I am really surprised at some of the windows install sizes people are reporting. I have Win 8 pro on a 128gb SSD and with just windows, office 2013, and chrome i am at 43.2 gb. This is a fresh install and i have no games, movies, music or anything installed.

Personally I have no issues with windows 8, Start8 really helps out a lot and if metro is not your thing then it will allow you to disable it. I also run it on a notebook as well and really do not have many issues but as others said a mouse makes a world of difference.

Was the usb video adapters that you used usb 2 or usb 3? I am hoping since i would want a usb3 adapter that it would help with the lag.
