Following him after you kill flint to the aft end of the boat through a treasure room to where his boat is that takes you to sanctuary?

Yes I did that and quit the game. The next time I ran it it spawned me all the way back to Southern Shelves.

Right because it always spawns you near a fast travel station when you restart the game. I'm assuming you didn't actually go to his boat, listen to his short speech, turn in the quest, then take the boat from southern shelf to the next place, you just kinda got near the boat then quit? Because if you just got kinda near the boat and then quit then it's entirely possible you found some bug with that quest that nobody has encountered before because everybody else just waited another 30 seconds and took the boat to the next place instead of just quitting right there.

Yes I think that's what happened. I did listen to his speech and all that but I did not press the button to travel to sanctuary. I finally found his boat waiting near the Southern shelves at the start of the captain flint mission. But since I'm new to the game and the game didn't explain where the boat would be after that mission I got confused. Doesn't help that all enemies, plus bosses, respawn.

Does anyone have a spare, preferably max, Legendary Siren mod? I'm farming away for it without luck. :(

So, anyone else have luck with such a mod?

zap: just got it! :D

 ...and the Leviathans Treasure Room has officially closed. Patched today. I am still weeping. A blow to having fun with this game on UVHM, as legendary drop rates so far have been abhorrent.

Patch info

"(Captain Scarlett DLC) Addressed an issue allowing the treasure room to be re-entered multiple times after defeating the Leviathan."

Time to farm Doc Mercy for infinities etc.

Damn damn damn! I know this is unjustified whining, but still legendary drop rates are silly. I have 700 hours so far and think I found in the realm of around 10-15 legendaries from normal drops. Most of these at low levels where it doesn't really matter in the long run.

I did dozens of loot runs of that room back when I still played, and TBH it was mostly the same useless junk over and over. I still say the loot system is borked.

ya, you might see a piece of legendary bullshit 1 of every 4 runs. The loot system in BL2 destroyed the game for me. The best guns should have been regular guns with exceptional stats, not legendaries for which you have to fight bosses. It made vending machines, slag piles and lockers and chests obsolete since you know you will NEVER find anything except maybe from a boss.

Holy shit, how is the game still fresh after 700 hours?!

Apart from when I farm I strictly play co-op. There are still things to do in the game if you have all DLCs and want to have several lvl 61 characters. I am kind of shocked myself! :D

I have gotten the most incredible items from that room. Bee shields, corrosive Pitchforks, Elemental Infinities, Conference Calls, Shredifyers etc. But I do agree, the legendary loot drop rates are borked.

I agree that there should exist better versions of purple standard weapons. Also rifles are balanced all wrong. No need to use them except maybe Shredifyers.

UPDATE: DON'T UPDATE!

Well it kind of was understood from my prior post. I managed to make it into steam and turn off auto updating of BL2, which means that I can still farm the treasure room. But certainly this is over when the new expansion with increased level cap comes out beginning of September. Meaning no level 72 farming, this way.

According to the update info you linked to:

Rarity of loot drop rates have been increased for enemies level 61 and above

This should give you a glimmer of hope ;)

EDIT: Wait, rarity is increased?... That doesn't seem right...

We'll see about that...

(Captain Scarlett DLC) Addressed an issue allowing the treasure room to be re-entered multiple times after defeating the Leviathan.

Boom, well there you go. Still farmable. :)

Treasure Room has always been meh.. No matter how many times I farmed it, would always come up with crap - even with the 4player difficulty tool.

The four LLM boxes in natural selection annex with Doctor's Orders mission active - now there's something worth farming, as its spitting out a legendary if not two every other run, and a pearl every 10th to 15th run. Helps to have the natural selection annex DLC so you have that fast travel point instead of starting at the other end of the map.

Ultimately the farming crap gets boring though and my interest in the game quickly fades again when I start doing it, usually after a new DLC has come out and I"ve run through it a few times and all thats left to do is farm or roll a new character.

Not true. The torgue machines offer the most powerful pistol - and arguably all-around gun - in the game (DPUH)

you know what is funny....

I have NEVER gotten a legendary ANYTHING...and I'm on play through 2 at like lvl 62 or something.

That is very funny, I have never had a legendary anything either! I think I'm around the same level on my second playthrough also. WTF?

Not sure how that's possible not to get a single legendary after multiple playthroughs, 1) The Warrior Have has a pretty much guaranteed legendary per playthrough after killing him with the moonshot. 2) Killed Terramorphous? As in the "You. Will. Die" quest in the vanilla game? He always drops at least a class mod.

The list goes on.....

Yeah, Terramorphous always drops a class mod. But you still have to farm him to get the one for your class. Just playing the game through without farming, and you will not get much along the way of legendary weapons. If it were not for gold keys, I would have had shit weapons the first few times I played through. Then, after farming the Conference Call, Bee, and Slayer Of Terramorphous mod, I gave up farming myself. It was just not fun. If there is an item that a boss sometimes drops and I have beat that boss, especially if I have farmed that boss unsuccessfully, I have no issue asking someone to dupe the item for me.

Then, my favorite reason to dupe. All 4 of us work on farming an item. The legendary item drops maybe 1/4, 1/8, or even less often. How long do you have to farm to get everyone that item? Screw that, the item finally drops, one of us grabs it, leaves the game, uses a save editor to dupe it, rejoins, spreads the wealth, and we all move on to the next boss/farming event/ or just play.

I'm trying to complete this game, but it's sooo slow. I just hit level 21 and Chapter 12 (after Deadwing), 28h in. The levels go on forever, and the fast-travel stations are far too few. Replaying missions seems insane.

Think I found a legendary SMG (orange, right?) doing the Doctor's Orders/Rescue Deathwing section. Worth a lot of money (7000 range when most of my weapons are 1500-2500), but the stats aren't that fantastic.

Takes hours to level, then you don't get any interesting skills. And having just one power? Thanks, Console Gaming.

Borderlands 2, talk about a lost opportunity.

You know why it's so slow? Because I cant figure out what you've been doing to be at 28 hours and only level 21 on first playthrough :p

Seriously, what have you been doing? I'm at 65 hours, have two playthroughs, a couple characters 10-20, and have spent probably 5-10 hours at the slot machines and idle around town..

I'm completing all the quests incl. plus-objectives. Sure you can do it faster, but sometimes I get stuck on something stupid (was one earlier quest where the fucking map design had me running around an hour trying to find my way to the fucking objective).

I've completed 50 quests so far, that's almost one every half hour once we deduce some time idling.

If we could track more quests that one at a time that would certainly help. I have no patience trying to "optimize" that by hand, switching between quests when I'm in an area. Playing lots of shorter sessions doesn't help either, when you constantly have to re-kill a hundred monsters you've killed two times already.

51. Sadly giving Overlook their medicine added another quest, so no real progress on the todo list there.

While we're complaining, a better UI would probably cut down on the wasted time (and aggrevation). I think they had to put some serious time into making the UI that clunky. Several times I've sold things I didn't mean to sell because the thing highlighted was not the thing under my mouse cursor. It's quite amazing. Skyrim was similarly console-infected, but at least there there's SkyUI to fix the shit. No such luck with BL2 I'll wager.

Edit: 59 quests, 32 hours.

Douple Penetrating Unkempt Harold, just to clarify. Yes that is an insane gun, takes quite a lot of Torgue Tokens to buy, but its achievable. Just farm the Pyro Petes bar.

to be honest I stopped playing the game after the pirate dlc.

You missed out on the best DLC, Tiny Tina's. Highly recommendable.

Bee shield Nerf = turned fun into tedious.

It was totally over powered. The Bee coupled with the right high ROF weapon (and perhaps added fire rate increase skills) is still an incredible DPS situation.

it´s not all in the stats. The red flavor text indicates special abilities. There can be multiple additional variances on one legendary weapon. So don't just look at the stats. Test them out or look them op on BL2 wiki.

UPDATE INFO:
The new update also included an option to buy another 6 slots for the backpack. Very very nice. We are now at 39 back pack slots.

New content
On the 3rd of September the level cap will be increased along with a new map:
http://www.gearboxsoftware.com/community/articles/1082/raising-the-borderlands-2-level-cap

There will be new loot, amongst others new legendary class mods :D

After all the complaining people did (and rightfully so), giving us only 6 more slots is like spitting in our faces. The bank vault's capacity is even more pathetic.

So no, it's not "very very nice". It's "meh".

QFT. That shit is pretty BA. Been playing through it myself.

I finally just got my mechro into UVHM and been having a lot of fun. Ive got almost 100 hours in the game and I still enjoy it quite often. FFXIV just released so I been playing that but my fallback is always some BL2..

It's a free update. Granted I would like 1000 slots, who wouldn't. Whining is too easy.

Odd wording. They'll be releasing DLC that you can buy to have the level cap raised.

Well I was assuming people would inquire, click the link I provided etc. hehe ;)
Sorry if the wording was unsatisfactory.

People who don't want to buy these Packs, should feel good about that decision. The rest of us can buy them and enjoy.

Here is a video explaining it all, also available via the link I already provided. As you can see Pack 1 is included in Season Pass. Pack 2 will set us, who already own SP, back $5.. holy crap I need an extra job to cover that expense :D never mind there is no requirement to purchase any of it. Plenty of content already.

Quite frankly there DLC has been worth the $10 or so they charge IMO at least. The last tiny tina one was free and would have been WELL worth $10. It's extremely well written and a great parody to throwback d&d.

I agree. For me every expense I have had with BL2 have been very much worth it. But I am biased, love the game :D

Tiny Tina DLC is best out of all DLCs so far. Very good. But loot is meh. I found only 1 gun that is slightly better then I already had and that is all.

I am currently in the Treasure Room, looking at three Legendary level 61 shields I don't need. Impaler, Transformer and WTF. Anyone want to join me there and grab them, feel free. Just send me a PM.

I will update here when they are gone...

UPDATE: Shields are all gone.

Bee shield Nerf = turned fun into tedious.

Statements like this make me wonder if some people actually play this game or just regurgitate what they read some whiny console kids on gearbox's forum complaining about. The Bee shield still works fine, still puts out absurd damage paired with an appropriate weapon. Anyone can for example do the mission objectives in the Pirate DLC and get themselves a sandhawk SMG. Or a DPUH out of a torgue machine. And you're still one-shotting most stuff.

Pre-nerf Bee being able to take down raid bosses in a few shots of a CC or Maggie, well I'm not sure how steamrolling the map is "fun" when the challenge is gone.

In any case, still loads of OP gear to be had in the game, if anything it requires a conscious effort (not) to use them except when some enemy or mission becomes impossible any other way.

Wise words DPI. I very much agree.

The only real problem this game has in terms of difficulty mechanics is the GIGANTIC jump with raid bosses. Take Hyperius and his idiotic AOE blast. Only tanky builds can take those. We always feel like we are one or two players short when fighting them. I guess that is why they call them raid bosses.. man I hate them :D
