Funny :)
It was working normal, but I just disconnected all fans from the Nexus 2 header and as I had enough fan headers on the motherboard, I connected them directly to the mobo.
Then I contacted Fractal, and they sent me a new power cable for the board and Nexus 2 board itself for free. I...
So I was exchanging PSU, on my Fractal Case. When I was trying to close the case, a cable accidentally got pulled out from the case's fan controller board (Fractal board on top right-hand corner of the case). I wrongly assumed that it was the fan cable that had got pulled off, it was actually a...
I don't think anyone will buy it now (in Europe), and at what price?
I have spare power supply, case etc, I could just build a cheap internet PC with it. On amazon it still has 4.6 stars out of 5. So maybe we hear more from the unlucky ones? If it fails again, then my Dark Hero is still...
Hmm! I was thinking of picking a cheap 5900x (prices dropping all the time) and building a backup PC. So would you trust this mobo? Warranty still valid for another 2 years! or maybe just buy a 5600x and use it as an internet PC! Never again will I buy expensive mobo!!!!
I RMAed a dead Asus X570 Mobo and moved all the parts to a different MSI Mobo. Now I just received a new Asus Mobo sent back to me. Basically, I have 2 x X570 mobos now.
I might build a second system on it.
Currently, I have 2 x 32GB 3600 RAM. I was thinking of just stealing one stick from my...
Just an update, I had RMAed the Dark Hero due to the "Error 4d" and had transferred all the components to an MSI Tomahawk.
Now 1 month later I got a non-retail plain brown box in post back, it has a different serial number Dark Hero. It has all the plastic foils still stuck on the motherboard...
UPDATE-
Ended up buying the MSI Tomahawk and 5900x.
First I pulled the 5950x from the Asus Dark Hero MOBO along with the 64GB RAM, and it all runs fine on the MSI Tomahawk. Managed to finish my project and sent it to the client. Can breathe now :)
Will RMA the Asus Dark Hero MOBO.
Will...

Well this morning the PC is booting (no 4d error, like last night). wtf? Can't trust this MOBO, ethernet port stopped working last month too.
MSI Tomahawk, I need to update the BIOS for it to work with 5900x/5950x, correct? Liek this-

I woke up after hardly getting any sleep! Saw your post and went to pull the memory out. Access due to the cooler is difficult, so I decide to start the PC anyway, and I did not get the error and could enter the bios, loaded F5 default settings and I could log into windows normal. Done 2...
Hi, I am a 3d artist and was using Asus Dark Hero$$ MOBO with AMD 5950X.
1 month ago the Ethernet port failed and just now the MOBO has failed with "4D" error. CPU red light on the MOBO is on too. I am in the middle of a project, so no time to do deep research as I need to assemble it fast by...
UPDATE- Today while working, I was opening a work 3d file. It said the texture file could not be found (textures are in separate internal HD). I was like wtf. I restarted the PC and could not enter the BIOS screen. Just hangs at the press F2 or Delete button to enter Bios screen. Restarted and...
1 week ago there were thunderstorms. This Dark hero PC was not connected to the router back then, just to my second PC for networking. The second PC then was connected directly to the Modem/router.
So I remembered that I have an old usb/ethernet hub in my storage box. I dug it out and connected it to the Dark hero and the Ethernet worked straight away. Also, my mapped network drive from and to my older PC worked instantly, too.
Does that prove that the Intel and Relatek ports have gone...
Did not work.
I have warranty till 2024 on this board in my country. I can't send it for RMA as I am in the middle of a big project. I could build a second PC and then send this board for RMA, but I don't want to be pressured into building a new PC when new gen AMD CPUs are on the horizon...
I have and there is no problem with the cable or the router/modem. I pinged the modem/router from an older PC and all good. When I ping the modem/router from the Dark Hero PC I get "General Failure"
I have no experience of Linux, but I Googled and did live Linux USB boot. I opened Firefox in Ubuntu, but the page did not load. I then switched the Ethernet cable from the Realtek port to Intel one, and the page still did not load.
Was I supposed to enable anything inside Ubuntu or is that...
I have a modem/router from my ISP. Ethernet cable from the router goes directly into my Dark Hero. If I disconnect the cable from the Dark Hero and connect to an older PC, then the internet works fine on that old PC.
Won't that suggest that the cable and the router/modem are both fine? And the...
No, only did after it stopped working. I have a work project going on, so can't even mess around too much even if I had another board, as I need the machine. I almost feel as if something is blocking the ports, or they have gone bad! But both at the same time? Hmm!
Doesn't the orange light...
I downloaded the latest Realtek driver directly from them, plus ran their diagnostic utility. Still no luck!
The Intel port does not even show up on the diagnostic utility (only the Intel WIFI shows up).
Guys, both my Ethernet ports don't seem to be working today. I have spent the last 5 hrs trying to problem-solve, but have failed to resolve the issue!
I have a Win10 AMD 5950x Dark hero system, until today if I connected the internet Ethernet cable directly to Dark Hero's Intel l211 Gigabit...
Just reporting back, got the GT-1030 delivered today and just now installed it. It is powering my 32" 4k + 24" HD monitor perfectly on Win 8.1 64bit.
5950x workstation is also connected to the same two monitors and I can easily switch between the workstation and the ancient web PC.
Thanks ;-)
Here is the situation. I have a state of the art 5950x based workstation for work (stays offline). I have a second decent PC, but my wife has hijacked it for streaming online classes.
So I am left with an ancient PC for web use. This ancient PC is connected to a 1920 x1080, 24" monitor. My...
Huh? All the films that were covering the MOBO came off easily. What is this plate that has a hidden plastic film underneath it? You are telling me there is hidden film under some plate that I don't know about? Can you point out where it is...
I just can't get past the visually shiny "bow tie" look of JBL. My gym has a DJ and he has them there. I would be looking straight at it all day and going crazy.
Anyway, I had already ordered Cambridge Audio Minx XL for $160 + 2021 Nobsound NS15-G, 100 W + 100 W for $60, Total cost = $220...
Yes, have not counted it out yet.
Btw Cambridge Audio Minx XL, 2 @ $130 got sold out while I was busy reading and watching reviews! It is like a rabbit hole, you get sucked in lol. Plenty of Minx XL still available but at $160.
Local European prices.
Nobsound NS-15G PRO Bluetooth 5.0 Digital Amplifier PCM5102A Decoding 100W×2 with Power Supply (NS-15G PRO)
It is selling for $140 in my country in Europe. Plus I keep reading that it is a fire hazard!!!??
Are there any reasonably priced reputable brands instead?
I work from home 100% and looking for white speakers to connect to my PC. I was using Creative GigaWorks T40 previously, but my wife had taken them. Want to upgrade, was looking at Creative T40 Version II ($120), but the newer version seem to have some green power saving feature that apparently...
