Battlefield 6

Siege of Cairo has so much detail. I'm thinking this is the map they first started building, spent a ton of time on it and then rushed the other maps.

Cairo is the new Karkand. I like the New York maps myself but I don't have any maps that I hate, thankfully. On that note, I'd like to see some more winter maps and I think I'm the only one that liked the Alborz Mountain map from BF3, lol.

Looks like the Cronus kiddies are starting to be banned en mass on PC and console. Good to see EA not messing around. I wish they would do hardware bans as well. Get caught cheating, sorry, go buy a new console or PC.

Overall I think this is the best game ever made. Granted I am NOT a single-player game player. Even surpassing BF3, Quake 2, Everquest, PUBG and Eve Online for me. It's got everything; carnage, action, graphics, theatrics, performance/smoothness, challenge, gunplay, limited gimmicks/silly cosmetics, replay-ability, longevity, depth, sound...

Granted it's not perfect, the UI is pretty terrible, you have to click a dozen times on random crap just to start a game, the recon range finder needs removed and the netcode/server tick rate can be pretty frustrating. But I cannot think of a better game.

Agreed BF6 is great, but some all time classics like Quake 2 CTF back in the day are hard to beat

This game needs much larger maps with way more vehicles. Maps like from the BF4 expansion or old Desert Combat mod maps need to come back.

So far I'm liking it. But, yeah, maps are too small, too cramped, weapons need some balancing.

Waiting on the BR sucks.

Even the "large" maps are too small. They need huge maps that have like 8 tanks each side and 4 helicopters each and other vehicles too. Make it 128 vs. 128 players.

Hopefully Portal can redo some old Desert Combat mod maps for BF6.

I took some of my night time gummies last night and played some conquest...immersive is what I would call it. The DirectX error ended up popping back up, not sure why or how. Did some more googling and changed the AV settings for steam and the anti cheat, clocked my 3080ti back to stock levels...played fine after that. Seems like its a problem they've been having since the beta.

I think 128 is too much (I think even the EA said as much), 64v64 is the way. The stock rush mode with 16v16 isnt enough, needs 24v24 or 32v32

I want to see 256 player maps; 128 vs. 128

Each side gets a dozen tanks each, 6 helicopters each, and the maps would be HUGE like 4 times bigger than the current largest BF6 map.

Basically it's a hardware aimbot and recoil reducer.
It's also used to trick your computer/console into thinking you have a controller, while using m&k, so you get the game's built-in aim assist for free. Sneaky and diabolically effective.

It's terrible, but software anti-cheat has become so good apparently that hardware is becoming the new big thing. I don't think it's impossible to solve, but this is a whole new can of worms.

Welp...never mind. The DirectX crash issue is back and full force. Sometimes it runs for 3 or 4 games, sometimes it crashes in the middle of the first game. Hit up steam for a refund which im sure they will deny but that's ok, its more for visibility if EA cant get this error resolved in a timely manner.

did you try enabling directx 12 in the profsave_profile file?

Yea, tried dx11 too. No change
Did you try setting your cpu/memory to stock as well? Frostbite games are very sensitive to ram errors, not just vram ones but all kinds.

I would crash in BF4 with any oc at all on my vram for example, despite it working fine in every other game endlessly. It would happen randomly, sometimes only after an hour of play, but it was inevitable.

and here I am on a Win 10 install that's been through 3 full builds without reinstalling. lol

Same but made the jump to 11 about 2 weeks back.

Haven't really played much. Got a good bit addicted to TDM, disappointed with the vehicles. I have a feeling when everyone has leveled up guns I will have a tough time competing. The default guns are probably worse than BF3/4 default guns.

Intel i9 14900KF/3080 TI here.....
The thread you linked has only AMD GPUs reports, so sorry about assuming.

But in that case it might well be your CPU. Is it a recently bought chip and are you on the latest BIOS? The defective 13/14th gen chips are known to cause such GPU errors (among many other others), and BF6 is very CPU heavy.

It’s all stock. I haven’t done any oc of the cpu/ram as it’s been great so far…haven’t felt the need. The only thing that was oc’d was the 3080ti and even that was only 150hz mem and 50hz gpu. But I did indeed try putting it back to stock and lower. The patch they released made it much worse so it’s something client side for sure.

13900KS/14900K still is the preferred CPU for modern gaming in Battlefield 6 with stronger 1% and 0.1% lows with a smoother frame time graph and smoother FPS consistency.

HUB shows the total opposite and they have a very good and consistent testing setup for this, that they explained in great detail.

Multiplayer games benchmarking is notoriously difficult, but it sounds like you really want to feel good about your CPU.

In the beta they even did side by side with two PCs in the same game & same squad.

Got steamrolled twice in matches just because team was an absolute bunch of morons.
Had a few of those. For some reason people think deaths is the worst thing in the game. If you have good medics, you often get revived. Trying to push as a team and often gaining ground bot sometomes fail is what makes battlefield fun. Having lots of players trying to maintain low deaths while just sitting in one useless spot for long periods of time makes the game boring. Those wanting to just stay in one spot should at least control captured points instead of sitting somewhere behind a rock, far from any point, in the hope of catching easy kills on enemies pushing.

Gotta love it when there are 4 people on the point as attackers in breakthrough, no enemies yet, but 8 team m8s standing behind cover trying to farm kills 2m outside the point. It sometimes amazes me how many players would rather lose with slightly better, but still shit stats, than get a few more deaths and help the team.

Default guns aren't bad, if the gun is good, even if there is quite a bit of potential left in the gun. Most guns are not good though, when compared to the best guns. ARs also have enormous amount of recoil so better to go with M4A1 carabine, SMGs or LMGs if you don't want to spend lots of time learning the recoil control. Leveling up a gun takes forever so if you don't play a lot then I would recommend just using the M4A1 as it might be the best weapon in the game for close and mid range fights. It is also quite good without any upgrades, even if it gets a bit better with the higher end upgrades.

The best easy to handle AR might be the SOR as it is quite accurate, low spread and good damage per shot, but low fire rate though. The SOR is also one of the few ARs that are good at range, but not great close range vs SMGs, Carabines etc. The M433 might be the best AR close range, but the recoil and spread is almost unmanageable at mid to long ranges, at least if you are on mouse and keyboard. The NVO seems to be quite good allrounder, but is a PITA to unlock and needs quite a few attachments to be more managable. Pulling down the size of a head at around 20m will group up most 2-3 round bursts at mid range, but some guns have so long settling time that bursting can be ineffective.

Not sure if they changed it so controller have the same recoil as mouse and keyboard. If they still have the same system as in the beta, then gun advice from controller players might not be valid for mouse and keyboard players. Haven't tried controller recoil, but might connect one and go the firing range to see if the difference is still there. A lot of the low TTK ARs has a recoil and spread that makes them very difficult to use, so lower recoil and spread would be a massive advantage.

The SOR also gets supressors really early like level 5 I believe

Examples of recoil on the M433 for those wondering how much upgrades and input matters. It should be noted that this is one of the most uncontrollable rifles at stock so upgrades make more of a difference here than on many others.

  • Green: Controller Stock
  • Yellow: Controller highly upgraded
