    rivets or screws?

    depends, in some places screws/nuts are fine. In areas where you need a flush face, screws/nuts wont work as they stand off the face of the metal a good bit on both sides.

    if you use a tap, it will thread the hole, just make sure you use the right size for the stand offs you have and you wont need glue, they will just screw right in.

    1x1xwhatever: http://www.tapplastics.com/shop/product.php?pid=150& no idea on the aluminum, could always get acrylic for that too. you can tap the .22' sheet yourself to add the stand offs, a small tap isnt expensive.

    new case is antec 182 the motherboard is ECS C19-A SLI v1.0 the 3 pin connection on the case does have an empty center slot so i think i can switch the wire there, ill try.
