I have had it happen twice since launch, as has my friend. its annoying as hell since it takes like a damn hour to get it fixed

I disagree. yes you miss out on the nightfall and weekly every now and then. but you get access to the better gear and weapons regardless. not to mention the new drop rates for legendary and exotic engrams. for some one not paying a dime, that is a lot.

considering those that bought the DLC really only get 3 missions, 1/2 strikes and another raid, you could make the argument that those buying it are getting screwed.
 
Some nice stuff from Xur is available, along with some upgrades to popular exotics. I'll be grabbing the Ruin Wings and upgrading Armamentarium for the Titan. I was hoping to get an upgraded Saint-14 or Obsidian Mind from the helmet engram but ended up with Knucklehead Radar for a Hunter I don't have, and an Apotheosis Veil which I can make use of for now.

Thunderlord and Thorn will be the only weapons I upgrade for now, but Suros and Ice Breaker upgrades will be great for those that have them.

Are you in the preview program or on the standard dashboard? My sons system isn't in the preview and has had the issue. I'm in the preview and we are several versions ahead with stability and backend updates and I haven't had this at all. Just trying to troubleshoot a little thanks.
 
Only thing I have on Xur's upgrade list is my Warlock helm. None of my exotic weapons made the list this week.
 
Getting the new titan gloves, upgrading my ice breaker, suros, and perhaps last word. Buying some helm engrams and getting that achylophage for my hunter for sure. I guess I'll be 31 in no time after all :D

Both my friend and I are on release standard dashboard. I have Kinect, he does not. There is no warning for when it occurs either
 
Until the RNG gods smile upon me, I am going to concentrate on fire power first. lvl 28 and still rocking a 242 rare scout rifle. was fine before, doesn't cut it now with the new difficulties.

And the RNG gods hate me. Cryptarc ranks package: two rares. Fucking hell. One of which decrypted into a different class helmet. For an update that was suppose to see an increase on the number of legendary and exotic drops, it sure seems stuck in low level rares.

You don't know what it means to be hated by RNG gods..... 3 Cryptarch packges, 2 blues each, 69 motes of light for 3 helmet engrams, all 3 comes out as knucklehead radar....I already have knucklehead radar.......
 
I know the crypt-arch package issue. I swore they use to be 3-4 engrans each, now its seems to he just two. Which would be ok of you actually got legendary out of them like they said would start happening as they were reducing how often you got rank.

Xurs engrams have always been known for dropping the same thing. At least you can shard them to get the exotic shards and save yourself some coins.
 
I'm not that impressed with Ruin Wings so far. From initial posts it sounded like you could sustain heavy ammo nearly indefinitely, but I haven't noticed any extra drops over three or four strikes. Might switch to arma-whatever soon.
 
Hit lvl 31 today, so that makes both my hunters ready for the raid. Now to get to 31 on my titan..

I got ruin wings to finally get all my armor legendary and above, and I've since noticed a fuck ton of heavy ammo drops during strikes. Enough to keep thunderlord fed for the strike and have some left over for the next map.

I had one strike with one heavy drop total, never saw more than three heavy drops in the 8 strikes I ran with the perk unlocked. I did a the protect the satellite event, and afterwards there were 20 primary and special ammo drops in the valley, no heavy. Finished playing with my Titan for the night, switched to warlock and he had 4 heavy ammos drop in the first 10 enemies.

My Titan has always been unlucky when RNG is involved, so maybe it's best if I don't use RNG based exotics on him.
 
for what is worth, I got ONE heavy drop across three tiger strikes this morning. saw enough special drops to go all shot gun, all the time. the drops have been weird since the 9th. still waiting for the cryptarch to decode something into a ledgenary.
 
Well, I've replaced all my armor this week on my warlock. I upgraded my exotic helm, purchased gloves and chest from the vanguard vendor, and cryptarc gave me purple boots from a blue engram. I am currently level 30 with minimal play time on the helm and chest upgrades, so should hit 31 soon. Not a bad first week. Anyone else digging Murmur? I think it is a pretty nifty fusion rifle.

Murmur is actually a pretty sweet weapon that Bungie provides. Tried doing crota last night but just did not pan out once we got to him. One level 30 guy didn't have ANY weapons upgraded.. they were all base damage.. that was just bad. He contributed almost nothing to the raid.
 
I've liked Murmur so far. I used to run Pocket Infinity but the recent bug has killed it for me.

I did a ton of grinding this weekend and have run out of shards, so I need to run VoG a few times to stock up. My Titan and Warlock are both 30 with new exotics and mostly TDB Vanguard gear, and my rexurbished Thorn is on the final damage upgrades. I also finished of the 25 strike part of Bad Juju and will be on the crucible portion for Iron Banner which works out well. I hear it's quite good since they buffed it.
 
Enjoying Murmur as well, I have two level 28's, Hunter and Titan, working on some upgrades but not a raider at this point, we'll see later this week.
 
Started playing this with a trial/demo this weekend. Interesting game. Certainly not used to FPS on a controller though.
 
My two Warlocks are currently 31 when i switch equipment around to play them and my Titan just needs a few more shards to get the last 2 upgrades to get 31. Exotic Helm with Vanguard gear and Raid Gloves on the Warlocks. I am waiting on Radiant Shards to upgrade the gloves for the last two slots.
My upgraded Suros was maxed on Sunday, I used the upgrade from Xur to replace it. Already got a new Super Good Advice and a new Exotic Quest for Bad Juju to replace my old one.
I did the Raid Sunday and we got a good strategy down to kill Crota. Ended up getting the Hunger of Crota rocket launcher. Not sure I really like it though. Everyone on the fireteam got it and they were all gushing over it but I already have two other DLC rocket launchers that perform better.
I did get a new ship as a reward for the doing the new strike at level 26, I love it as it is the same model as the Birth of History ship but this has a new color pattern. It is such a goofy looking ship and it is unique.
One of the guys on my fire team got a ship for a reward from Crota. It looks just like Erus' ship, pretty cool looking.
Been hammering out the daily bounties everyday trying to maximize leveling equipment for the last couple days.
 
I got raid boots for my Titan last night during my first attempt at Crota. We couldn't take down Crota though, hopefully I can do that this week.
 
I carried the sword to kill crota last night and only got the emblem, shader, and radiant energy. Everybody else got a weapon... :(
 
Hotfix today that ups Crota's End raid gear and weapons to starting level 30/300 damage, and fixes the Pocket Infinity half damage issue (but also removes the larger magazine size I think). Also the raid helm for CE can now drop on normal, and the first DLC mission is now replayable. Pretty good update if you ask me.
 
A friend and I kind of cheesed the first two sections of the raid last night and I got the chest piece. So now with my new Exotic helm I can reach 32, once I attain enough shards that is.
My friend got that Primary Sniper rifle out of the first chest last night. Other than the looks and the fact it is a sniper in primary, not sure I like that thing. Reload time on it is way to long consider it says it has 6 shots in the magazine, it is still a bolt action and needs to be reloaded every shot.

I know how to cheese the first chest solo - can you do more of it solo?
 
You can do pretty much everything up to Crota, solo. I already have all the gear required to hit 32 on my hunter. My titan will be next. The stupid thing is radiant shards are going to be hard to come by. Bungies' way of limiting people from getting to 32 too quickly because the Raid is the only way to get those shards. Stupid.

A hunter can cheese the entire first section if you know how to use your Invis to its full potential. Just inv and run the entire route stopping when you need to re-invis yourself. Wait on top of a rock near the bridge until the Ogre shows his face. Kill him with an ice breaker or something fast. Touch the bridge plate and go back to the rock and wait for the bridge to build.
Second part can be soloed by a Sunsinger Warlock. Let yourself die and revive yourself as the last possible second and everything except the Swordbearer will despawn. Revive the rest of your team and use Ice Breakers to kill all the stuff on the other side of the bridge. Once the Orges are dead, the bridge will spawn itself.
 
To add to occidio, you do not need invis at all. I've even done it on my 29 alt hunter. You just need to know where to run to the lamps and get blasted to the top platform. You then make your way to the bridge by hugging the wall to your left. Then you light up the last lamp before the bridge to form to take off weight of darkness, then stand on the circle to form the bridge. Hop on the rock next to the lamp and nothing can touch you while you snipe the ogre.

You don't need sunsinger either for the second part, just need to stand on that plate let the thralls and swordbearer spawn and then just wait. The other side will start spawning and you can shoot the ogres.

The entire raid can essentially be done solo up to crota.
 
Just got the thorn bounty and am at the void kills in the crucible...sort of ridiculous. I hear most people cheese it with two if they aren't as pvp inclined as others. Any two people available this weekend to spend a little time in some FFA to get this over with? I'm on PS4, PSN ID is in my signature.
 
Guess I'm not as bad in the crucible as I thought, got that part of the thorn bounty done in about 3 hours just by playing normal, no cheesing.
 
I was dreading having to do crucible to finish up the bad juju bounty, but it went pretty fast and I actually enjoyed it.
 
I have crappy void weapons for the thorn crucible part, tried to start it a couple times and back at zero again... will try another time but really not a fan of this forced quest option, at least not with my weapons.
 
Did Bungie do anything for the holiday? I logged in this morning for the first time since the 19th and was surprised to not have any messages. In their last post they had hinted something was in the works.
