Wait so for Med settings you can only play with a GTX 570 or 6950 or higher?? That's bull...

That's means they are pushing the envelope a bit. Adds more replayability when you get the 6 series Nvidia and still can't quite get 30 fps with everything maxxed out. Now if it's because they were being lazy programming the game and didn't optimize then....

No, what the statement reads is this: pre-order BY the 25th, and you will get early access on the 27th. Today is the final day to get a pre-order for the early access beta window.

I'm actually not sure. I took this week off to recharge my batteries and play some BF3 at the same time, so I'm in the same boat as you guys.

You people complain when a game DOESN'T bring enough realism and/or graphics eye candy (Crysis 2).

Then you complain when a game DOES bring great graphics and needs alot of graphics card power to do it.

Too funny. You can't have it both ways.....

I'll be glad if current hardware can't max the game at playable frames...nothing kicks hardware progress better than a need for it. Though eyefinity came about due to hardware not needing to be faster as a high priority...

Exactly, seems like people like to just whine whine whine about everything. Nothing ever satisfies them.. even for a moment.

I say, bring on the heavy system requirements! As long as its justified I have no problem with that. If it's like Black Ops which needs a quad core to run well but doesn't offer anything above and beyond MW2 which runs well on a low end Athlon X2 then I'll bitch and complain.

Yes, that is correct for MEDIUM settings.

That was already proven untrue by DICE. The recommended settings are for High.

You guys have to do the math. It's simple. A 580 most MPs past 80fps, BF3 isn't going to cut that in half. Even if the frames are cut by 20%, the user is still above 60fps.
The game would have to be terribly optimized for it to be so demanding. I average 80fps on BC2 everything maxed, now BF3 is going to give me 30-40fps? Yeah, OK.
Disable the useless HABO if it's there, enable MLAA/FXAA and you can max the game easily.

I'm all for a great looking game with high system requirements. Without such games, there is less motivation for companies to put R&D into making faster products. BTW, AMD & Nvidia, I'm still holding out for a new gen of video cards given that the GTX 580 came out last November and the 6950/6970 came out last December...

Ha Ha I couldn't help myself. Just got back from Frys. I returned my GTX 560 Ti. Now I am going to get a Evga GTX570HD for $300 and call it a day...

Hmmm

Seems like no one can get it right.
How much more misinformation will surface in the next 36 hours.

People are just too used to running every game at max settings.

More people wish to max every game than the people who actually do it.
There are many variations of max. Now that we have more efficient implementations of AA, most people can run the highest textures, lighting and shadows.
If you can max out the textures, lighting and shadows, you're doing fine.

It would be funny if by the time the game comes out the recommend video card is like a 8800 GT and everyone including myself went out and spent $300-400 on new video cards when we could have spent far less...

PC gamers are picky, don't worry, they will keep trolling DICE.

We already know the recommended spec for video card and it isn't an 8800GT so...

Considering BFBC2 can be run by an 8800GT (but not max it), I highly doubt that would be recommended for BF3.

I figure if the game looks great at medium settings with my 6870, when the 7xxx series comes out and I replace my 6870, it will look mind blowing awesome.

I just flashed my 6950 to 6970 status, and bought a 6970 to mate with it.

I been waiting. Its go time. Hate and complain, bitch and moan. I hope
this looks good in Eyefinity.

Eyefinity? It will be broken on release and they will patch it just before BF4. Enjoy! :D

Um... Yeah. Eyefinity has been working great for me since the beta of bc2, and I have yet to have a problem with it. I am running a single 5850 and it does great, but come Monday it will have a 5970 to play with.

Only issue I have with eyefinity is that if I jack all the settings to max, the game will CTD after about 20 minutes...drop them down to medium or so and it plays all day long with no problem.

No, USMCGrunt, they were not supposed to come out today. They are supposed to be sent out on 9/27. That's been very clear from the outset. What DICE has said is this: you need to PRE-ORDER the digital version on Origin by 9/25 to get your 48-hour access beta key on 9/27.

Ok. I'm enjoying BC2 now anyways and my new mech board arrives today. I'm ready.
