It was basically a paper launch, a number of the MC stores only had 4 5090's, can you imagine camping for several days and being the 5th in line. Not only that but a number of games that were supposed to have "day zero support" for DLSS4 was a bunch of BS. Also the Nvidia app that claimed you could override and use the new DLSS and FG model is broken, right now it only seems the updated FG is working for the 4080. In 30 years I've never seen such a garbage release, maybe Windows ME might come close.
 
This has really really hoping that AMD pulls a rabbit out the hat with 9070. Otherwise it's like we are back to the 3k series fiasco.

They better have the will to compete, but they have a long road ahead to catch up to big green weenie in terms of their software.
 
So it's confirmed in the WH press briefing today, 10% tariffs on top of existing tariffs on China to kick in tomorrow by 12am unless there is a breakthrough, that'll inflate the price a bit on these cards.

I was going to say this should cut GPU price a lot, but it is not a tarrif of 10%, it is an 10% extra tariff:
Trump has previously stated a 10% tariff on Chinese imports would be on top of other import taxes charged on products from the country.

I don't think we will see anything change prices. The manufacturers will just lower prices. We might initially, but after a month prices will settle to about where they are.

That sucks, there is a guy on reddit who got a FE from launch day Miami Microcenter and he says the same thing. The coil whine is trash. Let me know when you would like to trade for my MSI 4090 + cash becuase coil wine doesnt bother me and I need the 5090 DP 2.1 for my AW57 UW haha

And how much does it cascade, you are malaysia-taiwan GPU assembler, do you have to track perfectly what percentage of your card component are Chineses parts and play 10% more tariff on those versus what you did before ?

Apparently tariff do care about the origin of part, not just the final product assembly, but how good they are a calculating the percentage and how big can it be as a percentage cost of the GPU versus the Taiwan GPU die, South Korea-Japan memory and assembly-testing, could be small.

I didnt pay attention. I just looked at the charts, haven't had to deal with coil whine in a while. Multi Frame Gen is pretty good if the base frame rate is high enough, I like it and will probably play my single-player cinematic games (which is what I play most of the time) with it on. I was not sold on it but it's pretty good. Guess its time to get a 4k 240 monitor.
