More Memory or Faster Memory

I over heard a few condos in the past by Hard Core Gamers.
And OC ppl. And Programming people and I have my own share of experience in designs world. Where doing some thing is faster with More ram but I never tried Fast ram.

Can more Ram offset the advantages of Fast ram of less GB ?

Like Fast 4GB ram vs 8GB normal Ram

4GB is able to get data on and off pretty fast.
but 8GB ram doesn't need to swap it just places its data on there.

So is this True or just some talk ?

Faster RAM is usually only noticeable in benchmarks. Not enough RAM is noticeable when doing anything.

More RAM is a safer bet than faster RAM.
Of course if you can accurately estimate your maximum memory usage, enough fast RAM is the ideal setup.

The good Ole American syndrome applies here; bigger is better so in your case go for "more" RAM, lots of it!

I agree with this, if you can just get about 8Gb of RAM that is fast and you're set.
