Kalston it is definitely the real deal, 27" IPS, no input lag, 2560x1440 with 70~100hz (Catleap is higher), with at least decent panel uniformity being reported by everyone so far. And prices ranging between $369 to $400 depending on model and seller. Some of us have zeroed in on the Catleap Q270 SE model (no speakers) because it's consistently getting the higher refresh rate. They are all glossy, even the tempered glass model, the tempered glass model may be plagued with dust specs so careful with that one. I'm guessing there's decent quality control on the actual panels because there hasn't been any reports of dead pixel clusters, there are reports of the occasional dead/stuck pixels but nothing that would indicate totally inferior quality control... yet.So this is the real deal then? IPS with about 100hz, more than 1080p, no input lag, decent uniformity? Well I can't afford it right now but this seems too good to be true. Wish it was matte though (don't care about the grain), I can't stand glossy. edit : did I read that correctly or is it just without AG but not glossy either?
edit : Does the refresh rate do it justice with the lack of overdrive though?
Can the pixel refresh keep up with higher refresh and motion? Maybe to a certain degree, there was a link someone posted that had a chart comparing different IPS panel pixel response times. The Catleap & Shimian were not the best but not even close to the worst either.
Edit: found it (thank you SirHCB)
Photobucket resized the darn pic but here's the original.
And yes it would normally qualify as too good to be true which is why this thread is as popular as it is. I'm in the same boat as you, dying to purchase one, but the play funds aren't there atm but will be within months.
