Right, you don't actually need to install the nforce drivers, however, you will need the AMD Away Mode drivers which you will have to install using compatibility mode.
I'm using the latest nForce Win7 x64 drivers from the nVidia website (15.35). It doesn't specifcy nForce4 in the support list but I have a nForce430(MCP61) and it works just fine.
Edit: Oh, and if you use onboard GPU then it's 15.37.
Ya know, it is kind of funny that we don't have more Open Source games out there. We have great OS' that are open but no games that are really mainstream like. It would have to be organized by a organization with public input, but I think it's a great idea.
What next? Taxing pirates based on the value of music or movie they downloaded? That would probably be more effective than the RIAA/MPAA going after them.
Trust me, there are more government computers on the net than you think. However, if you have some shady InfoSec Specialists doing the job or rather not doing their job then this is what happens. Even with all the systems on the net, this shouldn't happen. But, IMO a system that is connected to...
One thing I would love to see that is really a weak point is that there is no true voice activated dialing via BT. Sure, I can download an app, but I still have to push a button therefore still breaking the law in California.
I've brought up a similar thread regarding WoW performance with my specs and I did some tweaking in WoW. Settings 1680x1050 x8 AA w/ all settings on highest except for shadows. I set shadows to lowest and I get about 50-60fps. That is with a Athlon X2 4400+, 4GB DDR2, single EVGA GeForce...
Yes, the system you are trying to access MUST have a password. Windows will NOT let you access it without a password, at least if you are trying to access the c$ share. I would say your best bet is to pull your HD and put it in another system or use an external hard drive carrier with USB converter.
Sure, why not? The economy is causing some people to lose their jobs and homes and become stressful. So, why not tie that with low sperm count? Although, if you lose your job and home you should probably rethink having children.
I would recommend this as well. It will minimize anyone from snooping and trying to get in to your system. Leaving a system open to the net is just begging for a brute force attack.
I'm not sure if this works in XP Home but try this on the system serving the files. Also make sure that the account you are trying to login with has a password set. Also, if you are trying to access c$ the account must also be an Admin account.
Start > Run: Type in 'gpedit.msc'

Well, it appears that maybe I have a combination of CPU/GPU issue. Considering this is a pos Dell mobo and I probably shouldn't spend much money on it anyways I may just start building my new system.
So, I'm looking at doing an upgrade to my system to make my WoW performance a little better. Eventually I will be going Core i7 but for now I just need something to give me a little more power. Anyways, I get about 40-60fps in WoW with my settings in Good at 1680x1050 res with 4x AA. When I'm in...
Yeah, not to get off topic but why couldn't they have given me red led fans instead of blue led fans!? I will just have to get new fans and new power/hdd led's.
I love my Cooler Master 690. It doesn't compare to the HAF except in looks but it has lots of room for my needs. You will also need to buy extra fans for it. It's not a bad deal for the price.
You might consider a external power supply that you can pick up from Radio Shack or online somewhere. Just a 12v with whatever Amperage rating those cathodes use combined. Hook a switch to it and put it under the desk or something and you got a pretty sweet ambient lighting mod. Now, if you were...
Hah, yeah that awesome grace period. Some times at work I will be across the room and the screen saver will come on and I practically dive across the room to move the mouse before it locks me.
What he said... However, if you have Windows XP Home then you are SOL for that feature. If that's the case then try downloading the NT Password Changer. It's a bootable cd that will allow you to change any password within your system. It's not really user friendly but if you read, read, and read...
Anyone know any good powder coaters in SoCal? My local powder coater went out of business :( I may consider just painting and getting a texture to put underneath the paint unless I can find a textured paint.
Here's my new case so far... I got my Dell Inspiron 531 board in there for now untill I get my new i7 setup.
Mods I'm considering is powder coating the case wrinkle black and maybe some adding some neat UV stuff. We shall see
Oh, and yes the pics suck. iPhone has a crappy camera. I'll find...
Some nice setups in this thread. I just ordered mine from newegg last night. It should be here in a day or two. My plans are to strip it down to metal and have the chassis powder coated with a fine textured black. I had considered going red with the powder but that seems a little over the top...
