Never mind any replies. The Board has been confirmed a dud by ASUS. They are replacing it. This will be the 4th X79 Board. Doesn't say much for ASUS's QC. Think I'll be going with a different MFGR in the future.
Hey man! In Computer Land the Good Ole American Syndrome applies; "Bigger is better." There is no such thing as overkill. The only restraints we have are the shallowness of our pockets. Seriously, purchase the MoBo U R comfortable with.
I purchased this Mainboard because of the glowing no BS review written here on [H]ard|OC, besides; after my own research I was sold on all the SATA 6G Ports & the price point is reasonable compared to ASRock or GIGABYTE. Perhaps it is I have my Board configured incorrectly or there is something...
Found my own partial answer through happen-stance. With the GA-X58A-UD5 Rev. 2; GIGABYTE has it designed in such a way that for one to use the odd multipliers (x19, x21) the HyperThread function in the BIOS must be disabled other wise, after configuring the BIOS for an odd multiplier and upon...
If it runs don't worry about it. Run it till it dies which it probably will not. You will be onto your next system and this RAM will still be running just fine.
- This is what I have: GA-X58A-UD5 (Rev 2), i7 920 with PROLIMATECH Armageddon Twin Tower operating Dual Scythe SY1225SL12SH Fans in Push-Pull; G.SKILL SNIPER DDR3-2133 PC3-17000 CL9-11-10-28 24GB: Two SSD'S both Patriot Pyro SE; 120G & 240G.
- So far my best OC is 4.02G with RAM at 1608MHz...
ON 2010.09.22 @ 0145 AM I posted about inaccurate RAM count during POST. Since then a couple things have happened. First I replaced my 12G Black Dragon GB36GB1333C7TC PC3 10660 with 6G Kingston KHX2333C9D3T1K3/3GX and my inaccuracies during POST RAM count seaced. So I took the Black Dragon SIMMS...
I was not required to send back the heatsink & fan. The iNtel Rep just told me to ship it in a secure container so I put it in bubble rap and purchased a Pakmail envelope and shipped UPS. No sweat at all.
I RMA'D a 920 just 3 weeks ago. It was sent to Louisville, KY and my new CPU was shipped from the same place. I spoke on the phone to a iNtel Rep who was very helpful, he had me read all the information from the plate of the CPU and then gave me the RMA number and address to ship to. I had no...
I am like everyone else here; MeM problems during POST not calculating correctly, sometimes it will be 10GB, then other 8GB and once in awhile 6GB. I run with a i7 920 on a GA-X58A-UD5 with 12GB GEIL Black Dragon PC3 10660 1333MHz CL 7-7-7-24, yes I overclock; depending upon what I am doing at...
