I really gotta say, this is definitely one of the best beta's I've participated in, Bugs are being worked out at a record pace (the unattackable target was fixed in a day) I haven't read anything about server stability (Hellbras, my server, is rock steady) I know there are quite a few folks with auth. errors still, but, on the grander population scale, they seem to be in the minority.
I really feel that this is game is going to be ready for release on the release date.
Which feels weird to say because of all the beta's I've participated in, the only other instance I can think of that was also ready would be Tabula Rasa (whatever happened to THAT?

I think the Black Orc is awsome, hes amazing for PvP, even gets a small self heal that doesnt make them OP but can turn the tide if your fighting someone 1 on 1 and its neck in neck lol.
one way or another you get a tank and ahealer team in PvP and there dam near unstoppable.
Thanks to the self heal Ive won many fight with almost no life, even got an achievment for it (win 5 fights with less than 5% health remaining)

edit: You get all sorts of weird achievements. I got an achievement the other night for killing myself with scorched earth LOL.

If you ever enter a scenario and wonder why so many people are naked, there are several acheivements for fighting and doing other things... while naked. My guild was playing some scenarios and we were amazed at how mad people were getting because we were naked. A +2 armor robe doesn't do very much at level 3 anyway.
one of my rl friends is a black orc and another a zealot, and i rolled magus. alone, we have turned the tide of many scenarios and open world RvR encounters thanks to how AWESOME tanks are in this game for PvP. we have held out on points in scenarios by ourselfs against double our numbers multiple times, and twice now in 50 man+ open world encounters we have flanked on order and broken their ranks.
No way it is less polished then AoC's first 20 lvls.... WAR is more polished then WoW is right now.
I played a scenario last night that had 6 zealots, 2 shaman, 1 Disciple (these are all healers), and a couple of tanks and the Order team I was on got absolutely steam-rolled. Our team had a total of like 4 kills versus their 50+ kills. We just couldn't do enough damage because the second we started beating on someone, the other healers would just heal whoever was dying. Pretty embarrassing I'd say.

This is what happens when Order plays a scenerio without a Rune Priest and the other team has 3-4 Zealots (RP counters). I am going to play a Rune Priest as my main I love knowing that I am the most important career on my side and that I can change the tide of a battle everytime.

Its trying to do this all the time, with textures at any distance to keep the game running smooth. Its definitely not an issue where the textures are not loaded into memory yet or anything. As noted by some devs, they are going to implement some stuff to force the higher level textures at all times, however so far I am fairly impressed with the engine. Its almost impossible to make the game run poorly on a decent PC. My roommate has a P4 with a Nvidia 7600GT and he plays on High Quality and the game runs pretty well regardless of whats going on. Now take something like WoW where we have a lot of people in my guild that need to adjust the video settings on a per-fight basis to keep the game running smoothly, or AoC where the game barely functions on an older PC, then completely chokes on any PC with large scale battles, and I like this solution so far. Once the more aggressive options get implemented for higher end PCs the issue with low quality textures should go away.
I am playing WAR with forced 16xAF and 16xAA, looks great for sure (until something like that texture issue above happens)

They just released a new patch today with a new graphics texture option to increase the textures for higher end machines.
No real big class imbalances... I have to say this is the most balanced MMO I have played so far. Every class I have played (over 12 of them) has been balanced, fun, and have its own unique mechanic.
I can't wait to try this!

The Oceanic server I was first put on was stable, and Helbras is as well.
As for Helbras, I have an Order character there. I know Fleat has a Order character as well, I saw him in a scenario.

Why yes, actually, I do recall grinding for influence and running into a squishy warrior priest.
Do you happen to remember that in the first squabble you ran away into a group of NPC's and I stood about 20 feet back stomping the ground, then, in the second squabble decided to ignore said group of NPC's to make sure you died Wow, small world LOL.

Well after about 12 scenario yesterday I got lucky!
Super d00per staff (for my BW) +20int +20 willpower (if I remember correctly)
Of course I roll need and a priest wins it ... like 3 minutes later ANOTHER STAFF not as good, but way better than my starting one... omg that little fucker won it again.
Spent the remaining of the scenatio cussing at that little bastard with a shitty name...
I should have the right to cuts someone heads off for being so selfish and stupid.
also... why the hell is there afilter? any way to turn it off? it's an adult game afaik...

And this is exactly why MMO's are ruined, because people like you freak out over a bunch of pixels that they "need" so they can get +2 to ethereal incontinence. It's just a game, get over it and move on.

Indeed they did and I maxed that setting out, however it still does that low res textures at a distance thing.
At the end of the day you're still throwing a temper tantrum over a VIDEO GAME. There are more important things than a virtual magical staff and your INT skill. MMO environments would be a much better place if people weren't assholes all around. Is the "obnoxious little kid" wrong? Yeah, but nothing is accomplished by you just being an immature dick. A lot of those have been altered and some have been completely changed recently. And and they've added a lot more titles too. There's some truly funny and unique ones out there.
