One of my friend is trying to set up a training lab for one of his clients. Basically they would like to have different images save in a server. So then when you know that you have an Autocad training, you can log in to the server, and tell it that during the next reboot of the lab computers...

those things are slower that bananas. We have a good amount of them fully loaded with 5400rpm hd and they are slow. We are actually thinking about selling them
Yea I haven't read much about the SB600 just about the ICHRxR controller. I got the motherboard as a xmas gift so I can't complain(MSI K9A2 Plat) Here is a pic of my Raid 0 with 64blocks
Make sure you stay away with Promise T3 on board. I tested the same hard drives in Raid 0 between Promise T3 and the SB600 onboard controller and the SB600 out performed the Promise by at least twice as much. I got like 220+mb/sec read with the SB600 and the Promise got 110ish mb/sec. I heard...
So after my horrible attempt to RAID0 2 SAS drive, I started to research about some RAID 0 with regular SATA drives. My biggest concern is the on board SB600 raid controller on my MSI K9A2 Platinum motherboard.I had a horrible experience with the Promise T3 being very limited. I'm thinking...

So I finally got my 2 Seagate 15k.4 146gb in a RAID-0. I loaded the OS and the drivers(Vista SP1 64bit) and then decided to run HDTune. I was NOT impressed at all with the results. My friends dual 320gb Seagate 7200rpms in RAID-0 get way better numbers. What am I doing wrong.
