It literally just started showing up! Awesome. Thanks. You are showing up right now...
Does the fire special on SoH suck that much more then the lightning one?
Got 4pc IK last night. Really looking forward to messing around with it.
Very nice. I'm just waiting to find a third piece IK that isn't the damn weapon and I can rock IK and raekors one of my barbs.
My other barb is rocking might of the earth with lut socks right now.
How are you guys finding this stuff so fast? I've got 2 IK and 2 Earth, never even seen a single Raekor's drop. Is there a secret here I'm missing?
Its pure luck. And to be honest the might of the earth set is a lot better than raekors. One more piece with a RoRG And lut socks and your barb will be doing higher torments in no time.
That's the dumb this about D3, everything is so luck based that the amount of time put in doesn't even matter. Albeit I put in a lot of time... Some friends put a fraction and already have their demon hunters in marauders Natalya's calamity gear.

Beware just slapping on elemental damage for the sake of elemental damage.
I have 2 reaper wraps which differ by 497 dex + 6% CC and 16% fire damage for the other.
The dex +cc combo is "mathematically" 1% less than fire damage. Effective wise, there is no contest as to what does more damage which is the dex + cc combo.
So before you go burning off gear you think you don't need or think its a sidegrade, play with it. Elemental is not the OP stat it's made out to be, but it is nice as a compliment to damage.
Has anyone played a lot since the expansion launched? Hours or paragon levels.
So wizards are good, but are WDs almost as powerful? Does throwing (fire) corpse spiders three or four times stack the 400% damage on a single target?
I have a 70 wiz, DH and WD. DH is something like 400k/3mil sheet dmg/tough, my wiz is 650k/10mil and my WD is 930k/7mil. My WD is much more fun to play and also a rare character in pub games as most people are monks/wizards/DH's. I currently use spirit barrage with cold piranhas with bonuses to cold and those skills and can easily solo Tor 2-3. Been playing my WD in 4 person t2 rift runs and rarely have to bail for health coverage while being useful to the dmg count.
In short - WD's with the right gear are just as capable as any other class.

They took some sort of limitation off their pets recently that makes them considerably formidable I hear. Supposedly also affects the Ancients summon Barbs have.
I never ran pets in pre RoS or after until recently. I picked up a legend item (I think bracers?) that lets my dogs absorb 25% of my dmg. I'd much rather have the slot for something else like locusts. When I watch the crits from the dogs its around 125-175k with the return life to me rune. They get one shot killed at T2 levels against bosses so they are useless there.
I need to start gambling lut socks.
Lut socks cannot be gambled. Just read it on Diablofans.com. They have a full list of what items cannot be gambled.
So what's the quickest way to take a level 45 to level 70?
I asked this question to a buddy and he said "just make a cains set and put a big socket in the helm"
Where do you get this cain's set?

He's just referring to putting an exp gem in the helm. It's not specific to Cain's set or anything. You can also socket a red gem in weapons to give disproportionately good weapon damage at lower levels. Level 70 gear with minus level requirement is good too since you're in the 40's. They can go up to -30 (so level 70 gear at level 40).
That said, power leveling is loads faster.

Would you mind defining powerleveling?
Also, I crafted up a whole inventory of crossbows on my 63 wiz trying to get one with -requirements, but never lucked out. Is there a better way to get a reduced level requirements weapon?
Well if you get 3+ of the Cain's set you get +30% bonus XP or something, so it is potentially worthwhile if you're trying to power level.

Just a follow up to cagey's comment because he's right on. I've powerleveled with the wretched mothers quest which I think is act 1 and quest 2 where you start with the captain outside the gate. You can go from 30-60 in probably less than an hour and then maybe another hour for 60-70 depending on how long your power leveling partner can keep it on T6.
I believe you can try to re-roll it into the weapon using the Mystic, but you're still at the mercy of the RNG. In all honesty it's probably better just to farm for one. I've seen plenty of weapons drop with a level requirement of -15 or lower.Would you mind defining powerleveling?

Yeap I successfully made a weapon with -requirements once I got the mystic. It let me plow torment 1 and so I flew to 61, then found a 1670 dps 1h crossbow from the vendor. It's pretty cool that vendors have upgrades when you're leveling now.
Almost 100k dps and 410k toughness and torment 1 is getting hard but I can still do it.
Is act v torment 1 harder than previous acts on the same difficulty? Or is it all scaled on level now and it doesn't matter where I'm the storyline you quest?

Since RoS came out, I went from 125 to 305. So yeah, I've been playing a lot.
I have a T5 rift group capable DH, 22 mil toughness, 1 mil dps, +55% elemental fire + attack specific, burst cluster, vengeance and flying stampede to my damage/stun contribution. EDPS in the 2.8 mil range. All hail Tumble. If I forgo survival, I can run around with 1.2 mil dps + 40% elemental + weapon specific and still rock 13.5 mil toughness. (6400 armor and 1650 ar).
So DH's are quite capable damage/survivalists.
T5/6 is where gear selection really matters a lot for those that want to kill AND survive. It's not enough to ramp up damage alone and be 1 shot by a random poison burst or start of a desecrator fire. If you can't contribute to combat, we kick you out.
Anyone recommend a solid fire build for a Wizard? Mine is feeling a little bit underwhelming.
