nothing but chaos. heard there are multiple servers because g1 server is still not 1.8

The main server is down to my knowledge, and the contents will be wiped in favor of a new 1.8 map. There are a couple of issues right now, one is G1's connection being unreliable and his ISP refusing to cooperate, and the other is bukkit isn't at a recommended build stage yet for 1.8. Oldie offered to host the server on his 50/50 connection but I haven't heard anything about that so far, and bukkit should be final in a couple of days.

NKDietrich had a 1.8 test server up using a pre-1 map, we played on that for a while but he had to take it down due to his bandwith cap.

Currently dudewth has a 1.8 server running bukkit up, and that's where everyone is hanging out in the meantime. Did I miss anything?
 
Thermite is about right.

Nkdietrich and arr4ws can give people build access if they're on. I won't be on during business hours. My server is a hosted server and it won't be going down, I'll be keeping it. Once hardcraft comes back I understand if people switch back. My server is not the handcraft replacement. It will be much less of a democracy so keep that in mind. I won't be running as many plugins (for example if I do minecart mania it will only be for rails, no gathering etc. And that's if I even do that.)
 
so many servers, so spread out the population will become! We need an official server soon, please.
 
I just want a server that I can play on and not worry about crashes and such. I'm kinda pissed though because my Raid 5 array took a shit on me while rebuilding and deleted everything including minecraft.

The client isn't the big deal, it's the server I had running on it that is the issue. My buddies and I had quite a few hours into a 1.7 map and at least 12 each (5 of us) on a 1.8 map. Oh well, such is life.

It's like the same setup that they were planning on using on the Hardcraft server...

Same seed they were planning on using, pretty much the same plugins..

What's different?
 
/thinks it would be cool if we/you/me did a western town in the hardcraft server, saloons and shit, then have stand offs with bow and arrows down the main road. we could dress up our chars in cowboy gear then record it, thatd be cool.

I would think you could just use a village and make a few alterations. They look enough like ghost towns to begin with..
 
Hey, is there a mod that makes the endermen hostile like normal? I would like the server to run it. endermen are cool and all but at this point they are basically scenery.

They aren't supposed to be hostile. They're neutral unless you put your crosshairs on their face. Once you look away, they'll chase you down/teleport to you and attack you.
 
Well i'll be in dude's server, maybe starting the town soon, I have a lot of ideas I've never completed nor started that I think would be cool if I did.

Btw I was talking to someone (arr4ws maybe?) about building a flying blimp, with cockpit and everything, and he told me he had seen it but had no pics, anyone have one they can post online? I really want to se ewhat it looked like, thanks
 
WRT the enderman, I believe that their aggro-box is somewhere above their head at the moment, which is why they don't seem to ever go hostile. If you look at the sky above them, they might get angry at you.

Umm, lets see:

It's up and running.

And it's hosted, which means we don't have to worry about personal connections.

Nothing against G1 or anything because the hardcraft server is/was awesome, he just is limited by his connection.
 
freaking craftable snowmen that attack mobs for 0 damage and spreads snow as it walks around.

I love it.
 
New update to MC coming out tomorrow! Well, hopefully.

Sounds like it could even be 1.9. Sounds like it will definitely be a pre-release though.
 
I knew i made a good choice to make my new fortress in a snow biome :) there will be lots of snowmen wandering for sure. :)
 
Walking snow golem attacking creeper is worst than the enderman carrying block.

Do not agree, I think the snowman will be a "fun" addition to the game.

Fun, so long as they don't agro a creeper and he blows up next to you.
 
Besides, It would be nice to have some fodder when I'm running through caves, getting attacked.
