296 MB download with the Hard Copy compared to 16 GB for the Digital =)
? I did the preload last week on my Xbox one, Fired up this morning and had a 8mb download when I launched and I was in game making my character.

Thing is there is a lot of legitimate criticism over the game. The mission structure is absolutely awful, not only can you beat that part of it fast but its excruciatingly repetitive

I watched 30 seconds on Twitch. Had to mute it due to the Moron saying Eff this all the time. I saw...shoot bad guy, move around shoot other bad guy, rinse repeat.
Watched more of the same from another stream. I am not knocking the game yet. Cant be judgmental based on 60 seconds worth of viewing Twitch but...sadly that is all I have seen so far.

Did the same DL'd all night son is sick so I stayed home with him today played a little. Got all my pre-order goodies did the GS digital code pre-order. Unfortunately I didn't realise they're all BOP so the first guy I made ended up with everything. Little annoyed that my Beta toons are gone. I remember reading we would be able to keep them. Oh well.

Vanguard arsenal everyone toon can access. The Ghost skins you receive 3 inside your game mail. I assume one for each toon. I thought it was 3 different skins so I snagged them all on my first toon. The ship is 1 toon BOP received in in game mail. The special vehicle I hadn't tried that out yet but I'm assuming it's for 1 toon only since everything else seems to be. The special badge for your name is one toon only. this was the Gamestop Guardian edition DL code pre-order if it matters.
EDIT: The skysled GS download code is a one time use only and apparently goes to the first character you log in on. Not sure if this is how the GS special items went but I'm seriously disappointed at how the addon content is handled. That being said it's just reskins and no bonuses so eh.

Multiplayer is a Blast =) I like it anyway just got done with my first game got like X3 kills only had capture points.

Watched Angry Joe's video...looks pretty mediocre to be honest. Halo mixed with some Borderlands aspects.
It is pretty mediocre. Took me a day to beat the game and max level. I think Destiny has potential but right now it is pretty much a water downed Borderlands with half the amount of content and a tacked on 6v6 MP. IT IS NOT AN MMO, I am not sure where people are getting this idea that it is one but its not. Its a singleplaye + coop with terrible MP. The Halolands comments about the game are pretty acurate except it isnt as good as either Halo or Borderlands.
I am sure though reviewers (IGN and Gamespot) will give it 9.5/10's and say it is the best thing since sliced bread, but honestly it is an average COOP lootNshoot at best with very little content.
The media hype wil drive this game initially but I imagine it will go the way of Watch_Dogs and be pretty much a ghost town after a month -- unless the endgame RAIDs are really fantastic and then It might have some legs but I doubt it. Guess we will have to wait till the 16th to find out.

I have a feeling the amount of DLC that will be following this game will be plentiful and basically act as a subscription model for the game.
I'm pretty sure Titanfall had just as much hype but about 1/10 as fun as Destiny. Destiny will do fine, Titanfall will not.

This hae to be one of the most boneheaded posts I've ever seen here.
Destiny is just as if not more repetitive as titanfall with frankly worse pvp. The campaign from what I've seen is ok but its nothing great by any stretch. This is no where near what halo was in terms of being groundbrakingly good. This so far is just plain mediocre

I'm sorry but titanfall had a campaign like destiny? The game is mediocre at best and this game trumps that trash Microsoft exclusive any day of the week.
And yes I own titanfall on both xb1 and PC. Wasted my money as my friends all quit within a week of playing that garbage.
This at least has a way more fun PvP, and no running on walls does not make a game good. The Titan vs Titan got old quickly.
Titanfall retail version was so bad in comparison to the fun I had in alpha and beta of Destiny. Yeah, I'd say Titanfall was mediocre at best IMO. What trash and so much hype behind it. I guess we will see who will do better in the end?
Maybe Titanfall will be trash to you once it hits multiplat too.

Personally, while I don't think Destiny is the greatest thing ever, I find it to be far ahead of Titnfall in just about every category you can come up with.

Every boss is just high health and shields and you just need to pop out every now and then to whittle it down.
If you want a significantly better version of this game buy borderlands 2

PS4 is supposed to be able to download stuff in its low power "sleep" state (although I'm not sure if it works yet for all content). It's likely the thing was pre-loading the game and you didn't even know it.

Seeing all the reports from people who are "done" and "completed" the game in 10 hours, I am just left wondering what game it is they played?
I mean sure, rush through each story mission one after the others, but then you miss out on the pvp, the events, patrols, finding loot, etc.
I have sunk about 6 hours into the game and I'm only level 6, I've been exploring/doing missions and things and enjoying it a lot.
I also really really don't get the mmo comparisions, Bungie themselves have said time and again it's not an mmo.
To me the game is the closest to a fps version of Diablo, but it places random people into your "instances" and missions (or you can form a group).
I still wish theiy had some kind of post-character customization, being able to change your characters hair/tattoo's and other things, or at least let you bloody turn your character (I do not get why this isn't in? This is like basic for ANY game that has character customization).
I had to redo my character THREE times because the random hairstyles I pick had some jacked up looking "backs" to them that made it look funky as hell (IE ponytail you can't see while making it, or a rooster tail thing sticking out the back).
Also brings me to my second main complaint, you can not skip cutscenes? What is this, 1995? It was just annoying when you make a new character and you have to sit through like 10 minutes of cutscenes (well not THAT long but you get the point) just to get to the tower so you can see the back of your characters head.

What are the events? I'm level 9 just beat all the earth missions and the final group mission all on hard but I havent seen an event
Events happen randomly while you are just out adventuring.
Similar to how the events in Guild Wars 2 work.
For example on Earth one event I came across was when doing a patrol there was an event to try and take down one of those huge spider-looking tanks.
There is a timer on the events (it was like 5 minutes IIRC) and basically it's a public event that anyone in your instnace can do (And you WILL need people to help, they are pretty much impossible on your own).
Depending on how well you do you get rewarded with bronze/silver/gold ranking, however I didn't finish it so I do not know what the reward is if you do (I assume rare gear drops or something).

Yea I'd say it is pretty mediocre. I'm not impressed with it. Besides 3 player co-op? Really wish most of it was at least 4 player. Game just is not grabbing my attention, the weapons seem really underpowered, I just don't care about the upgrades like armor, etc.
The multiplayer PVP sucks. I see a lot of my friends going back to titanfall for this.
I haven't completely given up on this game yet but I do kinda wish I hadn't bought it. It is just meh so far.
I would hold off.
Yea I have to agree with the above. I was just walking up to enemies and hitting them with the melee. I could just walk around a bunch of them. The AI is terrible.
