Your Laptop Picture [H]ere (read first post for rules please)

The 13" is for my wife 'cause her beloved dell m1210 decided to go to laptop heaven. The 15" is mine, sold my early 2008 mbp and m1530 to get it.

The trackpads are the same size. I guess it's just the angle the picture was taken at.

Ok thats what I had originally thought. I must say though that they might just be the greatest laptops ever made.

Here are mines, specs are on my sig.

M1730 / 2560x1600 max res. with Dell 3008 WFP

NP9280 / 1920x1600 max res. with Dell 3008 WFP

Not to shabby eh?

Desktop rig coming soon...

Late 2008 2.4GHz MacBook with 4GB of RAM and a 500GB 7200RPM HDD.

I just setup my barber's Asus N10J with Windows 7. It's kickass.. and my favorite netbook, especially with W7. It's super fast compared to Vista, and the Nvidia 9300M even works with 1080p h264 video. It has a HDMI output and does 1080p24 + 7.1 LPCM without breaking a sweat. I'm pretty jealous of it. My barber is pretty cool, he's into computers/gaming/electronics and builds street/track motorcycles. :p

Damn, if I were in the market for a netbook, that Asus would be my top choice. Very sexy machine!

Is that an e-SATA port on the side? That's something I'd actually upgrade my netbook for, almost as much as a larger display (I have an 8.9" model) or better HD performance... Frankly I'm not very excited about Ion, it looks interesting but until Adobe gets off it's ass and implements some worthwhile hardware acceleration into Flash it's useless for HD online streams (where the Atom struggles the most anyway, since it can otherwise handle up to 720p content reasonably well).

I transfer large files pretty regularly to my netbook over USB though so an e-SATA port would be a big improvement...

It's a HDMI port, not eSATA. Don't worry about HD flash, it sucks anyway. It lags my Intel i7 sometimes. This netbook will playback 1080p h264 and other accelerated video types just fine. In the streaming media realm, it does Silverlight with hardware acceleration just great.

Are you using firefox to do this? I just read an article that it's caused by firefox's session restore system taking a capture every 10 seconds. If you increase the capture rate, it fixes the issue.

EDIT: Here was the one I read:

My new laptop :)

Laptop Specs:

Lenovo W500
C2D T9900 3.0GHz
4GB Mushkin 1066MHz 7-7-7-20
160GB 7200rpm HDD (from factory, no idea which brand, will replace with SSD soon)
ATi V5700 openGL 512MB
15.4" WSGXA+ 1680X1050 (thank GOD i didn't get the WUXGA upgrade, 1680x1050 on a 15.4" is perfect/small enough. WUXGA would be too small/unacceptable)
and the cheapest upgrade, the 9 cell battery.

I love the laptop, absolutely LOVE IT. this is my first lenovo/IBM. Lenovo's surely have a reputation for having excellent laptops, and oh boy they sure do, I'm really pleased with it, never again will I go dell, never, EVER.

Not sure if, or how long, I'll hold onto it, but I just got this earlier this week in trade for setting up a new system. Had no idea it had a docking station or TV tuner. Speakers on the docking station are really nice...loud enough that that I worry about annoying the neighbors.

Came with no drives (added a 40), bad WiFi (added an Atheros G), and a bad DVDDL, which the replacement now works (it wasn't detected before, no clue what the change is).

I have a feeling I'll look at getting rid of it, it's not really fair that I'm the only one that can see it as a TV, I'll probably put our old CRT tv back in its place...

Here is a pic of my Dell mini 9 with 2 gigs ram 32 gig SSD. Retail install of OS X 10.5.7, thinking about upgrading to 10.6 soon but no reason to right now really.

HP zd7000 17"
2 GB RAM, 80 GB hard drive
Intel Pentium 4 HT 2.66 GHz (woot)

Dell Latitude D630 15.4"
2 GB RAM, 80 GB hard drive
Intel Centrino T7250 2.00 GHz

eMachine M5309 15.4"
2 GB RAM, 160 GB hard drive
AMD Athlon XP-M 2500 1.8 GHz (on a good day)

Toshiba Satellite L305-S5955 15.4"

Intel Celeron 900 2.2 GHz

Compaq CQ60-215DX 16"
2 GB RAM, 250 GB hard drive

And for the 2 Acer AspireOnes- I work on the blue one and test the upgrades on it. If I get it right, I upgrade the white one. I did the RAM upgrade on both, upgraded both hard drives to 250 GB, and I'm still working on the bluetooth mouse interior mod on the blue one. Not going so good,

Not pictured: Hubby's HP dv2000 4 GB RAM 160 Gig hard drive "WoW craptop"

My main is a Gateway desktop 6 gigs RAM, Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33 GHz, 640 GB hard drive with an upgraded vid card to push to the TV for 40 inches of goodness.

Got enough there? :p

My emachine has rocked for 4 and a half consecutive years. Not to mention you can't beat the price... Free. I got it for christmas from my stepdaddy years ago.
