“AMD Radeon “Gaming” GPUs To Incur Another Price Bump This Quarter, Report States“
https://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-gaming-gpus-getting-another-price-bump-this-quarter/
I may buy an intel b580 to play around with especially with xess 3.0I will continue to ignore buying computer parts until the AI bubble properly crashes.
This is my plan, I may keep an eye out for fairly priced second hand hardware (yes, it does exist if you wait and are fast enough to contact the seller). But TBH, my PC still performs really well and I'm more than satisfied, so I'm in no rush.I will continue to ignore buying computer parts until the AI bubble properly crashes.
Console prices and their games are going up, too. No real refuge to be had there.Another price hike for Radeon cards... getting really tired of this trend. Seems like AMD is just following Nvidia's lead now without caring about the budget segment. For anyone curious about how these tech companies actually scale and what Real seed funding amounts look like in the startup world before they become giants, there's some solid info out there. Crazy how much capital flows in while gamers just get stuck with higher bills at the end.
Hope the mid-range market doesnt die out completely or console gaming will be the only choice left soon.
You know those companies have to buy RAM too, right?Another price hike for Radeon cards... getting really tired of this trend. PC is so cooked for at least a couple of years.https://www.costco.com/p/-/sony-pla...636?DM_PersistentCookieCreated=true&langId=-1
ps5 with bluray + 2 controller for $499 that an extra controller better than the original MSRP ($450 digital with 2 controller), while $500 of 2020 is like $620 today...
Don't consoles just download more ram?You know those companies have to buy RAM too, right?
I think that last time AMD gave number for their gaming segment:Another price hike for Radeon cards... getting really tired of this trend. Seems like AMD is just following Nvidia's lead now without caring about the budget segment.
I personally think AMD is a long term winner, but probably currently over priced in terms of EPS.I think that last time AMD gave number for their gaming segment:

Not sure if they follow Nvidia (who have a lot of gddr7 issues AMD does not has) it is not like they big margin to play with, they could just following vram pricing force and their own mi-4xx/epyc product family priorities,
Hard to say, they are bit expensive vresus Nvidia/broadcomm right now in forward p/e ratio and what not, but they have more room to growth in percentage because of how low they come from I imagine being the logic, I am keeping all of mine for sure, AMD becoming a trillion company in the next 5 years would not be some big surprise.I personally think AMD is a long term winner, but probably currently over priced in terms of EPS.
What's messy is the high flying companies are there because of AI stuff, and it's early days for AI. Who knows, maybe NVidia will turn out to be the 3DFX of the AI era. Early leader, then someone else has a better idea and... splat. It's entirely possible someone could come up with a better way to do AI and all of a sudden all the chip design companies doing AI stuff crash.Hard to say, they are bit expensive vresus Nvidia/broadcomm right now in forward p/e ratio and what not, but they have more room to growth in percentage because of how low they come from I imagine being the logic, I am keeping all of mine for sure, AMD becoming a trillion company in the next 5 years would not be some big surprise.
That depends a lot on x86's future. If AMD can improve their x86 efficiency and performance to the point where ARM is no longer a consideration, then AMD could easily have a dominant position in the market. The future of GPU's is iGPU's, because the cost of low end graphic cards don't make sense economically anymore. Unless something good happens to the economy soon then iGPU's maybe the future of gaming for PC.I personally think AMD is a long term winner, but probably currently over priced in terms of EPS.
RTX 5090 owners ran out of kidneys.
People will argue with me, but I see CPUs in 10 years being more than able to handle running AI models via SIMD and dynamic vector sizing like exist with risc-v ISA. The thing is, the single thread performance bump is getting fractionally smaller each new gen, because there isn't a lot of room there. But you can add more cores and more vector performance with an easier programming model until you're suddenly hitting nearly 2000 TOPs on Zen 10 (or whatever) with just a cpu running pytorch. I know people will think that's crazy, but that is my prediction...toss in HBM and 1gb 3d cache stacks on a 256 core cpu (The Threadripper version) with dual dynamic vector operations per clock and FMA giving you 2 ops per lane of that and 7ghz, and you're probably close to that number...What's messy is the high flying companies are there because of AI stuff, and it's early days for AI. I think the separate NPU chip can go away & be merged into CPU but GPU will remainPeople will argue with me, but I see CPUs in 10 years being more than able to handle running AI models via SIMD and dynamic vector sizing like exist with risc-v ISA. Your 3080 is better at DLSS 4.5 upscaling than a 5050 would be. It'll take a bigger hit using DLSS 4.5 compared to earlier DLSS versions than a newer card would, but it's far more powerful than a 5050. No need to buy a 50 series card to play with the new DLSS stuff unless you want to play with multi-framegen.I was gonna buy a 5070 as a replacement for my 3080 and 6800xt but it's price in Canada has increased a lot. While the 9700 non xt is still slightly cheaper. Which is a shame cause I rather use dlss than fsr but I'm still more or less waiting on the nvidia/vulkan fix for linux before I really am wanting to commit.
I on other hand want to grab a cheap 5050 (they are kinda expensive here) in order to Play around with dlss 4.5 upscaling with it, since it's new upscaling is like magic. Shouldn't have any issue running 720p but upscaling to 1440p.
Fully aware, but its for testing purposes. As I said, to "play around with"Your 3080 is better at DLSS 4.5 upscaling than a 5050 would be. I'd be thankful to afford a card at all if that were my only choice. He should just make a 17 minute video showcasing all those toys on the shelf behind him. If all I could afford was a 5050 rtx I would cry.

are the Tech Tubers shilling again from their showcase backdrops? He should just make a 17 minute video showcasing all those toys on the shelf behind him. If all I could afford was a 5050 rtx I would cry.

Well you can get 60 fps with BL4 with a 5050 pretty sure he's at 1080p
There's a limit to how much you can increase prices before consumers give up buying.“AMD GPU Prices Rebound Slightly As Demand Drops
by Cpt.Jank Today, 20:16 Discuss (0 Comments)
It's no secret that GPU prices have skyrocketed lately as a result of increased AI data center demand. This has been especially true for any GPU featuring more than 8 GB of VRAM, like AMD's Radeon RX 9060 and 9070 series. However, while AMD GPUs were previously seen as a viable alternative when NVIDIA GPUs were unaffordable or unavailable, that increased demand resulted in price spikes of up to 40% by December 2025. This is based on Japanese data collected by Gaz:Log, who also found that, since that massive price hike, reduced demand has forced retailers to drop prices for both the RX 9070 XT and RX 9060 XT 16 GB GPUs by as much as 15% and 20% respectively.
Obviously, this is just one market, and it can't be guaranteed that events will play out similarly in other regions, but it is an indication that hardware pricing may be reaching a tipping point, after which we may see prices stabilize or fall slightly in response to reduced demand. It's also worth noting that AMD and NVIDIA have both been rumored to be planning to effectively increase MSRP in early 2026, which would result in price increases of at least 10% across the board. This is on top of a late 2025 price increase of $20-40 on both 8 and 16 GB GPUs.“
I notice Best Buy suddenly has plenty 5070 TI in stock but $1000. Wonder how long they'll sit on them? There's a limit to how much you can increase prices before consumers give up buying.
If new cards don't come out until 2028 I suspect they'll sell all of them soon enough.I notice Best Buy suddenly has plenty 5070 TI in stock but $1000. Wonder how long they'll sit on them?
Or their credit cards get maxed out. ;-)There's a limit to how much you can increase prices before consumers give up buying.
Credit card debt is wild right now. There are some credit cards that have 40% interest rate. Americans just fill these up and throw them aside. Foreclosure rates have jumped up by 32% compared to last year. I think we're in a recession.Or their credit cards get maxed out. ;-)
That last year comp was historically really lowForeclosure rates have jumped up by 32% compared to last year. I think we're in a recession.
Not particularly, headline never adjust for inflation, population growth and credit cards usage (as cash disapear more and more), like the stock market nothing special for everyday to be the highest new record seasonnaly adjusted in credit card debt (in non-inflation adjusted, non population growth adjusted and non transaction volume growth adjusted, of course, why everyday until tomorrow not be a new record, that would be special)Credit card debt is wild right now.
Not possible. I have it on good authority from members from this very board how AMD had the greatest launch in GPU history for their top tier luxury 9070 and 9070xt cards. There were even dozens upon dozens of pictures of very happy customers walking out of actual brick and mortar stores with their purchases.considering nvidia gaming revenues were down year over year for q4, that 36% increase could be due to a lot of non datacenter exclusive but non gaming gpu either like RTX 6000 cards as pro-viz was up, (or q4 2024 was solid for switch 2 build up or simply difference between when nvidia sales versus when they hit retails channel that get tracked),

I'm sorry, but I just can't believe that Radeon lost market share again with such a successful launch.
