So my motherboard LAN went out the other day. I'm guessing after a thunderstorm a few days before. I wasn't using the rig all week. I got a LAN card I had lying around and stuck it in and everything is working fine but the onboard LAN chip (Realtek) is CRAZY hot, like I can't put my finger on it...
OK I'm not sure Wat happened. Works now. I've tried about 5 times in the last month all of which did the same thing. Maybe a glitch because I clocked post reply then signed in then it would load to the page that says I don't have permission. Oh well, thanks guys.
First off pcie 3 doesn't have any gains over 2 unless running quad sli. No way 4 is gonna make a diff unless some REALLY fast cards come out and your running 4 of them with 3x4k surround lol. As for ddr4 I doubt there will be a diff over 3 considering the 3000mhz+ capable on newest i5/i7.
A lot of people don't realize the reason these newer boards were released on x79. Like the black and the x79-deluxe. The earlier x79 boards had vrm throttling issues because of the small cluster at the top. My p9x79 had it bad enough I had to Jimmy rig a fan mount over the vrm sink. That was...
I googled that card. seams to be a hidden gem. by the looks of the fins behind the fan it has a reference titan/780 cooler under that shroud. can you provide some pics.
^^^ agreed. all fanboy vs fanboy. everyone thought nvidia was just going to roll over and let mantle be "the future of gaming". mantle paved the way for good things to come. only thing I care about is the ability to stay at 120fps in games. hope this does it.
Clearly asrock has had issues and they're doing a favor to the consumer by removing the compatibility of these cpus that suck way too much power then they should. Intel using half the power and significantly faster. It's AMD fault not asrock. Clearly they have issues so they are doing this to...
Lol ya but ram channel a is probably not working because of the broken pin. Y would u put it together if it had a bent pin when you opened it. We're you on crack at the time ?
My point is not to down what mantle does. It is good for people lacking in the cpu department. I'm just saying that even with mantle the AMD cpus cannot keep up with intel. It does make it a much better story for those already on AMD cpu and running 60hz tho. Those running 120hz are still going...
560ti is not the problem anyways. Should easily be capable at playing planetside 2 at near max settings even at 1080p. It's cpu. Overclock that sucked and it should at least make it playable.
Your talking a 3.4ghz i7 vs a 5ghz fx. Clock the i7 close to 5ghz and run a 120hz monitor then compare the two. Massive difference. Even with mantle. I'd love to see a clock for clock review with FX vs i7 and dx vs mantle.
Your average will be higher because cpu bottleneck is not a constant but the situations where the cpu is the bottleneck will effect the minimums. So 290x crossfire would have approximately the same minimum fps. Depending on the resolution. Triple screens obv would be less like to cpu bottleneck...
Nuts to not have any vrm heat dissipation. Vram is understandable as they should be able to tolerate just fan blowing over them. Vrm no. Stock cooler for 780ti is so good your crazy to buy these for them. Only thing that cooler is good for is 290 (x) and only if you throw some heatsink on the...
Your only running 1360x768 ? I'd say it's your cpu holding you back at that resolution.
http://forums.videocardz.com/topic/188-planetside-2-performance-test/
notice the 560ti gets around 40 fps at 1080p max settings. So should easily get 60fps at your resolution. Also notice in the cpu...
Seriously. If the only variable you are changing is the cpu and you get significantly lower framerate. Than that means the cpu is bottlenecking. Wtf r u talking about I don't understand. You think bottleneck means unplayable. It doesn't. It means holding back the potential of another component...
Lol, good to see a 3 generation old stock clocked 2600k still beats the 5ghz 9590. Even with mantle. Nope AMD cpu don't bottleneck. someone needs to move those cpu benchmarks into Mr. 8350 doesn't bottle eck quad 290x thread. Cuz this clearly shows it bottlenecks even 1.
Your never going to get above any better than 80 fps minimum in 64 player maps. No cpu will do that. Your only chance is mantle. Why would you need a constant 120fps for light boost ? Even my 3930k dropped to 90 - 100 fps sometimes with my 670 sli setup.
gigabyte cooler does a shit job on AMD cards. plenty of complaints around the forums of high temps on 7970s and 280x on windforce cooler. plus its $400 on amazon and probably would be on newegg as well if it was in stock.
Every chip is different. Some chips have a lot of leakage and some don't. One chip to another can have massively different vrm temperatures. Plus overclocked 290 have massive increase in vrm temps.
it's insane to me that anybody would use this cooler without buying some little heatsink to...
w35t i doubt it's a problem. It probably doesn't use more than 97% power. Mines never breaks 90% because my amp has a higher tdp then reference boards. It's supposed to be like that. 1240 is likely the limit of your gpu. Power and temp you set the limit for just decides at what point your card...
Runs fine on mine with icenhancer. Still mins of 30 fps tho. Smooth tho I guess. It's no the cpu that is needed for the game. It's nothing. Completely shit console port.
