post here list of silent/quiet cases out there...

you can make many cases silent with the right components inside. you need to be more specific

Any case can be silent and quiet depending on the fans and HSF you use. In addition, adding sound dampening material to a case would help cut down the noise a bit.

But right the top "quiet" case is the Antec P182 and Antec Solo

Yes, but I think his goal is to find a good case to put components in that will quite it that either is already setup for silent pc'ing that would either already have sound dampening built in or is setup to be good for DIY silencing.

So telling him to use quite components doesn't really help him.

Having said that, probably the most popular case family for a Silent PC are is the Antec Sonata series which have sound dampening, rubber grommets, and usually come with a Antec PSU tuned for noise. Some (maybe all I haven't been keeping up lately) also have rubber mounting strings for your drives.

Yeah those Antec cases are QUIET. I have Antec solo as my workstation and Antec P182 for my gaming rig. I did use some Nexus120mm fans and YATE LOON(same as Nexus) fans for my P182....I LOVE THEM!!!:D

hey guys what about the cosmos 1000????

thanks for the link.
thanks all.

if you have the money for the cosmos go ahead it's a really nice case and has some features like those pull out hd "cage" thingys. But for the price the p180/p182 is very good and the only issue would be the psu cable length.

Ultimate Quiet?

Just get a benchtop thingy like this (then the stuff that still gets hot can just convect)...

And then run all the hoses into another room where you can use a radiator w/ fans, or just use an array of passive radiators like these:

FWIW, I made my own 6' tall version of those innovatek convection radiators by buying a eight 6' lengths of starfinned pipe commonly used in greenhouse heating...

The computer doesnt even raise the temperature in the pipes hardly, and it looks like a piece of art on the wall. There are also loads of passive radiators like this sold in Europe/UK... look at B&Q online for example (the UK Home Depot). They are used for heating with hot water... but they also make great radiators for computers... and some are just sick looking.

That is GREAT!
Are you using a "normal" pump?

I started with using an eheim 1250, AC, and an AC relay (PCI slot), but Im starting to think that I could use an innovatek/aquacomputer DC eheim and be able to get just as good flow through smaller pipe (the DC ones produce more pressure).
