Still waiting on my invite as well. I purchased the DDE on the 10th when it was released, Oddly enough I got an email the other today telling me to purchase the game in order to get OB access. Now I'm scared...

Wow, fucking hate how slow this is going for me. Yet others are getting at least a meg a second.
 
I share everyone excitement for Friday!

If we linked out account, will our account name and password be the same as our old ones?
 
Does the downloader have a resume? I need to close it but I'm about half way through and dont' wanna lose my progress.
 
That was the most arduous process to get my GW1 account linked. I was literally sitting in GW1 on my character and I couldn't get the website to accept my GW1 login to link my GW2 serial code. I tried 10 times with no luck. My friend then told me to use my NCSoft login. That had worked for him. I forgot my login for that. Took another 10 minutes to remember it / look it up in my emails. I finally get into my NCSoft account. I try that login to link my GW2 account. Does not work.

I was literally sitting in game on my GW1 account and logged into the NCSoft website with the linked NCSoft account and the damn thing would NOT take either login to link my GW2 serial code.

Frustrated, I tried a few more times and it finally took my GW1 login. After pressing the button to finalize the link, it throws a random ERROR and kicks me out. I then retry the link and it says my serial code has already been registered. My friend said he got a confirmation email for registering. I have NOT received such an email yet.

This is ridiculous.
 
I've been talking with ncsoft for two weeks now. Still haven't gotten my account back. Ridiculous.
 
I clicked the link and tried logging in, but nothing happens when I click Login. The page refreshes but stays on the login page with no error message or anything. I wanted to get it pre-loaded before I left for work, but I guess I'll tinker with it some more when I get home.

For our first Beta Weekend Event (April 27-29), home-world selection and world transfers will work just as they will when Guild Wars 2 launches.

When you log in to the game for the first time, you will have the opportunity to pick any available server, or home world. If you choose to select a home world that is in a different region from where you purchased your game, you will be logged out for a short period of time while your account is moved to your new region. Once you have selected a home world, all the characters you create will play on this world and will represent it in our world-versus-world (WvW) format.

While you can change your home world, there is a limit of one world transfer every seven days per account and a charge of 1,800 gems for each transfer. A world transfer moves all of your existing characters to your new home world. Any subsequent characters you create will also play in this new home world.

When Guild Wars 2 launches, you will also have the option to play with your friends on another world with our free “guesting” feature. With guesting, your characters can play on any world where you have friends—with certain restrictions. For instance, you will not be able to participate in WvW while guesting.

While home-world selection and world transfers will be available during our Beta Weekend Event, guesting is not currently available. All players will be able to receive 2,000 gems free for the Beta Weekend Event, so you will be able to purchase a world transfer if you find yourself in need of one. Since the limit is one transfer every seven days, you’ll only be able to change worlds once during the Beta Weekend Event.

We strongly recommend that you plan ahead and choose your server before the event begins on April 27.

I have no idea. I will be joining the unofficial reddit server. At this point is looks like it will be Darkhaven.
 
No local server times given that I am seeing. These are not all going to be PST servers, are they? I assume they will be for beta, but I hope they have some CST servers too.

That's cool. So instead of just letting them buy gold with real money, they force it to the AH to create a market. Great idea imo.

Blizz with their RMAH, GW2 with their gems--these are some great systems theyr'e coming up with to prevent those asian farmers lol
 
Can't wait to play this this weekend. I am not a fan of MMO RPGs but I liked GW1 and i'm really interested in this game.

I think Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry were US East during the stress test.
 
The best part about their server transfers is the "guest" part which is free and costs no gems.

But the only reason i can think of wanting to be a guest on another server is for the WvW, which they said won't happen >_< lol

I think it makes perfect sense why you can't guest for WvW, it would make people want to all go to a server where they were winning, and could hurt balance on other realms.
 
Sucks for those of us who wouldnt do that but have friends we want to play with rolling on different servers
 
Are the official GW2 forums not working/complete yet? Doesn't seem to be responding nor acting like a forum.

Oh I understand their reason for not allowing that, i was just saying that happens to be the only reason i'd ever want to guest =P
 
I think their transfer system is more than fair and better than any out there. You can do it without spending any money and PvE as a guest. You can do it using gems without spending any money and PvP. There are no negatives there, and compared to other games it wins hands down. The only way it gets better is all transfers 100% free but there would still have to be restrictions to make sure WvWvW stayed as balanced as possible.
