My progression is as follows (not including various 6502-based cpus in various video game consoles I've owned since my teens like the Atrai 2600 & Intellivision):

Commodore VIC 20
Commodore 64 (my all-time favorite home computer)
Commodore Amiga
286-based Radio Shack Tandy (my first real PC after my old VIC 20, C64 & Amiga, a hand-me-down from my nephew's in-laws)
AMD 5x86 (Pentium 1 75 MHz equivalent)
Athlon x2 4200
Pentium III Celeron (what a monstrosity that Slot 1 was!)
One more Athlon (can't remember which one)
Intel i5-3570K
Intel i5 4690K

And last (but definitely not least):

Intel i9 10850K (just waiting on the Asus Strix z490-E motherboard which I'm ordering tomorrow)

Intel Pentium 60MHz (Packard Bell as well. Even used a screw driver to pry the CPU from the socket without using the latch release. Then put it back in by force. Minus a row or two (or a few), it still works. Good thing too because it was the first and only computer we had at the time and I used it as a learning experience because I was bored.)

Intel Pentium Pro 200MHz
AMD K6-2 350MHz
Intel Pentium II 450MHz
AMD Athlon 500Mhz
Intel Pentium 4 1.7GHz Willemette (first overclocking experience... to 1.8GHz)
Intel Pentium 4 1.6A @ 2.133 (w/ Intel 850) then @ 2.4 (w/ Intel 845 DDR)
Intel Pentium 4 3.0 HT (socket 478)
Intel Pentium D 920 (2.8GHz: Pointless "upgrade" just to jump on the PCI-e bandwagon)
Intel Core2Duo E4500 @ 3.0GHz
Intel Core2Duo E8400 @ stock (yet another pointless upgrade cause my OC to 3.6? is unstable according to IntelBurnTest.)
Guess I will update my list. Looking back at my post, I totally forgot about having an E4500 and I actually overclocked it. Thought I stopped overclocking with my 1.6A. To add to my list:

Intel Core i3 2100
Intel Core i5 3570k (never overclocked it)

Then went laptop exclusive for ~7 years because of a traveling job and was never home (i7-4700HQ & i7-7700HQ). Now that is over:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800x (went to MicroCenter a few times and wanted a 5600x, but they were sold out and the 5800x happen to be available on my third trip so I just picked it up)

5800X vs 10700K, both same 8C/16T, X = $449 and K = $249, price difference $200. What could've you bought with an extra $200 in your pocket? I thought about getting one but the performance difference was negligible to considering spending $200 extra.

K =

X =

There are plenty of them in Fairfax, VA =>+Cross_Sell+>+Cross+Sell+CPUs+AMD+AM4+Specific
Bought the 5800x back in December when those processor were not as plentiful.

True, I could have saved money and went Intel. I probably should have, but I kind of picked my other parts based on a 5600x build I already planned. Plus, I had intention to get a RTX 30 series or Radeon 6 series (got a 6800xt from this forum) and wanted a motherboard with pcie 4.0 support, whether or not I will notice the difference. I even foolishly spent more money on a ssd just to get one that supports pcie 4.0.

This is by no means complete. There have always been multiple PCs, and I can't remember the exact specs of them all.

386-SLC 25Mhz
Cyrix 150 120Mhz
Pentium 1 200Mhz MMX passively cooled with Micron heatsink. Love that thing. Still have it. PSU is probably on borrowed time.
AMD K62-300
Celeron 300A @464Mhz in an Acer HX08 tower case. Bought it when I got out of boot camp. Kept the Sparkle 300W PSU from this case for over 15 years before I finally tossed it. Solid PSU.
P3 450Mhz in a Chenbro tower. Also a great case.
P3 600Mhz
Athon 500 Slot-A
Athlon 1Ghz
P4 2.4 Ghz In a Ultra Microfly case. Was a lovely toaster.
P4 3.0 Ghz
Core 2 Duo 6300. CM690 case, amongst others.
Core 2 Quad Q6600
Core i7-920 - Back when used socket 1366 workstations were ~$150 on eBay. I miss those days.
Xeon X5690
Core i7-4790k - Former gaming rig. Lives on as a media PC and transcoding box. ITX motherboard in an NZXT Phantom tower.. lol
Ryzen 3900

Played with some 286/386/486 stuff that wasn't mine, before parents got our family our first PC and started the list:
Pentium 166
Duron 650
Pentium 3 1GHz (or thereabouts)
Athlon 3400+ (S754)
Intel Core Duo mobile something
Several Intel Core 2 Duos mobile somethings
Phenom II 720
Phenom II 555 unlocked to 955 :)
Intel Core i5 760 (or thereabouts)
Intel Core i5 4570k
Ryzen 5 1600 (Yey! Back to team AMD!!!)
Ryzen 5 2600X
Ryzen 7 3800X

Also had a NAS/servers rig with
C2D-based Xeon something
AMD AM1 5150
AMD Ryzen 3400G

Countless other P4/Athlon/Sempron/Turion/C2D/Core-i/PowerPC CPU's went through my hands for systems I've built or fixed for sale. Have a box of old CPUs in my "collection", even have one of them golden pentium pro's. :D

Too many to list really. I've got through a lot in 30 years.

From Intel DX33 to 5960X...

Too many to list, but our first family computer was an Apple IIc with color monitor. Played countless hours of The Bard's Tale and Ultima IV on that thing. Never had an Amiga or Commodore :(
First PC was a generic beige box 8086 running what had to be original DOS. It booted up to a text menu of apps/games and one of them was Rogue :) I really hated the letter D.

Pentium/166 (would OC to 180/60, but faster at 166/66)
AMD K6/233 (OC 262.5)
AMD K6/266 (OC 337.5)
AMD K6-2/300 (OC 400)
AMD K6-III/400 (OC 420)
Pentium II/366 (laptop)
Pentium III/500 (OC 624)
AMD Athlon/600 (OC 750)
Atom N280 1.6GHz (laptop)
AMD Athlon64 3200+ (OC 2.2GHz)
Intel Core2Duo laptop (2.2GHz? - laptop hardware bores me)
Intel i5 laptop (1st gen, 2.4GHz?)
Intel Pentium G3258 (OC 4.4 at 1.3v, prime/avx stable)
Intel i7 5820K (OC 4.3 at 1.28 - prime/avx stable) killed in 1 month (Asus OV bug)
Intel i7 5820K (OC 4.5 at 1.25 - but not prime/avx stable - afraid of killing it) killed in 3 months (Asus OV bug)
Intel i7 5820K (OC 4.6 at 1.22 - but not prime/avx stable - afraid of killing it) killed in one year (cache at 4.4/1.2 might have killed it)
Intel i7 5820K (OC 4.0 at 1.15 - prime/avx stable) still works, pretty much a dud so it had an easy life
Intel i5 4690K (OC 4.2 at 1.2 - delidded, prime/avx stable, crappy mobo) something else I picked up along the way
Intel i7 5960X (OC 4.2 at 1.17 - prime/avx stable) current 24/7, j-batch score on e-bay. Good, but not great.

Intel Celeron 1.3 GHz (this was in some e-machines desktop, I think I still have this chip but I would need to look for it)
Intel Pentium 4 3.4GHz (Dell Dimension 4200i, chip is gone but I still have the original Mobo from it)
AMD Athlon II 2.4GHz (this was in some HP laptop, dont remember much about it)
Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.3 GHz (my first computer, a Dell Alienware M11x R1, factory overclockable to something outrageous for mobile, cant remember the frequency though)
(x2) Intel Xeon Processor 5160 3GHz (my first desktop, Dell Precision 490 with dual CPUs)
Intel Core i7-4790K (the first computer I built myself, kept it as my main till the 8700 came out with the old parts going to my brother)
Intel Core i7-8700K (full rebuild upgrade time)
Intel Core i9-9900KF (upgraded previous last build to a 9900KF and put the 8700K into a secondary PC)

Then all of the CPUs in my collection
Core i9-9900K SRG19 (x1) [In Use]

Pentium 4 3.4GHz SL7PP (x2)
Pentium 4 3.4GHz SL7Q8 (x1)
Pentium 4 2GHz SL5YR (x1)

I've got a bunch of other pretty worthless 478 and 775 Pentium 4s that, as well as some worthless mobile chips I cant remember off the top of my head.
I might also have more than 3 4790K's as well as some 4690K and non K's, I cant remember.
