If they did a remake of BF 2142 I'd be all in.

I think your memory of those maps may be colored by time:Battle of Britain was definitely aerial combat based, same with Midway, although you did have to drive the carriers to capture a couple of flags at sea.

Regardless, without getting into the nuances of what constitutes whether something is a tank, plane, or infantry map vs. merely emphasizing a particular vehicle style of play (and ignoring BF42 is showcasing historical battles), it seems to me that players over the more than 20 years since BF42 was the main game have come to associate all the modern warfare variants with mixed, large-scale combat.
I'm not crucifying EA/DICE for anything. I wrote that I don't agree with the design philosophy of the lead map developer so I'm not going to buy the game.Battle of Britain is definitely air focused. There is no way to cross the strait other than flying and the objective was to destroy the radar stations which required the German bombers. And as much as Midway had capture points the airplanes definitely dominated that map. And as I said about Aberdeen, if you're not in a vehicle then you're not doing much other than running. On the other end of the spectrum, you have maps like Berlin, Omaha Beach, and Stalingrad which were very infantry focused. Sure they had vehicles but anybody that has played those maps knows very well they were the original BF meat-grinders. BF42 started the franchise and it featured maps for varying play styles.
To add, BF3 even had an expansion called Armored Kill that focused on tanks and introduced a mode called Tank Superiority.
I'm not saying EA won't mess this up, but I'm not also crucifying them before the game comes out. My last Battlefield game was BF4 so I'm cautiously looking forward to BF6.

Though that had an armor focus the maps certainly had other vehicles and lots of infantry. The main addition were the tank destroyers. I liked Armored Shield, hardly got to play it though. BF3/4 had the right mindset for Conquest Large.
I'm not really sure why Empire is Conquest infantry only, that is what Domination is for.
They're nerfing the movement. Thank goodness. Still a wait and see for me.
Not really. It did not fit the style of a BF game to have people sliding and hopping around and still be accurate with weapons.Movement was one of the biggest upgrades to BF. Wtf.
These dudes seem to be confused between arcade shooter that actually sells vs. simulation shooter which will make EA shut them down.

If you like that kind of movement, stick with COD or Apex Legends.Movement was one of the biggest upgrades to BF. Wtf.

Doubt it will change all that much as very few players were trying to push the boundaries of movement. It is most likely more of a "fix unintended behavior" rather than a massive slowdown of the general movement.
What is style of a BF game. They have been playing around identity of a BF game for ages and each had very significant changes to movement, weapon handling and even vehicles. It hasn’t been consistent or predictable. Each time I had to adapt my playstyle to the new version of BF.Not really. So you want BF to be COD, play COD.What is style of a BF game. Also they need to sell their games. BF2042 wasn’t a big success. Has tons of issues because they couldn’t agree on style of game. Seems they will go down the same route this time. A lot of reasons why the beta was successful was them adding more QOL playability upgrades to this version including movement. I am assuming this will not end well or decision will be reversed or a middle ground found post release.
That COD fanbase is what pays and the BF formula no longer is a viable payment for a game like BF as EA needs a win desperately since they lost other licenses like FIFA and other sports games (lower sales) and made disasters like Dragon Age and the endless time to market for the next mass effect game.
As for me sticking to COD (other posts) - I don’t need to. I have enjoyed both these franchises for more than a decade and will continue to support the devs. BF getting modernized in beta was something I enjoyed and yes, I can have my opinion about games just like anyone else.
Congrats on making a very ignorant comment! So you want BF to be COD, play COD.
The tank flies 50m into the air, really realistic....they really ruined baaaaattlefield, or to put it another way, they changed it.They lost all the BF veterans and now they want to win over COD players with sliding and hopping and similar shit.
I always thought of COD for the console players and BF for PC.
Its not BF if you can't get a tank or IFV to fly.

Totally.
COD was for kids, it was the cheesy arcade shooter for X-Flop and GayStation
Battlefield is for mature PC Gamers. Using a keyboard+mouse the way shooters were always designed for.
Plus VEHICLES is a must with huge open maps.
Um, Call of duty actually was a PC game first and foremost...
Yes back in the day
It was a cool WW2 shooter, but the it got into that outdated stupid Death match garbage with no vehicles and small maps

BF2042 is what you get when BF tries to go COD, so my statement stands, you don't want BF, you want COD alternate which the vast majority do not want.Congrats on making a very ignorant comment!
I will play both. You can keep being ignorant.BF2042 is what you get when BF tries to go COD, so my statement stands, you don't want BF, you want COD alternate which the vast majority do not want.
Go play COD.

Battlefield Labs Resumes
The end of the Open Beta now provides us with the opportunity to return to Battlefield Labs play sessions. This time around, these sessions may occur at more varied intervals as we target finalizing the launch balance and features of Battlefield 6.
Battlefield Labs is intended as an experimental environment where the latest changes and work-in-progress ideas are tested with players in a closed and private space. The content played here will often be in various stages of production, including items in alpha state, which may result in less polished or stable builds during gameplay. This setup allows us to balance and make adjustments much faster as we shape the future of the game with you.
Portal and Server Browser
Some of the most frequent questions from the community have been about Server Browser availability and functionality. In an upcoming Battlefield Labs play session, we will enable an early implementation of this Portal functionality within the Community tab. At this stage, our main goal is to observe how it works in practice, with initial feedback focusing on accessibility and UI clarity.
As with the Custom Search functions seen within the recent Battlefield 6 Open Beta, these features should be treated as work in progress. They are not final, and for now, the scope of the Server Browser is intentionally limited so that we can focus on stability and core usability.
Battlefield Labs is a vital part of our collaboration with the community, helping us shape and validate these systems together. These tests will be limited in functionality and use cases, allowing us to focus on feedback and ensure stability before expanding further if necessary.
Players will see only a subset of functionality and Community Experiences. Portal Custom Community Experience building will not be available in this test.
Upcoming Battlefield Labs play sessions will focus primarily on hosting, where we will concentrate on the ease of setting up player-owned servers via predefined shortcodes, altering descriptions, selecting tags, and joining those experiences. We are aiming to validate this flow to ensure the scalability and accessibility of the feature.
- Hosting & Customizing: Players can use the experience library to find a verified Conquest experience using a provided shortcode. Enter the shortcode in the search field to access the mode, then choose to “play” (see a pre-filtered list of active servers) or “host” (set up your own server), where you will be able to alter descriptions, rotations, and tags.
- Joining & Experiencing: Players can join via the experience library as described, or open the Server Browser from the UI to view all currently running servers. From here, you can select servers, join them, and explore tag filters.
