Battlefield 6

My favorite quote:

From Googs AI:

In the Battlefield 6 open beta, progress does not carry over to the full game, but rewards earned during the beta do
I saw those challenges but I didn't complete any of them nor did I look at what they were exactly about, they're mostly just cosmetics? That's why people mostly repaired tanks, to get some kind of sticker

Nothing from the beta carries over except unlocked skins and cosmetics. Everyone starts from scratch.

WilyKit are you still crying over your hurt fee fees? No wonder you are so obsessed with vaginas when you carry on like one all the time. Maybe get out of your mom's basement and touch grass, it will improve your chances of seeing a real vagina one day.

Good thing they required secure boot, lol:

Snapping to every enemy on-screen is one thing, snapping to enemies behind walls and tracking them still is blatant. This is mainly the reason I don't play PVP games anymore or even multiplayer for the most part. So sticking to co-op in Helldivers 2 or Deep Rock Galactic for my occasional MP fix.

Fake, I was told earlier in the thread that some people are just good at the game.

Can't wait for Week 2. Any release date announcement?
Second beta starts Thursday 14th of August @08:00 UTC, but for some reason it ends on Sunday 17th @08:00 UTC. Essentially you don't get to play much or at all on Sunday so it is 3 days, instead of 4 this time around. No other betas have been announced so might actually have to wait for about 8 weeks after that, until 10th of October, for the full release.

I'm hoping it gets released early tbh. The open-beta felt polished enough that I though it was ready for release but hoping I don't jinx myself that this weekend's open-beta ends up being a shit show, lol. There is also the single player campaign that may need fine tuning too.

The snapping is too perfect though as a human will always have some variation and the locking through walls is a dead give away. There are some players that are capable of similar level of tracking, but they are rare and the ones I have played with or against in other games never have absolutely the same starting point every time when snapping to target and shooting.

That said I haven't encountered anyone that I would categorize as blatantly cheating through lots of hours in the beta so my feeling is that most players are legit. There will always be some cheaters, but as long as most of my games are cheater free I can live with it.

Highly unlikely we will get an early release. I wish demos would make a comeback. Back with BF2 they released a demo, one map (Gulf of Oman) Conquest only (BF was strictly conquest back then) but you could play it as long as you’d like. I actually hosted the most popular demo server in the world for a while until my employer at the time told me to shut it down due to bandwidth costs at our data center.

The demo remained active even after the full release but I’d be ok with them shutting it down on or just prior to release.

thats what makes it look fake to me, just snaps from enemy to enemy.
There are some players that can snap close that fast from enemy to enemy and track similarly without cheats, but they would be hindered by visibility in some of those situations (especially the walls and smoke). The main giveaway for me is that it pretty much always lands in the same place on the enemy model. Also if their aim is that good they would try to start of with a headshot on the first player, before moving to the body, when they start with 0 bloom/spread. On the second and third guy it makes more sense to move towards body shots because you might still have bloom/spread on your gun.

i thought someone post in here that anticheat wasnt on for the beta
The EA anti cheat service runs and uses ressources at least (CPU, RAM, disk). And yes, it stops when the game is closed, and does not start with Windows. Less intrusive than something like Punkbuster (for example) which BF used to have.

with battlefield having like 50+ players, one cheater in the server isn't going to completely ruin the game

Disagree, a single cheater can ruin the game. It doesn't happen in a vacuum. Players from the opposing team will quit the match when they encounter someone blatantly cheating, now one team is not only outnumbered but dealing with a single OP operator thanks to them cheating, which causes more people to quit.

+1 that a single cheater can ruin the game. Especially if its obvious. Thankfully my experience with cheaters was minimal in BF3 to almost non-existent in BF4. I also do recall Punkbuster doing its job in BF4 showing in the game log that it was relentlessly kicking and banning players with hacks installed.

Hopefully it isn't a problem. It does require secure boot but not TPM enabled. I have secure boot on but TPM disabled.

If anti-cheat wasn't on this past weekend I hope they turn it on this weekend to see how well it actually works. Valorant still gets cheaters using the same kind of anti-cheat so probably not.

Could be that they have another part to their anti-cheat that will only be enabled on launch and that part requires TPM. Would make sense to give cheaters time to buy the game before mass banning. Some cheaters will even rebuy the game and new cheats so it can be good business as well.

It's actually quite surprising how much difference one player can make in a BF game, even if they aren't cheating. For example, if one team has an ace of a pilot that the opposing team can't challenge with their own ace, it's game over and won't even be close. Dude will just be bombing infantry and rocketing armor the entire round. Once you get another jet/chopper up there to challenge them, they're busy dog fighting while the ground war continues.

The server will get filled. I remember some cheater in a tank in bf5 that was wrecking everyone. Beside that one game, the few other encounters I had were forgettable. play a game like overwatch where its 5v5, a cheater in that ruins the game. you get penalized for leaving the match. battlefield, join another server.

I do agree that you can just swap server, but the cheating I saw in the past in BF titles was making it unplayable for the whole server, since it it was just one guy insta killing everyone, sometimes even just from their spawn and potentially without firing a shot. Seen the same thing happen in BF3, BF4, BF1, BFV and also Battlefront 2. I suppose some flaw in the Frostbite engine but I have no idea.

I don't know why I've never seen that in other games, but those BF cheaters tend to be on the very stupid and very crazy side for whatever reason. There's of course some pure aimbot/wallhacks too, but they're less obvious and less impactful.

And those will always exist but having some anti-cheat is better than nothing as long as it doesn't ruin the experience for legit players by ruining performance/stability.

Private servers are not even the miracle solution some might claim, good players were getting kicked/banned on BF3/4 servers constantly for being "too good" by the admin standards, that even happened to me when I was in choppers/tanks/planes, even though I'm not exactly a god but I have my moments.

The only solution is for people to stop being dicks. Good luck.

It’ll get filled via matchmaking putting people in, then once they see their team getting destroyed thanks to the cheater they quit almost immediately. You’re never going to make that deficit up. The round will end with a lop sided result almost every time with very few people left at the end who where there at the beginning.

The game already has 600k pre-orders on Steam alone (it's multiplatform and on multiple storefronts so true number is higher). Not surprising as feedback from the open beta was highly positive.

I don't even notice cheaters, only the ones that are really obvious...how will you notice someone who has a wallhack...too much of that happens in a map with 64 players, with tdm and fewer players the chances of detecting a cheater are already higher.
What does it mean that there are a lot of preorders? Will the game keep the price high all the time or will it drop the price early for peasants?

You can say that about other multiplayer games too. Especially when I play World of Warships, lol.

That's gotta be GTA levels of pre-orders which would be really damn good news.

I preordered. Beta 1 was good enough that I know I’ll buy the game and it’s my small contribution to give Activision the kick in the pants they need to develop Call of Duty instead of Call of Fortnite. That along with not buying BO7
