Chimp Challenge : Official thread

Well my machines here at home have been WU-less most of the night. :( My GPU client finally picked one up but not so lucky for my other rigs. I hope my borgs are chewing on big WU's so they are not idle!

Idle processing power = not good for the Horde!

I was afraid of this, some people can't even handle simple instructions correctly (moron ='s big time goof). It really doesn't take much hand to eye coordination to be able to use a mouse, keyboard and read simple instructions. :rolleyes:

Yeah, yeah, I know it's done by the best of us sometimes, but this sounds like a epidemic :confused: (I've heard the ole' "glass houses and stones" metaphor, which is true IMHO)

And they want to defeat the [H]orde [H]ardApe folders in the "Chimp Challenge" (they can't be serious) No mature, average intelligent, adult in their freakin' right mind would ever entertain the fanciful idea that they could even come close to matching the [H]ardApe's Chimp Challenge pernts (unless of course, if they are completely brain dead) ;)

Oh yeah, I use fanciful in this post as meaning = un freakin' believable :D

OBTW I apologize for this post (not really :D) and in all fairness to the intelligence challenged it probably should have been just "swept under the rug" like so many other things in our great democracy (USA).

Well I usually turn my gaming rig off to sleep but not this week!! :) I hope it doesn't keep me up at night. I need my sleep or I might type in the wrong team number into my clients!! :D:D

Ive got my watercooled, turbine powered rig less than 5 ft from my bed (pretty damn loud fans on this thing) and honestly.....I have a hard time sleeping somewhere else if I DON'T hear it :p

Wuss. Try a couple of the Vantec Tornado fans at full speed. One was an 80mm and the other was a 92. I didn't hardly sleep for two weeks after I pulled them out and installed a Koolance EXOS.

And if you want to talk about an annoyingly loud 60mm fan, try the Delta 60x60x38 fan running at 8k RPM. The normal Delta 7k fans were silent in comparison. I don't even want to think about the amount of total CFM I have going between the seven computers in my living room and I still have a couple more to get up and running.

I have two Delta FFD0812SHE fans, how bad are those? I initially purchased them for my Tyan Thunder K7 (dual socket-A) but never ran them longer than simple test runs, and I never used them since. Those two combined sounded like a freaking SCRAM jet at full throttle...!! :eek:
 
Considering my ambient noise level is 66DB right now I feel the pain! 83.8F temp in my mini data center! Poor boxen cooking!

P.S. I'm disappointed I figured we be killing the competition at this point in the challenge!

 
Today we will see where we really are. It's clear the newcomers to the party are going to obliterate the incumbents though.

My idea would be to PM the top 20 and see their status. Check if it is done.

In my case, it's fully done but I have a boxen which is down at work (some doofus from another dept thought it's a good idea to shut down so he can connect his crappy P3-900 PC). I'll bring this up right now.

 
Well, we are actaully around 90% engaged...we have a big hitter just switching over.
