I don't know. I didn't really expect more people to be playing it than Madden or the FIFA demo.
[Edit - Apparently this is US only users, so vs FIFA is fairly irrelevant, but vs Madden is more impressive]

I have a question and please try not to flame me too hard. I have never played any of the Forza titles even though I heard Forza2 was fantastic (always have been a GT fan).
How much can you modify or customize the cars in Forza? Is it like Gran Turismo where you can put all sorts of parts and even do specific tuning to things like camber and toe etc.? Or is it pretty much you get the cars as is?

That certainly doesn't deserve a flame, that's a legetimite question.
In Forza 2 it's about as in-depth as you can get. You can adjust camber and toe, you can change the gear ratio for individual gears, you can set the bump and rebound on the suspension, ride hight, brake bias (front to rear), you can set your differentials, etc. There's a TON you can set up.
In Forza 3 there's supposed to be an "auto-tune helper" for the people who don't do much tuning who need a quick setup that works well. In the end the detailed tunes will be much faster but it's nice for the guys who are overwhelmed by the amount of info flying at them.

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention, another perk. Forza is known for putting a ton of detail into it's physics engine, much moreso than it's graphics engine. You can tune a car and then run it on the track all the while having live data displayed on your screen to help you modify your tune. You can run it and then watch the replay (or monitor it while running) and head back to the garage to change your tune.
Say, you run Road Atlanta and you notice that at one of the turns you're bottoming out your suspension on the rear right, you can go stiffen up the suspension or raise the ride height based off of that info. You can pause your replay to get the exact data and such. There's a button you hit that lets you cycle through several pages of live-updating data.
Then you notice that you're having to shift way too much on certain tracks. Well, run the track and watch a replay. In your replay with the data you've got your RPM's, your current HP and TQ (which is constantly changing), and you find out where you want to shift and head back to the garage to change your gear ratio to make it work.
Then you move to a low speed but really twisty track and your car isn't sticking like you want it to because it's set up for a high speed track and you've got too much body roll. You create an entirely new tune (you can save as many tuning setups as you want) and lower the pressure in the tires, increase the front and rear aero downforce, fiddle with the suspension, change the toe/camber/etc. Then you shorten your gears for more acceleration, etc.
If you're a tuning fiddler this is like a digital playground for you.
Me, I suck at tuning so I leave it to the pros and buy their tunes.

Wow, thanks for all the info. That was extremely helpful. The only downfall i've heard people have with Forza is the lack of a real feel for the car and that it feels a bit like an arcade racer.
I never really felt that way, I thought it was alot more realistic than other similar "sim" games of the time. But on top of that, Forza 3 feels alot better than Forza 2 did (at least I think so).
Give the demo a download and see what you think. There is no tuning on the demo but you'll get a feeling for how everything handles and plays.

The only time it really feels like an arcade game is if you're running it with a bunch of assists.... but that's really the point. People who need assists sure as hell don't need realistic handling.

this demo assumes WAY too much honestly, there are so many tuning options it will make your head swim

and forza 3 is adding even more detail to this, the demo doesnt let you see what the physics can really do as it relates to how tuning can affect your car as well as much more thats not in the demo

No, and it never will. It doesn't have the right circuitry inside, as Logitech have made clear on a couple of occasions.
One big difference between GT and Forza is that you could paint and apply decals to your car. And if you look through the forums you will notice those decals can turn into mini works of art on the cars. I always thought that was a really cool idea.
Forza and GT are very similar in the way you buy upgrades. You don't do license tests to race in certain events, and instead the races are based on weight, horsepower, type of car, etc.
I am surprised I found myself playing the Forza 3 demo a lot longer than I thought I would. Which makes the wait for the full game even harder!
