Awesome. Just what I wanted to hear...

Just checked the FB web site. It's not listing the end date/time. Just shows the start date. Then on the 27th a new sprint starts. The heck? Oh wait. That's the end date it's showing. No one knows exactly what time it starts then? The 20th at 5:00 UTC?

My assumption is the TNgrid is more important than the PrimeGrid challenge currently ongoing due to being worth more Vault points? Sorry, still learning on how to check priorities.

Welcome back fastgeek. We got TN-Grid on lock for the Spint, we need help in WCG. We lost our first place spot and we're having trouble getting it back.

Ho Ho Ho, you're back! Just in time for early Christmas. Yes, we need help in WCG...

Oi, you lot will be the death of me. :LOL: Was just about to finally head home and you start fussing that I'm on the wrong project! :p OK, fine, I'll let those six boxes crunch the TN's they already DL'd; but have added WCG to their project list as well. Damn good thing I'm only dealing with these six and still had the IPMI windows open. ;) Now lets hope my wife and son don't lay into me once I finally get home!

Hello everyone :) i moved over to TN Grid for this sprint and ill be jumping back on WCG after.

Go ahead and move back to WCG unless you have a personal goal you want to reach on TN-Grid. We're 340k points ahead of the other teams who have a combined score of less than 4k points.

WCG needs the most help as of right now.

So I spaced out and left the 2P 6126 box running TN-Grid over the weekend; looks like we won by a landslide, too. :p

Unfortunately one of the 2P Skylakes has to go away and another needs to be reconfigured for the project I'm working on. There will be more though. ;)

Yeah a landslide is still an understatement. That's why I asked for you to move them to WCG haha.

As CV posted, we are getting crushed on that project. Well I mean we were getting crushed. Your 100k ppd is giving us the edge now.

I started moving to WCG as well on Saturday, CPUs anyway. I was fully moved over Sunday afternoon. I didn't want to abort any TN jobs but just let them run through. I had not participated in WCG before.

You joined the wrong team skylaar24.

https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=BP5XNJBR9N1

That should bring you to the right team. If not, search for HardOCP

Notice no brackets in the name for WCG. The other team name was hijacked by someone squatting on it. It's not ours.

This is the team you need to join:

This is the team you mistakenly joined:

Thanks, I was matching up to the FB name for a name. :( Glad you caught it now instead of weeks/months later.

Thats the only project who's name doesn't match the others.

Well... internet got hooked up at the new house yesterday but that means I currently only have a dual core laptop and a quad core that likes shutting itself down running with maybe a couple cell phones. The rest is still in transition as things get unboxed and put in their place. This house has minimum outlets so will have to address that in the near future. But the good news is that it is a 200 amp service instead of the 100 amp I was running on before. Here is to hoping the house is much more energy efficient.

ChelseaOilman I noticed you're still crunching for TN-Grid. If you are and you aren't going after some personal goal then move back to WCG where your computation is needed most for the team. Thanks. We won the Gold medal for the TN-Grid sprint already.

Got an X399 board a couple weeks ago. Amazon delivering the Threadripper tomorrow. Just need some decent G.Skill memory to get that system up and running. Be back in TX middle of next month. Then I'll fire up all my E5 CPUs.

Will move my GPUs over later this afternoon when I get off work.

If anyone is running CPU work, keep an eye on deadlines. Some projects have bonuses but they typically are associated with longer running work. Make sure use a multi-thread app_config if you go for the longer work units.

ChelseaOilman MGMCCALLEY

If you guys would like to help us on the FormulaBOINC PrimeGrid Sprint that starts tomorrow then switch your GPUs over to PrimeGrid. I would leave the CPUs on WCG (or whatever project you're trying to work on with CPUs) for now as GPUs are going to generate the most points.

MGM, I don't think you're a member on there yet so here's the link to sign up for it:
https://www.primegrid.com/create_account_form.php

Here is the team page.
http://www.primegrid.com/team_display.php?teamid=1710

This sprint lasts for 3 days starting tomorrow.
http://formula-boinc.org/sprint.py?sprint=18&lang=&year=2017

After you sign up, select the PPS-Sieve project only. It generates the most points. Deselect all the CPU and the other GPU projects. This is the link (once you're logged in) to get to the preferences page.
http://www.primegrid.com/prefs.php?subset=project

Proth Prime Search Sieve (PPS-Sieve)
That should be the only GPU project you are running.

If you want the maximum highest PPD then run the PPS-Sieve tasks, and run them 2-up (1 up still scores high). You won't have any chance of finding a prime running the PPS-Sieve tasks.

If you want high ppd, and a possible chance of finding a prime, then run the higher numbered Generalized Fermat Prime Search tasks. The lowered numbered ones complete fast, but they don't score well.

With this sprint don't bother with the CPU tasks.

This is the config you can use to run two tasks at once on your boxen.

<app>
<name>pps_sr2sieve</name>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>

To make things even easier. Download this file:
http://leroyblanchard.com/boinc/primegrid/app_config.xml

Save it to this location on your computer.

C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\www.primegrid.com\

You might need to restart/reboot the BOINC client or force it to re-read the config files. You should then see two PrimeGrid GPU tasks running at once.
