Evolve Alpha sign up is LIVE!

This game even months after the first Alpha is a mess. I played the first Alpha and this feels basically the same except with a better frame rate. Not really impressed with how they've handled the Alpha so far.

PS4 owners can't even participate thanks to the new firmware 2.0 update.

Works for me...I thought the first alpha was pretty fun, but the framerate sucked. If they improved that then I expect to have a fairly decent time.

I think the first one had some balancing issues as well but that can be fixed.

Even with the new patch getting connection lost when a match tries to start.

They need to give us credit for playing hunter and after 4 games, you got a token to buy a monster game.

Played a few rounds. Apparently if you own xcom there's no hassle with signing up. Game is kinda as I imagined it would be: like they took the tank battle aspect of left 4 dead and made it it's own game. I funk m dunno how this will succeed as a $60 game. The magic of L4D's PvP was both sides required teamwork. Here only one side needs teamwork. I had no desire to keep playing after the first round even though I did well and we killed the monster easily. Played a few more rounds anyway but opinion didn't really change. Then again I absolutely hated L4D's PvP for the first few times too until I got over the learning curve. I'll try to keep playing and see if the game opens up.

Here some PC codes

I got it installing I had X-com on Steam and somehow Evolve popped up =)
Just something I read on the Turtle Rock site....

I'm not a prude by any stretch of the imagination but I usually have to turn down the volume on these gameplay videos because somebody insists on dropping F bombs every other word. Not necessary.

Why would you expect anything else from the Millennial community?

Anyways, I'm kind of interested in this game, not 60 bucks interested though. Had fun playing Giants Citizen Kabuto back in the day & it seems like this would be fun for lan parties. Hopefully it'll be out and on sale by the time Christmas rolls around.

2 more gigs to go and I'll be the judge of this game =) Just got In a little pissing match saying the name of the game Evolve is stupid. Someone mentoned game called Evolva

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolva

Which is a carbon copy of this games theme.....

People have way too high of expectations when it comes to AAA games.

The Kraken is so damn overpowered. One time a Kraken player got to stage 3 in under 5 minutes and destroy us in less than 10 seconds. Another time one got to stage 2 and still completely wreck the team. It's practically impossible to beat all the ranged stuns/knockbacks, which also temporarily disables the jetpack.

Just played a round , revived a couple of team members & ended up killing the monster with a bombardment.

Was pretty fun. Although it takes a pretty long time to actually get into a game. I wish you could skip the opening sequence and spawn directly on the planet.

You do realize that the monster has its head start during that sequence. Its not there just because.

Playing this game with randoms yields a far different experience than getting a team of friends together to take on the monster. My team last night had a series of 5 matches against the same monster player (3-2) and it really showed how much fun it will be once we can set up dedicated servers and host private matches. Just because the monster doesn't require teamwork doesn't mean it doesn't take a good amount of strategy to win against the hunters. As the hunters it's also quite easy to screw yourselves over by forcing a fight at the wrong time or in the wrong place, or just by having a teammate accidentally get eaten by wildlife, lol.

For our last match of the night we went up against the flying kraken monster played by a bot... And it evolved super quickly and basically detroyed each of us in 5 seconds at stage 2 so not sure what is up with its crazy ranged aoe damage. Will have to get more games against it to figure out the strategy, obviously

This game is amazing looking Game play is pretty decent not sure how Shallow it is or Deep I killed the Kraken with my support Laser =) I suppose I should read a Game Manual or something Great looking Game though way better looking then Left 4 Dead 2 which is what made these turtle rock guys.

I didn't know that. I just thought it was a fancy way to present the game.

For those who bough XCOM, you should have the game in your steam list.

Downloading right now...

Haha, why in the world did he just stand there? Did he disconnect or something? Either way, seems kind of... lackluster?

It was a bit laggy, you can see from the video. However, I think the guy just plainly gave up.

After playing a few hrs today this game is no where near it's $60 price tag.
It looks and sounds great, but I'm going to pass until it's under $25

Spend more time in lobbies then actually playing. Need to fix that or I won't be getting it.

well then, heres some more:

I'm really liking it so far, but unfortunately, this game is even worse than L4D without friends because every human player absolutely has to know what they are doing and not suck at FPS in general or nobody is going to have a good time. If the monster doesn't know what to do, expect a boring, sub 5 minute match. If the hunters don't know what to do, expect a stage 3 monster withing the first 5 minutes and a nearly instantaneous wipe moments later.

I have had mixed results with random but yeah, I have lost so many games lol. Even with friends people need to focus on their roles and work as a team.

Played one earlier with 4 friends that had 30 seconds left on the count down timer when we won defending the power relay for the 3rd time. We pushed the monster back to go armor up twice, managed to get two players to re-spawn and revived several times.

It was insane, 5th game with the group and we finally all hit our roles against a good monster. Even then we won with the last two players down and dieing.

Do you have any more codes? I have a LAN part coming up I'm sure a couple of my friends would love to play.

I haven't think about that and I think you're right.

Ppl will learn the game trough time. Kind of normal that there is a lot of newbies.
