Lots of Switch 2 available in store today morning. Meanwhile my pre order shipped so couldn’t cancel. Now I have to wait a day or two before I get mine. Complete wtf situation for me.

Got mine last night at Best Buy

Arrived about 15min after the pre-order line opened and took about an hour to get the system. Probably a good 100+ people just in line for the pre-orders when leaving I saw the line for non pre-orders and it was only around 10 people so I guess that's how many extra they had.

Was able to set it up last night but going to game a bit today.
 
I just walked into my store at 9:30 and got one this morning. They were just putting them out

Actually just double checked and BB used a sticker receipt, not stapled.

So I guess it's just Gamestop making that stupid move

Yup, I've met a few people that collect the boxes as well and would be PISSED to find a staple in it. So many reasons for them to not be that stupid lol

I agree idiots but how hard are they smashing the stapler into the box to actually damage the screen lol.
 
LCD is LCD. It is supposed to be dogshit.
I didn’t expect miracles when I purchased mine. It is for my kid and he will play 90% of the time on an OLED TV.

Yup, I've used the screen on my switch 1 around 4 times since launch, and each time it was to play mario while bbqing lol. I get they are a big deal to some people but the lcd is a 0 factor for me fortunately.
 
I get that a new 120hz OLED screen would be preferable, but the screen is pretty nice for a LCD
 
The fact that this one has a worse screen is pretty irrelevant since its way too big now to be portable anyways. Not sure what Nintendo was thinking here.

I'd rather they had released this thing as a set top console only at a cheaper price, and give us a smaller more portable version with an OLED. It'll still sell well, but when you see how massive this thing is compared to the already massive original unit - I don't really understand the logic in the design here. This is a major reason why i'm not buying this thing any time soon as my OLED Switch just makes for the better portable system on trips.
 
probably a vast majority of people prefer the increase in size and don't mind the lower quality screen so much. A screenless version for $100 less would be awesome tho

Size, controller size, price, seem a sign that the audience for this got older during the decade a little bit, still a good amount smaller than a deck if IGN was right there, the percentage of the device that is a screen is impressive too
 
I never realized that they already increased the screen when they went OLED. I have 2 switch and both are the og versions. I might sell them both and get an OLED one as a backup.

Was watching my son play Zelda and honestly, it finally looks like a game worth watching. Feels crisp, runs at 60 fps and looks pretty cool.

got mine at costco today, nothing special. tried mario kart world. way too big for battle mode. old one for that is better.

played some switch 1 game. doesnt even perform better too for it. (overcooked)
 
Guy who works at Walmart in receiving yesterday in store said he walked in the store 5 minutes before both sides of the store were opened. So he got a jump on the entire line. I suspect in a few months the demand will be met.
 
The demand is already met i think. It is still in-stock in a lot of stores. You could even order one from Costco as of last night.
 
Same here, there was a whole pile of units yesterday. Even though it is overpriced but you can still find deals and plenty of switch 2 available.

Think because of not having a must play game, they really might have botched this release.

I can almost guarantee a bunch will magically show up at stores this weekend as shit hook scalpers return them.

There’s just no killer game IMO. New Mario kart is not a system seller. Neither is a donkey Kong. I’m sort of shocked they didn’t also release prime 4 as a launch title.
 
Apperently the Switch 2 is having issues with HDR being washed out. I couldn't figure out why I had to CRANK the slider up to get the sun to disappear in the hdr calibration, only for both images to disappear at almost the same point. (Like 3 points of difference between them)

Turns out disabling your tvs own tone mapping and telling it to use only the switch 2s fixes the issue. Here's a reddit post explaining how for different tvs. Haven't gotten a chance to test it yet but im excited to see if it helps.

I went to both BB and Target this moring (Same shopping center) abd they both plenty of NS2 systems. Doesn't seem like the massive hype that it used to be in the past. I picked it up to play Mario and I will pass it onto my nephew later this summer.
 
Nintendo never got me the pre-order when I signed up for it. So I'll try to go out this weekend to find one I guess. At least here in Italy I can do VAT exception so I may be able to get one for a bit cheaper than US MSRP on the economy here. I'm mostly interested in playing through the rest of TotK at 60 FPS, and somewhat interested in the MK World, though I never really played through MK8 on Switch. Def interested in Metroid 4, as I played through Prime and Dread last year and forgot how enjoyable those games can be.
 
Loving the fact all my switch accessories work with the switch 2. Got both my pro-controllers and my kids off brand controllers paired up super easily. Best Buy delivered my system around 4pm which was great, meant my son was home to sign for me (they actually required signatures for once). Got everything set up last night, updated and mario kart world downloaded.

Tonight is wine and whine night with my wife, see how many times we cry about blue shells while getting wine drunk 🤣

Yeah, I was pretty happy to hear the previous Joycons and Pro controllers are fully supported as well, having 2 sets of both myself. I'll prolly eventually get the new Pro controllers for the extra back buttons when I see a good deal on them though.
