Evolve Alpha sign up is LIVE!

The wraith monster moves too damn fast, its almost impossible to keep up with. AKA, it needs a nerf and god forbid if your trapper sucks.

yup, plus his move-set is really strange...it's like he warps around...I never got to unlock him so I wasn't able to play him and learn his moves...I can imagine how tough the final 2 Monsters are going to be

He also drops decoys which allows easy getaways. I saw this girl on Twitch absolutely dominating with the Wraith last night, round after round. www.twitch.tv/seriousgaming

She would basically just avoid the hunters, evolve, avoid them some more and then run to the base where the hunters spawn and do the final evolution there and wait for 'em - total massacre. They never seemed to expect the monster at their spawn and I'm sure that tactic will slowly become known. She also had a perk for one of the rounds where birds would ignore the monster - pretty crazy.

Wraith us easy mode, and it will probably get re-balanced. Until it does get rebalanced you would have to be a real baddie to lose using the Wraith.

why do the Monster and Hunter characters unlocked during the Xbox One Open Beta carry over when Evolve launches on February 10th but not for PC??

Glad to hear they are not splitting the community. We would never actually know if they are telling the truth about the DLC or not, but I think the biggest issue for me is a single monster costing $15.

Except the reality is you do split a community into classes of haves and have nots due to the inherent game play differences of various classes and monsters. Perfect balancing is a concept that that doesn't exist in reality.

I don't get all the hate for this game...it's a fun game, well balanced for the most part, interesting upgrades, requires strategy, great graphics, performance is pretty much perfect (60 fps)...like I said before I think a lot of people don't like the difficulty...this is not a simple point and click CoD clone and that turns people off

The hate stems from the ridiculous price tag of $60 and all the fucking DLC which should have been included in the base game to begin with, i.e...classes, monsters. I'll end up picking it in 6 months when it's $20< because we all know that 2K games drop in price damn fast.

That being said, I don't think Evolve's difficulty has to do with the amount of flack that it's received, I appreciate the fact that it rewards people for investing time/skill into the game.

I understand the DLC backlash...the price is pretty much standard pricing for any new release...the DLC dilemma is simple for me...I'm only going to buy the base game...all pre-orders come with the 4th monster...the 5th monster and extra Hunters will be available to buy separately later on so if I like the game enough I'll buy it then...plus the discount from the fancy editions to just buying them individually is not that great ($5 or so)

People are having a shit fit as if this is the first game that pre announced DLC before the game even launches. Call of Duty has been doing that shit for years

Honestly, maybe this will be good in regards to people who are online are the ones who actually WANT to play and enjoy the game and not the Halo and Call of Duty players looking for a fix in between game launches.

Uh, I had some level 8-12 guys with me and we lost hardcore to a Wraith who spammed us with that farking clone attack and lighting and then just flew around the entire damn time, so I call that utter bullshit fair balance

Re-read that post you quoted, that's basically what he just said.

No, he said you would basically have to suck ass to lose to a wraith and I corrected stating that absolute bullshit in my experience.

no, he said you would have to suck to lose playing as the Wraith...meaning playing as a Wraith is over-powered

someone needs to start an official Evolve thread...1 week till release...I've decided I'm definitely getting it...beta was too much fun...$60 is a bit overpriced but I rarely pay full price for games nowadays with all the Nvidia/AMD bundled codes etc so I'm fine with it...I'm only pre-ordering the base game without any DLC...pre-ordering gets you the Behemoth monster

As with Dying Light, I will probably wait till a 50% off sale on this one.

playing as a Wraith is over-powered

Turtle Rock Studios used the Evolve beta on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC for more than just a glorified demo or to test its servers...The developer is making certain balance changes to the four versus one shooter, specifically to the Wraith...While the Kraken did get some needed adjustments, the Wraith was introduced in a similar overpowered state for the Evolve beta, with a 71.1 percent win ratio

“We made adjustments and now expect to launch the game with all three monsters very near the 50% mark,” Turtle Rock stated...

Yeah I picked this thing up not going for the DLC though way too much to ask....

seems like the smart move...can always buy the extras later...savings for pre-ordering aren't that much anyhow- maybe $5-$10...I think they are handling the DLC better then most people are giving them credit for...yeah the tons of pre-order content is stupid but the fact that they are not fracturing the community by making all maps free is fantastic...plus everyone can play against any Hunter/Monster regardless of whether you bought them...you just can't play as the extra characters

I was getting excited about this game until I saw the $99.99 "Monster Race" edition that comes with a bunch of extra unlockable characters. Shit like this just really gets on my nerves. Season pass is bad enough, but come on people.

Every day since the Beta ended, there have been flame wars on Steam community hub over the price.

People are buying from Green Man Gaming, due to the 25% off sale / vouchers ( if that helps ).

I honestly have not gotten into why Green Man is such a big deal

It's simple, they almost always have a 20-30% coupon that you can use on pre orders/new games. Which ends up making them pretty much the cheapest shop to buy legit games from.

So for anyone that buys new games/pre orders, they are far better then buying directly from steam or other retailers.

I know I buy about all of my new games there because of it.
