LCD flicker or shimmer

So i am totally out of ideas and come seeking help. i have a desktop with 2 asus ve205 monitors, about 3 weeks ago 1 of the monitors started a flicker or shimmer. After a few mins it would normally stop. i went on vacation for a week and now when i turn both monitors on the 1 just keeps flickering every few mins. I have tired new power cables, new dvi cables, different outlets. updated the vid card drivers to latest. also changed monitor to other dvi port on video card and changed refresh rate. The issue is only happening on the 1 monitor and i am totally out of ideas.

Nvidia 8800 GT
asus ve 205N
Windows 7 32bit
 
Sounds like the backlight is going, just replace the backlight (easy to do generally and cost effective).
