How the heck are some of you guys with ridiculous stats in vit and DPS at 50 or under??
I just got to 51 with my monk and I'm only doing 3k DPS and have 9k HP, some of you are 20k HP?? how the heck.....

My guy is a mad tank with life regen stats out the ass. I can only go so far stacking dex on every armor, I'm pretty sure I got some dex on every item, is it because im not in Hell mode yet? I found those axes on the AH, they took me from 2.5k to 3k DPS. I haven't found anything else that would raise my DPS right now

Is anyone finding anything decent in Act IV inferno? I've run the place dozens of times and I have yet to find a 2h or 1h over 1000 dps. The only time I found a weapon over 1k dps was near the beginning of Act III. I'm losing count of how many sub 200 dps lvl 60 blues I have found...

I usually start at the beginning of the Prime Evil quest (to get Tyreal), clear the spire to the pinnacle of heaven, then head back down to the tiered gardens. I do this as I will easily have a five stack of valor by then, and I figure there are more chests and weapon racks earlier in the level. That and it doesn't hurt to have help...

I'm slowly picking up magic find gear, but it's hard to find pieces that have decent stats.

Find a weapon, two rings, amulet and gloves with high Dex and AtckSpd% and that will boost your DPS value substantially. Dex and AtckSpd%, especially the latter, are king when it comes to boosting your DPS.

The weapons at the level are such low damage to begin with, you don't see the full value of massive dexterity. I haven't played a monk, but I'd imagine you are going to want a lot more vitality.

Grab a socketed helm and put a 12% life gem in it. If you have gear that is only dexterity, look for gear that has dexterity and vitality. I bet you could lose 100 dexterity, but gain 500-600 vitality easily.

I don't understand the glass cannon approach. You can't dps if you're dead! :)

I think they buy the weapons with "Reduce level requirement" so they can get ridiculous DPS at level 60 even though they're not there yet.

He gains 400HP every second.... for 10 minutes at a time.
Vit hasn't really been an issue yet, but I still don't know why my guy is so low, compared to some in this thread...

Those axes have +191 and +180 dex, respectively.

I do Inferno Belial runs. I would do A3 Siegebreaker runs but I just can't handle it yet with my gear.

Life regen is nice, but you're fast approaching a point in the game where mobs will hit through that quite easily.

Those weapons do go a long way towards explaining why your dexterity is so high! An above post was right on when he said people are using weapons with reduced level requirement. Set an AH filter to levels 60-60, with reduced level requirement min of 9.

Fuckin A.

45k Hp and 528 resist all. My armor is shit though its only at like 6500 with keen eye. Still getting annihilated.

I just started Hell. Lvl 51 Barb. Using the auction house I found some INSANE deals. Got a 1 hand weapon for like 20k gold that does 240dps. Depending on if I go offensive or defensive Shouts I either do 5600/9000 dps now.

If your dps is too low it is because you aren't using the auction house. I didn't give in until the end of Nightmare...but holy shit guys. Just use it. WAY easier.

Also, how are you guys screenshotting your character? Whenever I do it just gives me an image of my desktop...really weird.

F12
Life on Hit is another good stat. I just got 2 axes with +100 LoH each. +200 Loh, +400/sec
Just totally tanked through act 3 nightmare. nice.

Here is my full defensive set vs my full offensive set. I'm usually mixing and matching to stay around 30k damage when clearing act 3.

I'm eyeing out my 1k 1-handers now. I'm ok with no other stats, but I'm hoping to get life on hit with one of them (by either a stat on it or with sockets).

Ok I'm talking about non-boss runs, thanks for the info, however.

We were getting about 6k/run through leorics mansion. About 2 minutes each pass.

I've gotten my dh to almost 11k dps and can run around by myself in hell.
I was at 4k last night and had to run around with my friend and his barbarian since I was getting owned left and right.
Spent around 200k in the ah equipping myself.

Here's my monk unbuffed

Act 2 Inferno, getting owned even by easiest champion/elite packs. He can faceroll the butcher with my eyes closed...

If its anything like my barb you need about 2.5k to 3k more armor. I'm still stuck in Act1 because of this very issue.

My first hardcore wizard died at lvl 42.

New wizard is lvl 60 in Act 2 of Hell. I'm sitting at 55k HP and about 10K DPS with 400ish all resists.

Belial shouldn't be too bad right? I haven't fought him on hell yet.

I love this game =D

so I have about 6.5K dps with 30% attack speed, and roughly 3K Armor and 24k HP...wizard...I am in ACT 3 of Hell and getting straight up hammered by elites and some high hitting regular mobs. Int is roughly 1.2K

Am I where I should be at this level...without farming the AH? once I turn 59 I will a legendary weapon that will give me almost 750 more dps.

Did you solo Hell Belial?

No, I have been playing Hell through with a friend also the same level 58, he is a Barb...

Resists are an important part of survival and start to become apparent in Act 3 & 4. How much resists do you have? 200 resists is common if you want to take a couple hits the closer you get to Inferno. Also, your DPS seems a little low as a Wizard in Hell (though I'm not entirely sure on that). Do you have a screenie of your character?

I seem to see more success with a glass cannon type of build (all dmg, no defense). But I can see the obvious issues in that one for people who aren't that type of player. I like my survival stats!

How do I take a screenshot of my guy...when I go in there I hit "print screen" but it is my windows desktop...is there a shortcut key to take them?

I have dual display's and it keeps taking it of the windows desktop...I will take a shot when I got home. looks like my resistances are ~100-120 each for each resistance.

You'll want roughly 7k armor, 700 resists, 30k life for A2. 10k-ish DPS should be sufficient, so you've got some room to give some up. Make sure you load up on Life on Hit gear. Maybe look into a higher speed weapon or increased attack speed gear. More hits = more life = less dead.

Your skill loadout already looks fairly oriented to survival, but maybe get Blinding Flash in there with Searing Light to mitigate Elite damage some (I'd either swap it in for Sweeping Wind or SSS).

I just hit Hell difficulty & realized that I'm done playing it for a long while. The repetitiveness & getting owned by hordes of elites really burned me out quick (not including accidentally kiting a megaton of them into a big group while low on HP & pissing off someone co-oped with me). I really hope that Blizz improves the game enough for me to enjoy it again later on.

Here ya go...thanks timtheenchantor for the details on where to find the ss.

Some quick thoughts Viper:

Not sure what DPS your 2H is, but look at upgrading that. You may just want to grind out 58-60 then buy a lvl 60 weapon, though if you want challenge - that may trivialize it a bit.

Try to reduce attack speed on your wizard. A wizard's power comes from the fast regen in your arcane pool and using the right skills at the right time in conjunction with auto-attacks is the key for the Wizard.

Honestly, I think that rebalancing your attack speed and your DPS is what you need. You may also want to look at adjusting your skills for some more survival. Always using an escape skill, of course. I only have a Barbarian in Inferno, but I've got a couple buddies who play Wizard and they've given me this advice when I leveled one.

He's better off buying a level requirement reduced weapon to get him through hell rather than grinding 58-60.

A two handed axe is plenty 'slow' if he's interested in damage per hit rather than damage per second. It's not like attacking faster is worse for him (i.e. if he has attack speed on a ring - reducing that speed for the sake of reducing speed makes no sense). On that note, I'm fairly certain the 70 int 15 ias rings are level 56ish (at least the dex ones are IIRC), so that would be a huge cheap DPS upgrade. Hydra scales with DPS and not damage per hit. Faster weapons also allow you to stutter step kite easier.

Good points Intel. Much better and tailored advice than I can offer. As a barbarian, I just smash things and find ways to do it harder. :D

I forgot about those level reduced weapons

For hell that's too much HP, too much resists, not enough DPS.
You need ~15k dps for hell to have no issues with any bosses, elites or champion packs.

Belial is a joke. Venom Hydra + Blizzard on the boss, run around and collect health orbs, cast energy armor or crystal shell for oh-shit moments. Same applies to every boss and champ pack. Maybe add default weapon swings when you have no arcane power by trying to cast blizzard on the enemy.

I have a hardcore 60 witchdoctor in hell act 3. Please add me if you want to party up newster#1682.

I used to play Diablo 2 hardcore ladder and did uber tristram. All my friends are too chicken to play hardcore in D3 though, so I would love to join up with some of you guys. Message me if you want me to add you.

I think he is geared enough for Belial as is (I soloed him with much less of each) but in hardcore you can never have "too much HP, too much resists".

He's hardcore, though. I don't think you can ever have too much HP or resists for hardcore.
