Battlefield 6

I don't feel like digging up the quote, but I'm definitely not playing this like COD lol. I haven't played a COD game since like the early 2000's.

Conquest is just like watching second grade soccer, people zerging mindlessly to points.

I did just try Breakthrough and that felt quite a bit better as far as the gameplay.

My personal opinions aside, they did a great job with graphics and performance.

Someone wrote that bf3 and bf5 were for pc and were adapted for Playstation...is that true?
What's the situation with BF6? That game is also coming out for the weak xbox one S. Apparently BF6 is a pure console game in terms of movement settings and not a PC game. And does it come to the point where PC players and console players play mixed on one server or is everything separate?

Nah, depends on your base fps and Nvidia reflex. In many games, the added input lag can be very little so long as you start with a base fps of 60-70. If you have that you might see an extra 10ms, on top of your default 20-25 then. The advantage is that you get far better smoothness and motion clarity to gun people down with ;). It's no good at low fps base frames, of course. However, he said his base is over 100, so it's all gravy from there.
It increases input lag regardless of base fps. Find me one review stating otherwise. He’s also running 4k on a 5070Ti so the base gps won’t be sky high. FG has its benefits but in a shooter where MS matters, it has more drawbacks. At least if you’re trying to give yourself the best chance of coming out with a W in a gunfight

That's because it is closer to COD than BF. The gameplay I have seen in every Conquest map boils down to Zerg swarming flags and constantly running in circles, or backwards and forwards, before an enemy gets behind you. There is no point playing defensively or strategically because the minute you stop moving you get swarmed from behind or the side. Players don't get penalised for running and gunning, if anything the game mechanics reward this behavior, and you can see it happening in real time where people choose to instantly respawn rather than waiting for a medic that is literally right next to them. This can be easily fixed by slowing down gameplay (get rid of ammo pool and infinite sprint, only allow spawning on squad leaders, increase respawn delay, etc), but EA/DICE are not interested in classic BF gameplay.....rather than offering something unique they want to pull in the COD base even though they have been persisting with this failed strategy since BF3.

I will bet my left nut it is because of DICE's shitty netcode and low server tick rate. Battle(non)sense has covered this phenomenon extensively ever since BF4 which was supposedly fixed, but it wouldn't be the first time DICE broke systems supposedly fixed in previous games.

it plays nothing like cod. How much time do you have in game?

Waiting for a medic is case by case. If there’s one near me and I have reasonable coverage I’ll wait and call for medical if I have enemies swarming I’ll hold space bar and respawn. Nonsense in getting a squad mate killed. Time and place. That’s how you play the game. You don’t always wait and you don’t always give up. If you can’t recognize when to do that, or when to hold an objective vs advance on another or even take defensive posture a but outside the immediate objective, you’ll struggle.

I think the miscommunication between some of us here is that, I'm willing to bet, half of us have played games like Squad/ARMA/Hell Let Loose and see BF6 as pretty close to COD. The other half haven't played those more sim-like games and don't see BF6 as similar to COD.

Just my two cents lol.

They already mix controller and MK when needed. Mostly had MK squads, but occasionally had controller player in my squad as well. BF3 was definitely a PC first game as I remember it. Wasn't too enthusiastic about BF V as the beta really felt like a reskinned BF1 (the WW1 game) with some minor changes.

Bring back commander mode and I might be interested in BF again. I used to love switching up ground pounding with RTS-like support on BF2, or even running around as a commander dropping artillery and supplies as needed when people weren't playing as squads properly.

Could be that people have unrealistic memories of how the older BF games are as well. My feeling is that BF, at least since BC2, has always been that middle ground between super realistic and arcade. It is also possible that those complaining about BF6 being like COD have never played COD like it is possible to play it. Take advantage of everything movement wise in most COD games since BO2 and BF6 moves at a snails pace when you compare them. TTK is much lower in COD along with faster movement, guns that are much more accurate especially when moving etc. Compare BC2, BF3, BF4 and BF6 to millsims and the BF games are much faster. I did play a little bit of realistic shooters and you move super slow and careful in them, never played a BF game where people played like that.

i enjoyed the Open Beta,

I mean I just had a breakthrough game where I ended like 60/5 or some shit and I had a 50 kill game with the shotgun yesterday with single digit deaths.

If you're actually getting revived, your deaths will be very low.

Number is not at all impossible
I would believe it if it's the city map, but the mountain map?

That's my highest kill map haha, on attacking no less.

Just play angles near points. Shotguns work waaaay further than you'd think, especially with slugs.

Even if you didn't kill in one shot, it's probably enough damage in most cases to get the assist as kill from someone else cleaning up.

I have read hat at launch BF6 will launch without ray tracing, which I actually don’t mind. I can’t remember if 2042 released with it or it was later added, but it did significantly drop frames. When I was at 4k it was a struggle even with DLSS to get above 100 with a 3080. I don’t think ray tracing is always necessary for a good experience, especially fast paced MP shooters

Played from BF42 to BF4 then lost interest. Played this and enjoying it. It's not quite BF tho. There's no learning curve to the guns, specially sniper rifles. Gone are bullet drops, very minimal target leading required, barely any gun sway when scoped/zoomed , guns feel weightless specially when changing weapons/items, all the sliding I just can't, respawn and ttk too fast so you should just expect to die, since dying and respawning is too fast expect to die quite a few times before you can reach objectives, nobody revives although it could be just that players haven't realized yet that all classes can revive, overall just doesn't feel like Battlefield.

IKR. You're being kind. We get it Blade-Runner, you think BF is trash but here you are spreading toxic negativity that won't change the minds of those that pre-ordered.
And what can you do with that preorder? Nothing, that's how I used to be, not anymore.
Preorder yes, but then let's say give something good in return and not pay for new dresses for the phantom edition. EA and dice are known for their BF not working, glitching or making changes every now and then, etc. What kind of game will be on 10.10. is the question.

Definitely cheaters, got into a game of breakthrough and the top player on the other team went 70-7, with a shotgun.
Not an indicator of cheating at all. That guy simply had medics nearby who kept reviving him. Ever since BF3 there's been lots of different ways to pad your k/d if that's what you're going for. It's not always fun and not always a net contribution to the team. In BF1 people who went 80-1 used to park a tank on a hilltop and "snipe" capture points hundreds of meters away entire game, yet would still lose the match.

Wonder what the true numbers are. There are EA, Epic and consoles as well. I am on the EA app as I don't want to link my steam and EA accounts. I also have all my previous battlefields on that client and account.
probably safe to double it.

I preordered BF 5 and 2042, I learned my lesson, especially with 2042. It took a year for that game to become what it should’ve of been at release. Preorders have become pretty much a con job.

After 8 hours of playing the beta and that being the only person on an open map that managed to use a close range weapon to wreck the other team, it's a very good indicator they were cheating.

Edit: I have zero regrets with pre ordering, I am pretty sure I am moving away from COD after 5 years.

As for tanks I notice players don't jump into them when available. I don't think they realize how valuable armored vehicles are or are afraid they'll be a big target.

Because IMO, they get killed far too quickly. They seem quite awful as it is currently. The IFV works nicely for killing infantry. Those go quick. The tanks just sit there to. Needs some balance. 19 rounds is too low as well. I would often shoot well over 30 shots in some matches, especially on maps like Silk Road where you could shoot from far distances. 3-4 shots to kill a tank, add another shot or two more a miss or if they have a repairman on it. Seems like you will be constantly driving back for ammo.

I think tanks are fine, the beta maps are just too cramped for mechanized vehicles to move thus becoming sitting ducks. I have a feeling they'll have better survivability in larger open maps

On Liberation Peak, I was destroyed by a jet in a tank. If the maps are too big, then tanks will constantly be hit by jets. I don't know what the situation is with attack helicopters. In Battlefield 1, I used to destroy attack planes every now and then with a large tank, I don't think that's the case here. And no one ever repaired me, the BF1 tank had self-repair. I would spend hours and hours, sometimes an entire round in the tank, mostly alone.
On these small maps, you have to have someone with you to repair your tank at all times. If there's no fix, you're done for pretty quickly.
It says on Steam that I've accumulated 13.4 hours in the beta, really a lot, I think I reached rank 13, I'm always somewhere in the middle or a little below, it's not like I'm any good. I spent a lot of time in tanks as a commander or machine gunner.

Tanks are sitting ducks in urban warfare , that’s also true in real life as well. It’s difficult to maneuver, and too easy for infantry to pick them off from the buildings and rubble. Liberation peak seems to me the only map a bit more friendly for tanks.

Just ask the Germans in Stalingrad and the Russians in Berlin, tanks didn't do so well in urban house to house street to street fighting as well.

You’ve complained more than anyone and haven’t even played the game. It’s free, even you can afford free.
I have played it, I didn't think I needed to state the obvious before making all the shills and fan girls cry by being mean towards their favourite multibillion dollar corporation.

Tanks are fine, they just don't work for solo players anymore. You need minimum 1 teammate to make it work, preferably more. It's different from older titles, but not in a bad way honestly. Repairing vehicles gives a lot of points as well, which encourages people to do it. This is especially noticeable in breakthrough, when I pick a tank there I always get more than 1 engineer rushing to patch me up.

You can even top the scoreboard if you are fixing a tank the whole game and the driver is decent (and getting shot at enough by the enemy). I know because I've seen that happen three times already.

On the other hand, choppers and planes are useless. They literally kill nobody, I have 17h in the beta and never died to either, despite playing the mountain map the most...

The mobile AA is also very weak against ground stuff, which would be fine if there were flying targets to shoot at, but they're usually dead long before anyone finds the AA lol. The BF4 mobile AA was very OP though, but there should be a middle ground.

You’ve been crying for several days. I don’t think it’s the fanboys who are sensitive.
Oh I think they are very sensitive, almost like they can't stand anyone who doesn't validate their spending decisions and herd mentality. But keep telling yourself that I am crying if it makes you feel better, I don't care because I don't intend to reward EA/DICE with time or money for their crappy products.
