Yup, that has been my conclusion after several days at looking at all the models.
I think I'm going to go with the B660M Mortar Wifi, which is oddly cheaper than the B660M Mortar (non-Wifi). Maybe it's because it's silver and people don't like the color?
I've noticed the same thing with the...
Well, I'm comparing them because at the moment and in my part of the world they're the exact same price.
It seems like the B660M board is superior on every level (aesthetics, VRM, 7.1 audio, 2.5Gb internet, etc.).. but then why didn't they just make it Z690M?
What am I losing by going with the...
I'm looking for a Micro-ATX board that handle a 12700k.
Seems like the B660M board has better VRM than the Z690M - meaning, that the Z690M board can't even overclock (which is its only purpose) or that the B660M board is overkill (which is not what I've seen according to reviews).
How much...
Yeah, I know that. I eventually stopped OC'ing the 2600k altogether so 5.0Ghz on the 12700K is perfectly fine.
But apparently, 6+2 is just not cutting for that:

I was about to order the D3H before reading that article.
Yeah, I also thought anything above 8 is overkill but then I saw how much the B660 chipset hinders anything above a 12400.
On a 6+2, you have a 20% reduction in performance with my CPU (12700k), at stock settings.
So, I figured my only option is to go with Z690.. but even the ASUS Z690M-Plus...
For instance, the Z690M AORUS ELITE has 12 chokes, each one rated at 60A.
And the Z690I AORUS ULTRA LITE has 10 chokes, but each one is rated at 105A.
Do I simply multiply the amount with the amperage to know which one would allow higher overclocks?
Thanks!
Meaning, if the PSU dies, would an internal HDD be more likely to be fried than an external HDD connected via USB 3.0?
They're both powered by the PSU and finding an external HDD with its power supply these days for cheap is hard.
Then there's the issue of a power surge that could kill that as...
I've had a 3007WFP-HC (30"/1600p/60hz/8ms) for 12 years now and its showing its age when it comes to playing high-paced FPS games.
I'm looking for a second monitor to go alongside it.
I've narrowed my options down to a 24" TN 1ms vs a 24" IPS 4ms (?)
The best ones I've found are the Viewsonic...
Since my PC is exactly 10 years old (2600k/P67) I've decided that it's time to build a new one but I'm a bit out of the loop.
From what I've seen the Ryzen 5900x is the CPU to get, the RAM is easy to figure out, but the motherboard is a bit different.
I'm going to buy the RX 6800 when it...
No problem. As a side note, I bought the M560 a week ago and it's just absolutely terrible.
It slopes down from the base and my hand simply doesn't contort that way. Luckily it's not for me.
I'm talking about buying a $50 sound card and you guys are recommending a $500 alternative.
Am I being trolled?
I'm just looking for something equivalent to my XtremeGamer.
I was going to create my own thread, but this thread is just so fitting.
I'm wondering how much 'better' the ASUS Xonar DSX is over the ALC892.
I'm looking at getting a more affordable board and the DSX or a more expensive board that has the ALC892.
A lot of people are saying it's a huge...
I think my main concern is that the H110 feels and looks cheap.. and also old.
Otherwise, it would be a much better option to go for it and the Xonar DSX.
It seems silly to buy such a cheap board for an i5-7500/GTX 1060 build.
But this is an HTPC tied to some decent speakers.. though it's not...
Yeah, the H110M-S2H is Kaby compatible.
The question is whether the lower quality chokes will handle the i5-7500 and whether the Xonar DSX is a lot better than ALC892.
Doesn't anyone sell X-Fi cards anymore? All I see are jacked up prices for a 10 year-old card.
I'm building a rig for a friend.
i5-7500 and GTX 1060.
The two motherboards I'm looking at are:
GA-H270M-D3H and GA-H110M-S2H
I don't see anything on the H270 that is worth the price (double where I live), except that it's clearly a higher quality board.
Only thing the H110 lacks is 5.1...
I'm on my third G700 in three years. They all last about a year before the double-clicking starts and they become virtually worthless and insanely annoying.
The reason I bought two more after the first one acted up is because I love how it feels.
So, I'm looking for a mouse that is as close to...
You're not really selling it very well, lol.
No, I think I need something from the past decade.
EDIT: Can't change the title, but after some research I'm now looking for a GTX 950/1050 or something equivalent.
Don't know if anyone is gonna see this but I know I can't make another thread.
