Could the flickering be a symptom of a bad PSU.. I am of the belief that if the psu is faulty,there would be random reboots,crashes..bsods... which is not the case here.

The vga cable I am using does not have a ferrite core ( cylinder behind the pin). Could that be a reason for the screen to flicker.I was using it for about 3-4 months with no probelm... I will try getting a better quality cable..and test it..

I still see the bars even if I set my display resolution @ 1920x1080 In MPC the file properties mention the resolution of the video as 1920x1080 .

Please correct me if I am wrong My display resolution is set @ 1360x768 which is actually 16:9 aspect ratio same as 1920x1080 , then why do I still see bars while watching full HD content even though my deskop is not set at 1920x1080 but the aspect ratio still remains the same here.

True the native display resolution is 1366x768..but the display card will output only 1360x768 .I'll try to workaround with powerstrip and post the results. Thanks

The image fits perfectly on screen no overscan only quality is poor. In fact even though image was crisp and clear in vga @ 1360x768 it swayed to the right of the screen i had to manually adjust it to the center.
