I would imagine that, too, but I never received one. I preordered on April 15th.

Did anyone grab it from GMG and actually get a beta key or email?

Edit: I figured it out. I had to go to register.guildwars2.com to create an account with my game key.

I played for 20 minutes before getting kicked from the server. Not gonna make a judgement based on these 20 minutes but i thought those 20 minutes were less interesting than my first 20 minutes in GW1 so far. Definately cool is the spiritual form of the charr necromancer though. Feels like really being in a different dimension by the gfx and sounds. Definately done well in that regard.
 
Needs moar feedback!! I tried watching a stream, but the dude was just standing around 100 other dudes, all of them randomly exploding in sparkles.

Been playing about an hour now. Servers been up. SLI/Surround performance is pretty bad though. Hopefully a fix is underway!
 
game isnt optimized yet... woes of beta testing... tons of intermittent connection drops / fps issues when tons of ppl are gathered in an area... and the server just crashed...

on the flip side, I am enjoying the game very much!
 
I know surround is not "supported", but is it functional? I wonder if a pair of 680s could brute force it enough to make it playable...

If you look at the known bugs section of the forums, you will see that SLI/Xfire is not supported and advises that you turn it off for the game.

I don't care if you SLI 780's, if its not optimized you will get shitty frames.
 
im gettting 20-40 fps with 480gtx. What about you guys?

I am playing on a laptop at work right now so I can't do much but run around and I have been making new characters in each of the starting zones.

One thing I've noticed. In the human starting area you can talk to the villagers and tell them to run and you will get 2 karma points....there doesn't seem to be a limit on how many you can get and they keep respawning fairly fast.

I have over 100 karma points right now.
 
Anyone else getting low fps (30 and below.....) ? Loving the game so far, but man.... It's choppy. Only in pvp grounds I'm getting decent fps.

Specs: i7 920, gtx 680, 12gb ram..... Running 1920x1200

Edit: didn't see the above posts....looks like I'm not the only one.

performance is quite poor. Seems to be a mix of network lag as well as the game not being optimized yet. But that's beta for you!
 
they are like gold but you can only use them on certain vendors (NPCs with the hearts over their heads).
You normally only get karma points for completely quests. You can buy items and crafting equipment with them. I can see crazy people farming this if they dont change it. I will send it in with the support ticket it makes you fill out when you finish the quest.

Yeah but whats interesting is im using a older card and higer res and still getting around same fps.

Game just needs optimization i guess.
 
Yeah they definitely have a lot of optimization to do. I have SLI off, getting about 25 fps at max settings, dips down to like 11-12 when there's a bunch of people around. Turning everything to low barely changes anything either.

Also just got a really bad lag spike then DC'ed from server. Gameplay itself seems good so far though.
