Destiny 2

My 2500k disappoints me due to cemu right now, I want to play botw but my CPU cant handle it at all lol

Yeah, emulators and the few multi-core supported games out there seem to be the few items that benefit from newer processors. At least on the gaming side of things.
On the other hand, design and productivity programs (I mainly use Adobe CC) love 'em.

So just played with the super sampling and im happy with my results. Lowered my 1080 clocks to 2050/5250 and I was able to game again without it locking up :p Brought the SS in Destiny to 175% my FPS bounces between 60-70fps outdoors but loading the farm dropped it to 50 fps, lowered the SS to 165% and I has holding about 62 FPS in the farm so I'm going to leave it there for now. Looking forward to going home and seeing how nice it looks now, doing all this through teamviewer at work so I cant judge its visuals right now lol

With Destiny 2, I find the biggest FPS spikes come from zooming. I might be able to pull 60+ on a near permanent basis with certain configs, but to get the same result with lots of zooming in and out often requires I drop my resolution scaling by 5-10%. Either that or just come to grips that dropping to 56-58fps isn't exactly a big deal :p

haha I couldnt do that, I know it was only the farm and that it was still hovering around the mid 50's but dammit I want a min 60!! lol

You guys are the best. Simply not opening MSI AB and it ran like butter for the entire uhh 45 minutes I decided to play tonight. Miss my PS4 clan lol

Worked for me too, I don't have a GPU overclock but I have the corsair Hydro cooler on mine so I use AB to run the blower fan at ~30% to keep the VRM's cool. I ended up getting a mini 4-pin to regular 3-pin and plugging it into the board with a voltage reducer.

Does anyone have a comparison of how Ryzen stacks up against Haswell in this game?

Ok guys, get on right now so we can do a damn strike or something lol.

I'm so bored with this game now, still haven't been able to even do a nightfall strike.

I have a feeling this is where being on the consoles might have helped out.

It wouldn't be a guarantee to be sure because the same "matchmaking" issues and limits exist across all the platforms but simply higher odds on a likely larger player base.

https://hardforum.com/threads/destiny-2.1911837/page-33#post-1043341861 My longwinded opinion on this.

I've given up on the idea that I'm going to see Leviathan or Nightfall myself. Bungie most certainly overstated the case that people would have a much easier time on this game in terms of not missing out on things vs the first game. That's all there is to it.

Is the expansion still this Tuesday?

I'm only at 240 light right now so it seems senseless to play before then when the new content will have more missions and gear.

Have you tied the bungie LF Fireteam site? It works amazing, used it a lot for the PS4.

You should try and do the raid atleast once, it is a fun and cool experience.

All 3 are fun in their own way and for the the most part play the same. Biggest difference is the class ability

Warlock - aoe team buff, can either heal everyone or buff damage for a few seconds

Titan - can create a shield to hide behind when needed

Hunter - can cloak them selves and team mates if spec out for it

All of them are useful in pvp and pve

whats the most useful for solo situations? I never really seem to get groups in games unfortunately.

For me the warlocks heal, being able to drop a nice aoe ability to heal you when things get hairy has saved me more than a few times

I'm annoyed that there isn't some better in-game social system for teaming with people. I mean, you have these large social hub areas like the Farm and City. There should be some easy way to team up with people right there. Maybe a some sort of bar that looks that doubles as a chat room or match making area or something.

Anyone raiding tonight? Wanna get a shot at leviathan in before the new expansion. Ill settle for a NF otherwise, 283 power.

Year 1 player with "Flawless Raider" trophy and hundreds of hours of hard mode raiding experience, LF raid group :D

I couldn't agree with you more. I still say if they simply applied the same matchmaking setup across the boards like they do on strikes even just that would go a long ways.

Big update tomorrow.

So I’m confused at what to do now in this game. Finished the campaign and I’m at 260 ish light. Is it just a gear grind now? How do I get better gear, go to crucible or do the raid?

Complete any milestones you can, I would prioritize first doing the "Flashpoint" milestone first, since heroic public events drop blue armor up to and higher than 270 light from what ive seen. When you do each planet's exotic quest (provided by the planets quest giver), they give you power gear.

As of today, and this may be the last day, strikes are not great efficiency for earning powerful rewards. Nevertheless, complete your vanguard strikes and crucible milestones for some powerful gear. Then farm public events! Also, add me #greyboxer11664 I would be happy to run some with you in about 10 hours or so.

I'm at 177 and am just going to chill out for the patch. Are they changing the max levels or adding new sub-classes/weapons/abilities?
I was on the sidelines when the Taken King came out and it felt like that overhauled Destiny 1 in a pretty big way.

How long did it take you guys to go from ~260-300? I played today for like 4 hours and I feel like I barely got anywhere.

the 260-265 area is the level wall, you need to use your weekly milestone rewards to level up past that point. Took me 2-3 weeks to hit the level 300 area once I hit 265 using the weeklies but I got super unlucky and get getting duplicate armor types (ie 2 leg rewards instead of what I needed)

it takes a while if you're solo playing without a clan. i've got two characters at ~290 ish. i personally like the gear grind though, so i'm glad i haven't maxed out a character yet.

I'm at 277 and pretty much hit a wall around 270. That's when purple drops seemed to be mostly capped a few levels above 260. The cap increases as your light level increases, but it's still less than 270. Blue drops are basically worthless. Gold drops can go into the 280's, but since you can only use one at a time that's still a pretty slow grind. At least you can use them to boost your other gear.
Unless you ignored the story, you'll find that you're probably done with anything plot-wise to keep your motivation. If you haven't done Drang and Sturm, that's a good one to leave alone as long as you can. Drang's initial level is relative to your light level. Even though it's purple it can have a rating of nearly 280. Sturm (being gold) can be, too. Those two weapons alone can make for a nice boosts.
That leaves you with strikes, random pop-up missions, the raid, and crucible. All of those involve a MP component.

With some big changes coming on Tuesday, hopefully there will be some additional content that's less grindy.

I bought the game for $26 and just installed it. I made a warlock and I'm at the part where you blow up the generator. For the life of me I can't figure out how to jump out of the hole. Spacebar only propels me a couple of inches up before I fall back down. I read the controls and it clearly says that Spacebar is jump. All the jumping that I had to do previously I kinda bounced off stuff to get up. Been jumping for the past 45 minutes and still in the same hole. ;)

spacebar also cancels your jump, so if you're frantically hitting spacebar multiple times you're probably prematurely cancelling the jump. with a warlock it's all about the jump and glide. regardless, that part (and a few others) is a bit tricky with a warlock.

Gave up. Somehow I did destroy the generators and made it to the camp, but if there is a jumping section later in the game then there is zero chance that I will be able to pull it off on a warlock. ;)

Jumping with a Hunter couldn't be easier. You'll be triple jumping not long after the first mission. Warlocks have a higher learning curve, but apparently their float ability is super effective once you get used to it.

once you get the hang of the jump it's all pretty easy. warlocks are the most fun class to use in my opinion.

I believe with the warlock jump you have to do a quick double tap to get the most height.

I had started with the Warlock as first ever Destiny2 toon...and yeah, the jumping can be a P.I.T.A. (Pain in the A$$), but I was able to do what's needed switching between the Void and other spec that has teleport....that made it easier for some of the jumps. I'm currently working on a Titan(?) and the jumps are so damn simple with this guy...and probably the Hunter as well, from what I have heard.

For me the jumps are kind of a pain because the game never seems to register the second space bar input. I haven't been this frustrated with jumping in a game since SWTOR. They really need to improve the responsiveness of the game if they want people to keep playing. Its pretty easy to understand a double/triple jump or the jump/hover but the game just does not seem to register your inputs half the time.

I haven't had any issues like this. Are you using a keyboard that has low key rollover?

No, its a pretty well known problem though and some people recommend using a controller. The issue doesn't seem to happen with a controller setup.
