The Division 2

On that note, can we talk about how absolutely fantastic this game looks in 4K w/ HDR and the settings cranked? This engine blew me away back when Div 1 came out and now, seeing it in HDR is just breathtaking at times. Some of the environments and the atmosphere the effects can bring are just mind blowing.

TD2 is another example of art direction beating pixels. I wish more devs would take note. I walked away from this one yet again after the disappearing weapon bug hit me badly, but it's always been beautiful.

Well, scratch that. With HDR enabled the built in Photo Mode is not happy.

So I need to get geared up again cos I'm getting me arse whipped on normal. Is is Hunter's Fury 4pc with memento backpack still the meta for solo play? Or what's good these days? I've picked up some Aegis(?) gear pieces here and there, worth hanging onto?

Anybody have any luck targeted loot ARs in Summit for the St.Elmo Engine AR? I guess it's the best AR in the game these days? Still using a Heartbreaker and a Scropio shotty.

Last but not least, sorry to ask cos I forget these things, only way to get the Eagle Bearer is either the Raid or DZ right?

Edit: Seems like every Youtube solo build video I watch they have the Eagle Bearer.

Getting back into the game myself, I've spent countless hours now watching Youtube and reading the subreddit and far and away the meta at least for all out damage is 4-piece Strikers, Coyote exotic mask, St. Elmo's and a ACS-12 w/ Fast Hands.

This is a bit of a "joke" in the community as everyone has this build in their loadouts as its pretty foolproof and you can blitz through Solo Heroic content as long as you stay safe since you're a little squishy. A reviver hive is a must. Chest piece has some options but a Ceska chestpiece with the Obliterate talent is probably one of the best. This build is all about stacking Crit Chance and Crit Damage.

Sorry, I don't know how to make this not embed but this spreadsheet was a godsend when getting back into the game to get a few builds going. The Striker build is in there and explains it in more detail.

From there I've experiemted with a few others. I now have a Hot Shot marksmen rifle build which is a lot of fun, still getting used to it.

An alternative from Strikers is a Heartbreaker build to get a bunch of armor at the expense of a little DPS. Really, that spreadsheet is fantastic.

Eh, I dump most of my gear into experience unless its quite obviously a godroll, you can get a ton more of it quickly as I'll explain below.

When I learned about St. Elmos a few weeks ago it took me an hour to get it. Countdown is FAR and away the king of loot farms, just target AR's. 15 minutes per run and you're showered in loot, its kind of absurd. You can target whatever gear you want and just follow the group. Challenging mode is great for moving faster and still getting the same amount of loot drops as Heroic.

Honestly what I did was pull up the article for the build, then just go down the list targeting what I was looking for until I had a good baseline to work off of.

Also, you get a currency from Countdown runs which you can use at the vendor for Exotic drops. Only took a few and I got Elmos.

Last but not least, sorry to ask cos I forget these things, only way to get the Eagle Bearer is either the Raid or DZ right?
I believe so. So far I haven't felt the need to go after that but I'm still getting my builds sorted out. I'd like to get a bit more comfortable but I can clear everything on Heroic so far.

I forgot this game even existed

Is it at least populated? Or on life support

They rolled out a huge rebalance 8 months ago and then just tore it all up tonrebalance again, wasting everyone's time and resources going into year 6. Now, they've implemented a ridiculous modifiers system that you're forced to use in multiplayer if anyone has them turned on and have locked seasonal progression behind specific tasks. Dead to me yet again.

Thanks was considering loading it up again but not gonna use the storage space for this.

What are they smoking in Sweden? Really ticked me off after all that work I put into my character only to be undone by their fuck ups.

Meanwhile, the first The Division is hopping, I always see people in the lobby both in Terminal and the Underground. Also, there's always people in the DZ too.

I got back into Div1 about a month ago. I made a new character and played through it for like the sixth time but now I'm back on my main working on commendations. I see other players here and there in the safe houses. I don't go into the DZ much though.

Huh, I guess that will get me to log into the Division2. Hopefully I will get the gold since I played both games long before the Jan2 2024 date. Thanks for the info.

I definitely have the gold version in my inventory, though I haven't played it much in a long time. I still prefer TD1's winter wonder-hell-apocalypse & do at least 1 Light Zone Boss run near Christmas per year.

Logged in earlier, got the rifle and all 3 skins. Not a bad rifle but hard to beat my Emmaline p90 with armor regen on kill.

In the first Division, I'd like to complete one more shield. I have 650 commendation points to go to get to 3,000 to complete the Talon shield which I feel will take longer than I'd like. So I am thinking of going for the Fang shield instead. There are 7 missions that need to be completed on Legendary difficulty. I have completed 2 but that was 2 years ago. Strangely enough, nothing about my character has changed since then but when I recently attempted the other 5 missions I got my ass kicked at the first group of enemies. Anyone got any advice on how to complete missions on Legendary?

I'm reinstall this thing all of the running around to waypoints kinda disappointed me instead of just Fast Travel.

There is fast travel one you find a safe house an unlock it or you're faction controls a control point (which good luck at end game with the Tusk invasion). I finally hit 40 last week, still haven't gone to NYC expansion yet.

Yeah you can fast travel from anywhere to any location or mission start point.

Global Event Assault is here on The Division 1

I got back into Div1 and have been playing a lot for about 4 months now. I am legitimately surprised and happy that there is a new GE. I guess there is still a team of people working on this game.

I still want these games / story / environment / world, etc. with an "arcade ~ tactical" slider vs the weirdo looter shooter bullet sponge micro management gear advancement BS that it is.

I read that several modders made that happen, but then the devs killed every single one of them (the mods, not the modders because devs only had 90 nerf darts & modders laughed & moved on).

I think "Ghost Recon The Division 1 & 2" would sell better than GR Wildlands & Breakpoint & devs could profit from DIV 1 & 2 with minimal effort... $.02

What I really want is an offline mode since I know Ubisoft is dying & thus any online-only game will die as well. The Crew 1 server nuking created a major fiasco that I'm dreading for the TD & GR series games.

Fantastic buy at that price. It does seem kind of odd though: with this sale and the global event line-up, it seems like they are trying to get people back into this old game. Well worth it though; it is a ton of fun. Maybe they are trying to get people hooked on The Division catalog in preparation for Div3 eventual release.

The nice thing about TD1 is everything just works and everything I've accumulated still works the same as always. I return to it time to time. Can't say the same for TD2. If I had to scratch a periodic itch for TD, it's TD1 easily.

LZ boss run is my go to so see the sites & sounds every once in while with my full tech build (seeker mines & pulse turret). TD2 didn't bring the same amount of power over & I hated the fact that I could never make an equivalent build.

In The Division 1, another global event (Strike) starts in about 7 hours and runs through the week.

Also, Div1 and Div2 are on sale through Steam - $4.49 and $7.49 respectively. Sale ends March 20th. They are regular price through Ubisoft Connect/Uplay.

If you have Gamepass or own COD: BO6, right now there is a playlist in third person mode. It makes me itch for a new Division.

Division 3, Half Life 3 (is it real?), and maybe Battlefield 6 are the only games I am looking forward to right now.

Battlefield 6 is the only pc game I'm looking forward to. However, the switch library and switch 2 will give me a lot of new stuff to play :D.
