CDW Outlet Finds

Well I ordered 2 Sennheiser bluetooth headsets and the toner kit and the boxes for all had obviously been opened but the contents appeared brand new. All accessories were unopened and as far as I can tell nothing had been used.
Yep, that's what I love about the outlet. (y) I recently got a startech esata cloning dock and 2x panasonic 4k ip cameras in the same condition. I got the dock for 1/2 of the street price and both cameras for less than the price of 1. (y)

Intel Skull Canyon NUC $290:

https://www.cdw.com/product/intel-n...-6770hq-2.6-ghz-0-mb/6476311?enkwrd=next+unit

The listing is confusing - says it includes 32GB of RAM, which would be great at that price, but also says 4x ethernet ports, which isn't actually possible, so no idea if any of that is correct.

Wouldn't be much for games these days but it's otherwise a decent deal for a 4C/8T setup. They did get a bit loud under load, though.

There's also some just-listed Galaxy Tab S5e:

https://www.cdw.com/search/Computers/Tablets/?lfr=1&w=CC&key=galaxy+tab+s5e&outlet=1

If you're in the market for a tablet and want Android, I've used one of these and can recommend it. Like the S6 it has a gorgeous OLED screen, though it doesn't support Samsung's stylus "s-pen". There's also either already an Android 11 update or one is coming soon. They're a bit pricey now, but if the prices start to drop you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer display on a tablet.

Super finds!

To find out the specs on an item, ignore CDW's description (often wrong and hence how it maybe even got in the outlet), and use the manufacturer's part number which is everything before the "-BSTK". I researched the part number on that NUC and it's the real deal as there's the exact same model on ebay with the same 32GB installed going for almost 2x the price. (y)

And I did the same search on the tablets and your assessment is dead-on--these will be a good value in just a bit, especially when they drop below $300. (y)

It's a pretty good price, but it does not include RAM. Any listing for that part number that states "32 GB" is mistakenly listing the max supported. Various retailer listings that come up on a search of the product number bear this out.

It will be interesting what will happen with that ebay listing I saw then with the same part number and also listing it with 32GB--this is probably the reason it was returned then. ;)

Theee are over 200 results for the 2019 Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8” android tablet. Lots added just recently.

they start at $133 (which IMO is way too high, you can get them new on sale for just a couple bucks more) but even before this deluge they were regularly dropping below $60. Might get even lower now.

if you are looking for a small cheap tablet that runs android (vs. a small cheap tablet that runs the Amazon FireOS spin) this is far, far better than buying one of the rando brandos on Amazon. There’s an official update to android 10 but I don’t think they’re going to get version 11. [edit- they did! See my post below.]

Nice find! If they hit $60 before, they'll do it again for sure.

And speaking of again for sure, I checked one of the earlier tablet links I posted and sure enough, there's still some and 1 now at the sweet spot of below $300:

Wow. Surface pro X (ARM) for $220, 8GB/128GB config.
Insane price.

https://www.cdw.com/product/microsoft-surface-pro-x-13-sq1-8-gb-ram-128-gb-ssd/6497006

liiroy if you don’t mind an ARM one it would be impossible to find a better deal than this.

edit- looks like it sold fast! No surprise. I don’t even want one and I was considering it anyways.
Post it here and if there's literally any demand at all and if it's a solid deal it's going to be gone. Apparently, there's thousands of people all over the Internet that have found this thread and regularly buy the deals. A lot of times, it's why I can't find things when I need them anymore. :(

i probably bought the last one ;)
Only if you called it in since there's only one...;) Inventory for outlet items is allocated manually, not automatically. So an item can still show in stock and take orders even when there is only one sitting on the shelf. But if you place a phone order and confirm stock and have them allocate the inventory to your order, the chances are very slim that another order gets your goods.

If you placed and online order, I would call them and see if there's inventory to be allocated and to allocate it to your order. If there's no inventory, then you missed out and you might as well cancel the order since it will auto-cancel in a week or so after the order can't be filled.

Found some goodies while searching for something else. :)

Ever wanted to try one of the best trackball designs ever made? Or you already have one and want a pick up a spare for cheap? Keep your eye on this Kensington Expert Mouse trackball that's currently at $63, but I think will drop to at least the low $40s:
https://www.cdw.com/product/kensington-expert-mouse-trackball/6575460?pfm=srh

Little Eaton UPS that's normally 2x this price for $30--not bad for a unit with a 3yr warranty:
https://www.cdw.com/product/eaton-3s-ups-450-watts-750-va/6541048?pfm=srh

Got a crazy security system buildout where you're going to be putting switches in non air conditioned spaces? Then this Transition Networks 10 port hardened unmanaged poe+ switch with sfp ports might fit the bill, especially since it's only $114 versus the normal $300+:
https://www.cdw.com/product/transition-networks-hardened-switch-10-ports-unmanaged/6539385?pfm=srh

Need a big UPS and have the outlets for it? These 2200va 2U APC units are currently only $520 versus the normal $1200+ street price. There's 4 of them too:
https://www.cdw.com/search/Power/Ba...RMXLA+&outlet=1&maxrecords=72&SortBy=PriceAsc

If you're looking at 10Kva UPS units, you know how much they cost and all the details you need to look into. But these Vertiv Liebert units are usually $6700+ and are only $2464 in the outlet, and there's 2x of them at this price and one more currently at $2899, which is still a huge discount:
https://www.cdw.com/search/Power/Ba...T6UXLN&outlet=1&maxrecords=72&SortBy=PriceAsc

I might jump on that trackball...maybe. D:

Is there a set markdown for items before they go extinct on the site?

Like, if you see it at 50% its probably the first markdown, because the max markdown goes up to 70%?

Do they do markdowns on set days?

These things have started dropping below $60. There’s a few at $56 right now, dropped from $60, and a bunch more right at $60.

[edit] one day later they’re at $52 right now!

[edit edit] two days later and about a hundred of them are gone from the listings. Either they were bought or that’s as cheap as they’re gonna go before they disappear from the site.

the new A7 lite (2021) is probably the best big brand option for a small android tablet right now, but these older models are now less than half the price of the new one. If you don’t mind that it may not be updated past android 10, still a great deal for a small media tablet that runs full android. And there’s a bunch more falling in price, so they may drop even lower. Plenty of opportunity still to find out.

stiltner it’s dependent on the individual items. Every X days the price drops. I haven’t watched closely enough to see the frequency of it but it seems to be a couple times a week.

I know there’s a limit to how low it will go before the listings disappear, but not sure if that varies by item or how they do it. Best bet is to just watch for something and buy when it hits a price you like.

more, like with the cheap android tablets I mentioned above, just watch to see how low some go, and if they disappear you’ll know what the bottom price for them is.

[edit3] turns out they did update these to android 11. I have one in hand and it’s pulling down an update for android 11 and oneUI 3.1 right now.

so there you go, totally up to date 8” name brand android tablet for $50.

There's actually no rules that I know of. In my experience, depending on the item, it will 'go extinct' (I love that term!) when it hits anywhere between 50% to 90% off from the normal street price. But this isn't always the case. I've seen Apple items barely hit a 20% discount before they're pulled and have seen HP enterprise products get to nearly 90%--it really depends on the item.

I don't think there is a set day, but I do seem to find a lot of price changes occur on Tuesday. But the best thing to do is zero in on something you want and watch it since the price changes can come at any time, but are usually weekly.

I'm tempted to buy one. I have no clue what I'd use it for, but I'm still tempted. Maybe a weather/data dashboard I could put on a mount or something... 🤔

Want to step up to enterprise level multi-wan routing? Well, there's some deals in the outlet:
https://www.cdw.com/search/Networki...WOutlet-_-Search-_-Search+All&SortBy=PriceAsc

This Watchguard T15 is usually $550+ any place you look in this configuration, but it's sitting in the outlet at a paltry $190, and I think there's even possibly one more drop left in it--although it's a steal right where it sits:
https://www.cdw.com/product/watchgu...with-3-years-basic-security-s/6614240?pfm=srh

Fortigate 40F for $245 when the cheapest street is still nearly $100 more than this. I know this one will drop good one more time, but it still a good deal right where it is too:
https://www.cdw.com/product/fortinet-fortigate-40f-security-appliance/6648115?pfm=srh

Fortigate 61F for $377 when it's $700+ any other place:
https://www.cdw.com/product/fortinet-fortigate-61f-security-appliance/6646586?pfm=srh

Fortigate 60F with 1yr 24x7 Forticare bundled for $508 where the forticare or 60F alone is $500+:
https://www.cdw.com/product/fortine...with-1-year-24x7-forticare-an/6637874?pfm=srh

Ruggedized Fortigate 60F with 1yr 24x7 Forticare bundled for $710 when just the ruggedized 60F alone is $1000+:
https://www.cdw.com/product/fortine...liance-with-1-year-24x7-forti/6616127?pfm=srh

I usually ask myself this--will I be able to find one at this price when I finally need one? If that answer is no, I'm ordering it. :D

Thanks for posting these. Picket up the Watchguard T15, at that price with subscription it's a no-brainer to replace my pfSense.
Since it's in Used condition, are we sure the 3 year subscription hasn't been activated already?

I actually expect it has been. A Fortinet I bought with a 3-year subscription had used 6 months of it's subscription so I returned it. In this case if 6 months are gone the price is still good enough that I'm not worried about it, and the return process for the Fortinet was relatively painless if it turns out too much subscription has passed.

Received my firewall. I'm pretty sure it's the cheapest-built piece of network equipment I've ever purchased. Probably has the build quality of a $10 switch, it's awful, all cheap plastic. That said only 3 months were used on the 3-year subscription so definitely can't complain about that for the price. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase.

Yep, their smaller ones are more desktop like plastic desktop switches. But I'm sure the heart of it is still enterprise all the way. Our xtm22w still works and it has the same plastic case. And their rack mounts are true rackmounts--no cheapness on those.

All said and done the subscription is what you really paid for and the hardware came free. :D

So have you ever wanted an Apple Pencil? I know my wife always did, and I happened to run across this treasure trove of inventory of them (40+!), all for $40/ea (less than the median ebay prices), and they will probably drop at least one more time if not twice:
https://www.cdw.com/search/Computer...Search+All&ln=0&SortBy=PriceAsc&maxrecords=48

That first one that says '8-10 days' is the one I got. :D (https://www.cdw.com/product/apple-pencil-stylus-for-tablet/6637442?pfm=srh). Hopefully it will be the usual open box goodness that you find the in the outlet. (y)

I was eyeing a spare power supply for my wife's macbook, but then saw this too so I grabbed them both for less than the price of the power supply. :D

Hope this makes someone's day!

So have you ever wanted an Apple Pencil?
Naw, I got one from my boss (who worked at Apple around the time they switched to PowerPC)

Just got my pencil and power supply and in the usual outlet fashion, while it was obvious the box was opened and repackaged by CDW (will be a problem for people that want the Apple boxes pristine), the products weren't even touched--still have all the plastic wrap on them and everything. :D (y) Another serious outlet score. :)

The pencils I think have dropped to their bottom at $34/ea and there's a few left in inventory, but not many at this price (there's a few that will eventually drop down to this level):
https://www.cdw.com/search/Computer...Search+All&ln=0&SortBy=PriceAsc&maxrecords=48

Solid deal for anyone that wanted one of these for 1/3 the price. (y)

Anything lately Samir? Does CDW ever have refurb or cheap laptops that can handle light gaming? Looking for something cheap that can handle Diablo 2: Resurrected.
