I have no way of verifying heat.I believe heatware allows making posts as well as sending dms for a while now.
So theoretically you could log into your own heatware and send them a message and ask the user on hardforum to reply back to it.
Can confirm with stinger608 he is 1 of the heatware mods. If anyone needs any help on reddit hardwareswap I'm 1 of the mods there. I know there is a decent amount of overlap and I frequently see things posted here and hardwareswap simultaneously for more exposure.

Oh damn I didn't know that. Thanks for letting me know.I believe the heatware forums have been removed.
I checked my evga password and it looks like someone hit their head on the keyboard a few times.thanks for the info, 2FA enabled. I did have an account at EVGA ages ago, have not logged in .......well 10+ years, I forgot about it thankfully I have not been hacked and I had a totally different password than here. likely those who most active might have been, I don't recall being there much at all.
I assume if you log out and back in you need to put in any of the 3 code you generated thus you might want to copy and paste this info onto a notepad and save it
My opinion is that the seller and buyer are in command of their transactions.HardForum should not allow posts in for sale/trade with people requesting payments via PP friends & family.
Lots of scammers wants to use this method, besides it does not correspond. The correct way using paypal is to pay with goods & services.
My opinion though.

Buyer beware.

We do everything in our power to keep it safe , but we don't get involved in the details of the trades.
I agree 100% with this!HardForum should not allow posts in for sale/trade with people requesting payments via PP friends & family.

Paypal can enforce their terms. No one else needs to take the time or is authorized to do so. Fuck PP.I understand that a forums FS/FT is at users risk. I've never had a problem purchasing here or in any forum, but I've always been careful. There are methods to get to know how a user is as a seller or buyer (if no account hacked).
I also understand that users may want to avoid paypal charges.
And I also understand that it is allowed here (I do not agree though, and will never pay this way).
But that doesn't mean that asking for money as "friends and family" is wrong and/or inappropriate for selling goods.
If you get nothing from a supposed seller (a thief that has hacked evga forums or whatever), you can at least open a dispute on paypal and maybe get your ROBBED money back.
Well, asking for paypal F&F is a way to make a purchase completely unsecure for the user who purchases, because you "gave" money to other person that it is not your friend or family ...
Let me be clear: I’m always referring to the user who comes with the intention of harming other users.
Paypal FRIENDS and FAMILY as the phrase clearly states, IS FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY, and not for trading or purchasing items.
There shouldn't be two readings about that.
Exactly. Hasn’t failed me yet in hundreds of transactions here over the years. There’s always a risk inherently. If dealing with a reputable member with good heat and recent activity then I don’t see an issue. Never had an issue using F&F here. If it looks sketchy then I don’t sell or buy to/from them.
If it's a relatively low-dollar sale, sure. Anything getting into the hundreds of dollars range, I'm not doing F&F.If dealing with a reputable member with good heat and recent activity then I don’t see an issue. I can see people being hesitant on higher dollar hardware, but again I don't have an issue depending on the member. I don't trade frequently, but when I do I haven't had an issue. Just have to be smart and comfortable about who you're dealing with is all. I even made a few friends out of it as well.If it's a relatively low-dollar sale, sure. and the income tax reportingmost people want to use F&F to avoid the Paypal fees
Tax evasion is how they got Capone...and the income tax reporting
Exactly.and the income tax reporting
Big Al was a big time criminal. I am basically selling stuff online like an e-garage sale. Mostly stuff I bought years ago, already paid taxes when I bought it. Not like I'm selling things for MORE than what I paid years ago. But doesn't matter any more, if you sell online they will report it as income. Stupid.Tax evasion is how they got Capone....
I was being sarcastic, hence the wink. If you're selling for less than you paid, it doesn't count as income under the new rules, but has to be itemized. It's an undue burden to have to do so for small time sellers, though, I agree.Big Al was a big time criminal. I am basically selling stuff online like an e-garage sale. yup and it's not just Paypal. Ebay keeps track of sales, and I think Venmo etc are all doing it. Paypal F&F remains exempt.... for now. But not everyone is comfortable using that to buy stuff online, and I do get it for high dollar stuff.I didn't realize PayPal lowered the reporting threshold so much...starting in 2026 anything over $600 is reported to the IRS...

Interesting. Too bad for years it was lower and us sellers got shit on by the IRS and for being over the silly $5000 limit.Thankfully that has been raised back up to the 20K limit it was a few years ago.

This is good info, had no idea it was reverted... been avoiding G&S like the plague due to the reporting requirements.. although I haven't sold much past couple years either so that also helpsThankfully that has been raised back up to the 20K limit it was a few years ago.
