Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

Act4 is terrible to farm, no good or smart DH's should be farming there. Act3 is pretty terrible too, but it can be done. Its still not that smart to farm since you get almost 1 shot.
Well, I was ultimately hoping to farm A3 just to have the highest chance of getting good drops.

Someone showed me a nice A2 farm run that nets you about 12-15 champ packs in 30-45 minutes. I'm not quite able to farm A2 yet so I was wondering what some DH stats were for people who are farming A2 or A3 (what I meant to post originally)

Northern Highlands is another good place. Always go left from the port to the cliff, then north. About half the time you will get a Watchtower instance with a bunch of elites and a chest inside. After that I walk up to hit Leorics.

Care to share this A2 farming route? :D

I guess its good to know I'm geared up to first half a1. Rest of Hell should be trivial then?

What dps is needed for barb to avoid enrage timer?

Hell will not be trouble.

I'd really try to set up for at least 14kdps to clear all of Act I Inferno. I'm not sure if you are already using it, but Revenge with the 30% proc chance is a boon.

Act 2 farming I use with my wizzy :

- Dahlgur Oasis (clear), find the Forgotten Ruins (in Dah Oasis), clear it.

- Black canyon mines, clear it.

- Desolate Sands, find Vault of the Assassin, clear it.

Those seem to be the best spots in Act2. Short walks, a lot of Elites. 15+ in those three areas or more.

Yes, I have been using that rune since it became available. I would like to get a 5% revenge belt at some point but good armor is scarce in hc. Was using cleave while leveling up and now using frenzy with life steal. Figure that will make the most of my limited loh.

I still feel like the difficulty curve in this game is dumb in Inferno. Act 1 is a joke, Act 2 is doable but hard, and Act 3 I routinely get hit for 6000-11000 dmg per hit. This is as a wizard with 6100 armor, ~860 physical resist, Blur passive.

I'm really tired of kiting builds but thats the only thing viable past Act 1. I guess I just need to get some AP on Crit so I can mix up my skills a bit more.

The melee tank build works amazingly in Act 1 for me, as I have between 31-35% crit, but taking that type of damage in Act2/3, if Diamond Skin wears off for even a split second against an elite pack you die near instantly. And if a few attacks manage to land at the same time I sometime still get one-shot.

Maybe I'm just getting to be "too casual", but this isn't fun to me anymore. I played through all the ME games on the highest difficulty below Insanity, DX:HR on the highest difficulty, The Witcher 2 on Hard, etc. But this isn't "hard", it's just tedious, and Blizzard needs to learn the difference.

I like to go to normal with my DH and pretend I am in Inferno with a super strong DH, lol

Some of those vids with 250k+ damage DH's make me feel sad, since i only have a 27k DH.

It's what everyone has been saying all along whether they like the game or dislike it. It's sad that inferno doesn't have a challenge involved with it other than the quest for better gear. Would be nice to see some mobs with more AI other than "chase".

Team up with Rizen and own the game. He seems to understand what a mage tank is all about and you can be the aoe dps. Beats running around the map like a chicken with it's head chopped off.

Just get Rizen to cast Blizzard when the mobs come by instead of failing like the kid in white.

I'm at 50% crit and 7% more for explosive blast. 1000 resists with prismatic armor up. With cooldowns refreshing so quickly its a button-mashing madhouse. For A3 I've been using Mirror Image/Duplicates. It breaks you out of jails/frozen and more importantly gives the monsters something else to hit. A3 is still hit-and-miss. Some packs I can tank for 5 minutes until my fingers hurt while everyone else dies over and over, but I can eventually solo them anyway. Others are some crazy arcane/frozen/shielding/whatever combo and burn through a shield too quickly.

The best partner i've found is a monk running Overawe. It just synergizes really well with monk damage reduction stuff and wizard AE.

What's your specific build? I've been using Wicked Wind, Explosive Blast, and Spectral Blades. I don't have any AP on crit so I can't just spam EB.

My Wizard does just fine in Acts 1, 2 and 3. Act 4 I have I have to play a Kit build and die to much for it to be worth it.

The curve was very bad at first but after the damage nerf it seems to be just about right.

Act 1 and 2 I do a Archon build and just blow everything out of the water. Act 3 I do a Blizzard, Hydra, Spectral blade, Dimond Skin and switch out glass cannon for blur and rarely have to kite.

I'll take Life per second over Crit any day. 1800 Life per second 14000 life total = 7.7 second full recharge. charge into the fight swords blazing get hit a few times pop Diamond skill while still swinging charge up to full health just before the skin vanishes take a few more hits pop a health potion and by then they should be dead and if they aren't Skin should be close to ready again.

also Zunimassa's Journey, Zunimassa's Vessel, Zunimassa's Plague, Wanderlust doesn't hurt in the slightest.

My only AP spender is EB so I can spam it.

deep cut blades, prismatic armor, EB, diamond armor, frost nova w/9sec cd, 1 floater slot. For farming A1 its force explosion, for groups I do time warp 20% damage boost, teleport, mirror image duplicates, whatever.

You should find a barb running the World Wind + Tornado build with War Cry. Its a great combo as well. Last night we played 2 wizards 1 monk (same monk you talked about) and a Tornado barb and it was cake walk downing 11million lifers.

Overall I'd say 2 monks 1 barb 1 wizard is the best team you can get....but I've yet to have the pleasure of this team.

You must have wayyyy better gear than I do. How much armor do you have to be able to take hits like that?

What type of gear am I looking for on a wizard? It seems I spend more time trying to figure out what to search for then buying it.

I know all res and Intelligence, but what else. Crit? LoH? etc?

Do wizards build res? I sure didnt.... You dont need res. I went with some vit on mine but thats about it.

Crit, crit dmg, int.

Yeah its pretty good. Pretty sure I'm over around 7000 I'll have to look when I get home.
for example my helmet looks like
(215 Int - 65 - All Res - 180 Life Per secon 3.0 crit)

It Depends on what Type of Wizard you want and what type of gear you already have and how much golds you have.

I do low life High life per second using Force armor. All my gear has

Int 150+
All res 50+
Life per second 150+

Optional
Crit change and damage

You can also do high crit critical mass build with gear that has

Crit chance and damage

Optional
Int
Vit
All res

You also do full int full vit full all res (expensive)

int
vit
All res

Optional
Crit chance and damage

God wizard build would have INT, VIT, All res, crit hit and chance, attack speed.........Yeah this will cost 2 buckets of gold

I can't really get past 55K dps on my wiz I can get it near 60 if I put everything to DPS mode but then I either am missing abilities due to having to use sparkflint. Anyone else past 60K as a wiz on here?

I'm at 43k with 31% crit, +254% crit damage, Glass Cannon + Force Weapon (no sparkflint).

Thanks for the info.

I however fail to see how I raise my DPS with those builds. I have a wand that does 723dps and with magic weapon and glass cannon I only hit about 19k DPS.

Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong? Is it my weapon, with bumping the DPS on my weapon jump my damage that much?

High +int on all your items, then +crit chance and +crit dmg start to increase damage quite a bit, apparently. I'm still trying to get my damage up quite a bit, even with a 1050 DPS blue axe that actually dropped for me.

What's your intelligence, crit %, and crit dmg %?

The weapon is a small part of the equation. My weapon is only ~750dps but it has +77% crit dmg on it, plus another +70% crit dmg through gems.

To be frank the rest of your gear is probably not that good if you are at 19k. That's about what I was at when I first started doing Inferno Act 1 (I was at ~16k with Force Weapon + Glass Cannon).

Make sure you pick up the Enchantress or Scoundrel. Enchantress gives a slight bump in attack speed and Scoundrel gives 3% crit.

About 85k here with scoundrel as follower... But only 200s resist, 23k health and 5k ish armor after fa. I use a semi kite build that utilizes meteors to reduce cd so I can spam diamondskin. This allows me tank lightly while having the flexibility to back off for certain hard hitters.

Currently at 47% crit chance and 250 Crit dmg. Build is great for running through a3 quickly, but I have to gear change against diablo.

My enchantress has 5.2K dmg herself. I usually use her and my base atk speed is about 1.73 - I think. I finally hit 40% chance to crit with a new neck but I had to get one without int to afford it. My Crit dmg is only about 220.

The rest of my gear blows donkey.... It is decent stat cheap gold find gear I bought to farm hell with. I need upgrades to most everything, but this info has answered my question as to what to look for on gear I find and look to purchased.

Thanks for the help!

My gear probably cost 60 million and I max out at 60k but normally run just under 50k.

Think these are worth any money? I searched but it didn't come up with anything similar.

Good, but would be worth more with resist all. Worthwhile gear is getting pretty specific now, where one wrong roll drops prices dramatically.

Wiz/WD are going to be looking for IAS + crit and res all for gloves, really. I'd definitely use them as a Barbarian, though. I'd say they are nice gloves.

^Set the gloves to 100k with no buyout, and you should make some money.

And while we're on the subject of gloves, I found these last night:

It's too bad the main stat is missing. Could've been a great item.

Wouldn't do that right now. I saw on Reddit yesterday...There's apparently an exploit where someone can "buyout" your item with the current bid price.

Maybe it was stealth fixed... still unsure

Editing the memory with a hex editor? That sounds like something warden could easily detect. Wonder how many people will get banned for it in the next wave?

400 hours of gametime and I have yet to roll max on ar on yellow, rolled 79 on a blue that went to vendor but that's about it. Having three affixes that are very high on on one item almost maxed out is still worth something to someone. I could see this going for a million.

Any barbs out there trying out the double tornado build? I just switched to it from 2h and its so much fun. I beat my head against the wall completing a3/4 the last few weeks and was not having much fun after trying this build out I actually remember what it was like to have fun playing again.
