IRQ not equal error means your system is not stable.
Usually caused by CPU or RAM.
If anything 8.2 will be where they mandate that SecureBoot must be enabled, thereby completing their takeover of the PC platform, making it an Apple-like walled garden that's under their control, not yours.
Linux gaming can't come soon enough.
Incorrect.
The issue was resolved by removing the ASUS wireless card from my PC and then hooking up to wired ethernet to do the install. I haven't put the card back in yet, but will soon.
Microsoft is trolling all the trolls who wanted a start button.
Incorrect. The card was in the system and potentially the root cause of system instability. Do you have an O/C on the FSB?
No, you are also incorrect. The card is an issue and there's plenty of documentation to prove my point. Please stop being the typical computer nerd and thinking you know everything before doing research to back up your claims. Claiming the irq message indicating system stability issues ONLY is quite indicative your inexperienced level of understanding issues like this.

Nothing I can do be it installing different drivers will work. I switched back to Windows 8 and it works perfectly fine.
Thanks for reminding me why I've stopped posting here and have a great day.
Also, upgrading leaves behind a lot of cruft (windows.old installation, extra junk in WinSxs, temp files, registry, all sorts of places really).
The "cruft" is the previous operating system. Windows now moves the old install to a different folder, drops a new OS install in the Windows folder, and imports everything to give the appearance of an in place upgrade.
Disk Cleanup will now wipe that old install and most of the leftover files.
I am so happy how I was able to resist upgrading.
Well yes, but a lot of people don't know about disk cleanup.
I am so happy how I was able to resist upgrading.
Me too! Look at all the problems!
Windows 8.1 update borked all the drivers on my Intel NUC, despite installing the latest from Intel after updating. Additionally XBMC crashed on simple menu navigation.
Luckily I had a full backup pre-8.1 image.
Intel is having a rough time with this update, and that's an intel product lol...
What did you use for your windows 8 image? MS removed the scheduled system image in 8.1.. Now you have to do it manually or create a power shell script. I'm finding new missing things everyday.
Has there been any news about the secure boot isn't configured correctly. MS been telling people to turn it on. Just hope those people know you won't be able to use 3rd party utilities that boot on a CD or flash drive.
Maybe there is a hack to get rid of the message on the desktop?
Well I have to take part of my words back too. It seems my MBP also has problems after the latest OSX update. If I unplug the thunderbolt display after putting the MBP to sleep, it displays the secondary display on the primary display when you wake it up the next time and doesn't seem to recover automatically. Good ol' Steve would not have let the OS out with this kind of imperfection...
They want to make sure you don't even think about dual booting Linux or anything else for that matter. Yeah, yeah "Its for your safety, Microsoft wants to keep you safe." Meanwhile we've gotten this far without it just fine, and Windows is still the monopoly on the desktop. But for some reason this is suddenly extremely urgent.
