Don't you have to have a level 70 character to do adventure mode? For leveling, the wretched mother's run in the first act is pretty quick. Probably get from 50-70 in under two hours if you have find someone to run you through at torment 1+.

theres a trick to this. Start the game off in normal mode. Kill 2 of the 3 mothers. leave the game. Set difficulty to Torment VI. Then rejoin the game and the mother right by the gate is spawned again. Just lure her to the NPCs and they kill her, and you get Torment 6 quest exp

I found some Blackthorns Spurs yesterday with the worst rolls on it ever. I disenchanted it right away.

My friend on the other hand, lucked out immensely. He got a Thunderfury with nice stats AND a socket on it already.

Buddy got 2 Thunderfury while speed leveling his alt mage on Torment 6. He was not amused as he's got some crappy weapons on his main Barb. After I got him to 70, he switched to his barb and got some Blackthorne's with the worst rolls possible. You could hear a pin drop for 30 seconds then I had to take my headphones off to shield my ears from his ranting. :)

It always comes with a socket.

found a perfect stat magefist for my wiz and a fire legendary bracer back to back the other day. Never played wiz really but guess im now a fire wiz. THANKS RNG!

Servers lagged, a lot of people on the clan pointed it out at the same time, lost my HC Crusader.

Thanks to Purebooyah and Aix I'm back to 70 with my second Crusader...

I don't understand how you can play HC lately. Since Friday, I've been experiencing horrible lag and tons of rubberbanding. Until that's resolved, it's SC for me. I've already had too many instances of hitting NDE on what should be easy mobs due to lag.

My complaint I guess is that there's a bit of item disparity when it comes to +% dmg. Cindercoat makes fire that much better ... aside from the fact that fire skills are typically the highest dmg ones (understandably by design...). DH is pretty much forced to roll with fire. I spent over 3000 shards getting Cindercoat on my DH (gambled on my monk to avoid the DH armors...). My Wizard has a level 60 cindercoat, level 60 SOJ, level 61 magefist, and level 60 fire dmg amulet. I can't even replace those until I find the exact level 70 versions. Kind of annoying.

RIP in peace.

There was a poison/arcane/other stuff elite pack when the lag hit. It was funny because all that was working correctly was our health which steadily kept going down. I was down to 1/4 health on my Wizard before I could move again. Unstable Anomaly didn't proc yet but I was still pretty lucky

Assume it's going to happen, always have backup gear, and try not to get too attached to your characters. ;) It's also why I'm just playing wizard when I do torment. Unstable Anomaly gives me a chance vs lag. I've also been thinking of just running bounties in easier difficulties until this gets sorted out.

Looks like the lag people are experiencing is due to the same AT&T datacenter that caused the problems last month (iOS update traffic flooded a datacenter).

Did a tracert and this particular hop was the culprit (same as last month):
mdf001c7613r0003-gig-12-1.lax1.attens.net [12.129.193.254]

Last month I was able to circumvent the problem with a VPN (StrongVPN) and connecting to their New York server, so I'll give that a try again today. Here's the info you need to run a trace route to see if you're being affected as well: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/performing-a-traceroute#addresses

I forgot about my screenshot. Now I'm not sure if I was rubber banding, or if Pure black hole'd all the things on top of me, lol

The lag and the stupid bugs caused by Blizzard steer me away from HC. Didn't they have a bug where the Crusaders ability didn't work properly and instead of reviving them, people still died? I don't mind dying in HC if it's because of my mistakes, but when there are things I can't control(lag/bugs) and get punished for them, then I just don't see the point.

You're pretty much forced to play on an easier difficulty, just in case Blizzard decides to fuck up and not have quality servers.

Ahh okay, I thought it was funny that netflix was lagging shit that much. good to know it wasn't netflix =P

Anyone willing to trade power leveling? Since I landed a completely useless lvl 38 cindercoat last night while leveling a new WD, I'm through with the pre-70 grind. I'm lvl 42 now so I don't think it'll take long. I've never power leveled anyone, but I'd be happy to use my T2 solo-able wizard or monk to return the favor.

As another option, if someone doesn't mind me jumping in on the end of a rift prior to getting turned in or Orek in higher Torments, I'd be happy to use my rift keys to open another for you. I think they're worth, what, 15M+ xp even on T2? Just a couple of those should be enough to get an alt close to 70.

If interested, my email is [email protected] or add me in game - Azazel#1330

Thanks

For the most part, other than the recent AT&T lag issues, my HC experience has been fine for more than a year and it hasn't stopped me from getting a whole account full of 60s/70s.

In general, I think HC is more suited to players who genuinely like playing ARPGs and not necessarily just leveling up a character, acquiring all the loot, and then saying "I'm bored there's nothing to do" after a few weeks. I don't know why, but ever since I was swarmed by fallen shouting "Rakanishu!" in the Stony Field in D2 I have been hooked on building characters and clicking monsters - dying in HC just presents me the opportunity to start over and do it all again; same as ladder resets, etc.

When your character dies you lament all the cool shit you had, and then buckle down and do it again. Deaths to the Lag Monster are indeed disheartening, but the rest of the gameplay is so much more interesting with permanent death in the mix.

lol that pic. Black hole saves lives by sucking everything up, it doesn't move stuff around. I bet you were dead before my mirror images had cast black hole otherwise you should be taking hardly any damage because of it. I was mashing 3 keys at this point...mirror image, black hole, and health potion.

And I never even saw that goblin with all the other shit going on.

If any of you HC people are still alive id love to game with you. Pm me some battle tags!!

Usually always playing with AMD T-type/Namtaru and we usually do T1 rifts. We're both in the H clan.

I am going to start a HC Crusader tonight and see how that goes. If I can make it to level 40 or so without getting killed, I will be hooked.

I need something more interesting than rifting for a few hours a night trying to farm gold and gems for the soft character.

Just remember, early on Vit and AR > Damage

I am hoping the Crusader will be a bit tougher than other classes since I can walk around with a shield all the time without being so gimped.

I had a HC Mage on the PS3, died while getting like 4 FPS on Rakkis Crossing :(

I've been playing using a VPN to reroute my connection, which worked last month when this lag happened, but today I'm still getting spikes into the yellow (400-500ms) so I don't know that I would recommend playing HC during prime time tonight.

Has anyone played a lot since the expansion launched? Hours or paragon levels.

So wizards are good, but are WDs almost as powerful? Does throwing (fire) corpse spiders three or four times stack the 400% damage on a single target?

I'm new and just got my barb to 70, but I could use some help power leveling other classes as well. And I can help power level yours. Added you on battlenet, if I did it right.

Anyone else can add me as well. Drawmonster#1478. Love the game. I could definitely use some tips and stuff on getting good gear and build tips. I'm only paragon level 5 with really crappy gear. :(

I've gotten like 100 (up to 180s) paragon levels since RoS, 70 wiz and monk.

Wiz are very powerful right now, often labeled as flavor of the month. I'm pushing 2.2 million Elemental Elite DPS with 9mil toughness.
WDs are very powerful with the removal of the CHD cap. With some specific gear, they can do massive damage and stay relatively safe behind their pets.

Both Wizards and WDs are perfectly viable.

I dont know much about RoS Barbs and Crusaders, but I hear they're underwhelming for damage.

And Demon Hunters?

I've played nothing but Wizard, and I think i'm just getting burnt out. So i'm leveling a DH, because i like the at range gameplay, and WD bored me to tears.

I am currently rocking a Crusader, around 670k DPS unbuffed. A bit slow but very tanky...

Since RoS came out I've leveled a 70 in every class and added about 110 paragon levels to my toons. :D

Barbs need very specific gear to be good. Like 3 PC earthquake set with fire dmg bonus and lut socks. Without those they are severely gimped. Well thunder fury and fulminator/shard with lightning build is still good with a good rolled haunt of vaxo and tasker and Theo but not comparable to most classes now that soh is nerfed.

Its bad but not as bad as poe desync.
I lost several HC chrs in that mess before I quit playing it.
What pissed me off was its on purpose in poe.
They say nothing any more when someone screams about it.
Is blizzard doing the same?
I noticed last night was especially bad.

Since RoS came out, I went from 125 to 305. So yeah, I've been playing a lot.

I have a T5 rift group capable DH, 22 mil toughness, 1 mil dps, +55% elemental fire + attack specific, burst cluster, vengeance and flying stampede to my damage/stun contribution. EDPS in the 2.8 mil range. All hail Tumble. If I forgo survival, I can run around with 1.2 mil dps + 40% elemental + weapon specific and still rock 13.5 mil toughness. (6400 armor and 1650 ar).

So DH's are quite capable damage/survivalists.

T5/6 is where gear selection really matters a lot for those that want to kill AND survive. It's not enough to ramp up damage alone and be 1 shot by a random poison burst or start of a desecrator fire. If you can't contribute to combat, we kick you out.

Reddit forums shed some light on the issue, but i dont think the root cause is known.

In other news, my wiz has been gearing up nicely. Top 4k wizards in America. In game self buffed and with unwavering will, I stand at 1.5 mil x 57% ele x %15 elite = 2.7 mil elemental elite damage. T1 is as fast as normal for my wiz, bottlenecked by movement speed.

At what point should I start looking at specific damage boost? +Cold, +elemental, +Elite etc.

I feel like you will max out on Sheet DPS and without concentrating on special modifiers on items you wont get the damage needed to pass T2 or so.

Well +% elemental/skill/elite is multiplicative, so 20% lightning bracers (for example) will take HotA Thunderstrike's 535% and turn it into a 642% skill, and then factor in all your crit damage, crit chance, etc., as it normally would. That bumps up Thunderstrike to on par with Smash, but with a stun effect as well. You should be looking to get as much as you can while still maintaining other staples that your skills thrive on.

This is why sheet DPS, while nice for some characters, can be totally thrown out the window for others. Would you rather have a nice boost to sheet DPS by adding 6% attack speed, or would you rather have a hidden 15-20% skill modifier that makes your skill hit like a truck? Stuff like cooldown reduction is also not factored into sheet DPS, but can make a massive difference.
