Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

its down again for work, seems like the game servers are down more than up.

its frustrating...i get to work and usually hit up the AH (not the real money bs) and update my listings and peruse a little bit. They sure like to put a cramp in my morning rituals.

I'm getting real annoyed at these constant maintenance windows. Why can't they drop half the servers or something? And rotate the half that are down to be like 4AM in the varoius timezones people play from.

I'm on vacation this week and about half the time I log in to play the servers are down. It's probably just dumb bad luck...But it's annoying. I logged in this morning to play and I got to play about 10 minutes before the servers went down for a 2 hour maintenance window. Since there's no offline play - that's frustrating. Guess I'll have to wait till tonight. Dumb cause I've got some free time to kill before the family goes to the beach...

anybody else have questions about why they SHOULD be refunding people? Servers have been a complete joke. They EXPECTED high sales and they EXPECTED lots of people playing it. They've completely failed in so many ways. I guess I'll have to try my luck in the RMAH if I can even get access to it. I had something about a DLC cant access it for 3 days

I got that digital copies of the game must wait 3 days before accessing the RMAH. WTF is that all about?

If you use a credit card it's a 3 day wait. My nephew is ready to deck his character out and ticked about the 3 day wait. :(

I was ready to deck my character out too.......Then I looked at the price of the gear I wanted 'Immortal King's Soul Cage' and Hot damn cheapest I could find was 125 bucks....and that was first bid.

I was expecting 3-5 bucks which I would gladly and willingly pay......But who in their right mind would spend 125 bucks on an digital item.

I think nobody is really using the Real Money Auction House yet and those prices don't represent what the real prices will be say 1 month from now...... Looks like I'll have to say up 5 million gold to buy it.

or just buy the gold for cheap then put the item on the RMAH like I plan on doing

Buying gold currently isn't working.....and I'm not so sure its going to be cheap.....Maybe using a 3rd party it would be.

Really, I looked this morning and tons of Tal Rashas set gear was $2-5, I have a feeling that the "Farmers" are buying out everything set/legendary to corner to the market to make easy money and sell them at a higher price.

I'll have to check when I get off work, when I first looked which was not long after it was launch the prices where way high.......Maybe as nobody paid 80 bucks for an item the prices dropped to something people will pay.

If so I'm quite excited as farming 5 million gold doesn't sound like my idea of fun.

Market will crash sooner or later, that's when I'll cash in and get some items that I've been eyeing.

Mainly a good pair of Lacuni Prowlers.... :( I still haven't found a single worthwhile legendary while my friend has found 4-5 good ones while leveling up (Boj Anglers with near perfect stats, near perf wizard spike, lidless wall, dead man's legacy...the list goes on) That fucker. :p

As gold prices bottom out, so will the RMAH prices on items. Why are people going to spend $250 on an item when they can buy 25 Million Gold for $50 bucks and buy the items from the Gold AH? People are going to constantly play the two markets and they will eventually crash, I really dont see any way they can be stabilized to remain profitable.

I sold a pair of Lacuni Prowlers early on for 500,000 not knowing just how bad ass they are. I ended up buying a pair for 1.7 million a few weeks later.

Yea same thing happened with D2 LOD after 1.09. I have a feeling 1.03 will have the same affect.

The highest buyout price for the RMAH among my auction items is $26, but no bids (or buyouts). :( Only a shoulder for $6 ($5 when the transaction fee is deducted) got sold, probably because of the gold find and high armor.

Weird, I got the error about a 3 day waiting period for digital copies as well...notwithstanding I've had the game for what, 30 days now?

And I had the same exact experience as someone earlier about buying gear in D2...I think I spent about $50 on badass gear, played a bit and then...what was the point? I think within a week I had stopped playing and was pissed at myself for throwing money away like that.

Thats what will happen.. THE WHOLE POINT OF THE GAME IS TO FARM. If you just buy all the gear you will beat diablo and be incredibly bored.

I'm already hearing people have spent $250 (max amount to sell an item) per item.

One guy claimed to make $1500. I believe it, because some people have some nice decked out DH's.

Ridiculous. I was thinking... well if I want something bad.. Perhaps 2-3 dollars isn't such a bad idea.

Well have you looked at the RMAH, there are tons of things in the $2-3 category.

Go to battle.net -> payment options -> add payment option

Something to that effect.

Straying off of RMAH, I finally beat inferno diablo, he was much easier knowing he doesnt port unless you're touching an edge. Unfortunately, the fight wasn't as fun that way because over half the time he was off my screen. At the last second I got caged, but my hydra pushed him into the kill phase, so I just had to wait out the trap. Then I spent another 5 minutes killing him off because my 250mf set sucks at dps :)

what happens when you sell an item for more than you can currently hold in your account?

?

The RMAH limits max bid/buyout at 250 USD. Surely you can hold more than 250 bucks in your account.

I just sold an item for 3.44, hell ya! haha.

How do i set up my pay pal account without going through game?

You have to enable that SMS notification thing first, then go to payment options and add a paypal account from there. When you try to sell something, it'll send you a text for a verification code thingy, then you're set.

I don't know if this is true, but I don't think there's away to transfer funds from your bnet balance to paypal, is there? I have a whole 25 cents on there!

you ether pick paypal or bnet account and you cant send funds FROM the bnet account to paypal
but you can put funds from paypal in to your bnet account

also paypal takes a 15% cut which is bullshit but what ever
now if some one would buy my crap
i see people buying 250 buck items but not my stuff i put up cheap >.> boooo
dont want to get rich but you know a making enough for a nice prime rib dinner few times a month would rock

Of course. For some reason, people don't mind being nickel & dimed to death. It's much easier to convince a person to buy a $3 item than it is to pay even 20 million gold. (And I'll take that $3 over almost any amount of gold). Sell a ton of $3 items, and you can make a decent amount of money (in comparison).

Does anyone know if the 15% Blizzard speaks of is the 15% from paypal? My interpretation of it is, its $1 minus 15% to transfer then paypal takes an additional 15%(like usual). Essentially being 30% total? Or is it just $1 and the 15% paypal takes normally?

PayPal doesn't take 15%... they take 2.9%: https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/m...r-content&content_ID=marketing_us/fees&bn_r=o

Just curious, where does it state anywhere that Pay Pal takes 15%? If that's the case that's a rip off.

Oh. I guess I was thinking it was 15%. So then, its $1 and 15% fee, then youll get hit with another 2.9% correct?

Yes that sounds correct. Blizzard takes $1 plus 15%? What's the $1 about?

I dont know youd have to ask them. :p But its $1 then a 15% transfer fee, then whatever fees paypal charges. I love paypal. We should just all bend over.

no no no no no.

theres a fee for listing. a flat fee. then a transfer to paypal fee thats the 15%.

transactions inside your b.net accound only have a 1$ fee

if you take it out of their system its 1$ fee plus 15%

i didnt get hit with any fees to my paypal account.

Item name 1 Keen Restraints
Time of transaction 13 Jun 2012 01:00 AM UTC
Sale price $10.00
Transaction fee $1.00
Paypal transaction fee $1.35
Applicable taxes $0.00
Your proceeds $7.65

i have 7.65 sitting in my paypal account.

The 1.35 paypal fee was the 15% you are told about in the auction house.
