I'm kind of waiting for 1.9. I think it's going to add a whole new element to the game. There will be a point in adventuring other than to see the scenery and collect resources. All I could ask for would be a few unique items to find; something that can't be crafted.

Ah damn slacker, my bad. I was in your house and saw all these trap doors and was wondering what they were for, wanted to see what block would act like without, and ended up destroying the block by accident. my bad :(. In the center of underwater build.

But when it DOES come back. Look out. I'm either going to construct a full sized reproduction of Tar Valon (WoT ftmfw), or a big geodesic bubble/biodome/grinder.
The Tar Valon build would be less complicated, but take more surface area, and would be a good group build. Location would be key, and might require some river-laying/redirecting.

What i think could be cool is if we make a huge river that connects everyone to each other's houses, we could have some bridges and shit go over them.. It'd be a fun twist on the railroad system and it would look really nice having houses and shit on the side of a river.. No?
 
It's be an interesting build, but would be very dependent on the terrain. Might be a good idea for the main area near spawn where everyone can could claim a similarly-sized place. For the entire map, though, laying that much still water would be a HUGE pain.
 
I have been watching some youtube videos of a mod called Buildcraft and Industrial craft. Any chance we could get those? They are a bit of a game changer, but they are pretty interesting looking.

It would require everyone to install client side mods... I used build craft in SP for a while, was interesting.
 
Although me and dudewtf havent finalized it im having a minecraft page made for the [H]ard Gaming Community website before i cut the developer loose. :)

oc! light the place up , i met some neighbors in the appartment ... enderman , creepers , skelly and zombies! the whole 9 yards!
 
www.hardcraft.org would probably be better. That site looks really outdated. I haven't even heard of any of those people besides blutoast.. lol

I don't know how many of the users would actually go to a [H]ardcraft website, though.. The majority seem content right here in this thread.

Yeah, you would most likely need to create an artificial river. I highly doubt there are any natural rivers in MC large enough to fit an island of that size in the middle of it.

Yea. Alternatively I could do a lake, or just an ocean and make an island for the same effect...
 
So is [H]ardcraft dead? Due to lack of bandwidth/hardware whatever?

I have a 50/5 connection and a pretty decent dedicated machine sitting idle..

ACTUALLY, I was thinking Post-Seanchan attack. Holes in the tower, stuff burning, etc. Will finally have a good use for creating paintings too.

my girlfriend is really really into those books. i haven't ready any of them though,but they seem pretty neat. maybe if it's built, i can get her interested enough in minecraft that she'll watch me run around the place for 5 minutes or so :rolleyes:

Yea, the WoT is one of the best book series I have ever read (up there with LoTR. The Black Tower and Dune). Just make sure you are willing to give up the time. Because you will...

Pretty much everyone is playing on dudewth's server ATM. It's unsure whether [H]ardcraft is coming back or not, but it doesn't seem likely at this point, even if someone's willing to host.


Also, I thought I was in the wrong thread.. everyone's talkin about books? lol
 
Try the audiobooks. They are excellently produced and performed. They actually have a man reading the predominately male character driven sections, and a woman reading the female character driven sections.
