The Division 2

I picked Div2 back up a month or two ago after a couple years away and have had a blast catching up and messing around with the builds again. Such a simple recipe for a game, seems odd it hasn't been really perfected and iterated well.

If Div3 ever happens, I hope they take the best from 1 & 2. I still miss my tech build from 1 & it sucks I can't have similar in 2.

This is how it goes for me. 6+ months off, then 3+ weeks of fun. Repeat.

Meh,Division 2 was giving me problems where the screen would go black and then the image restored, rinse and repeat, didn't matter what refresh rate I had the set it to. Any other game didn't do that, just D2 so I hope the latest update fixed that, if so then I'll get the Brooklyn DLC.

Seems like there's always a problem running Division 2 for me.

Yeah, I really enjoy the game in doses like that. Still enjoy the moment to moment gameplay for a while. Get caught back up and all that and go play some other games again for a while.

DLC is live!
It's a small addition, but an addition none the less.

$15 for new content, I'm back baby!

Get the full game and both DLC's for $24.

Base game is $3.

It's Ubi, so, you're warned.

rumors are that it's going to be the return of Survival Mode...which has not been seen since the original Division game

This would be welcome news. I tried to get back into div 1's survival mode but just wasn't feeling it.

They may as well just keep updating Division 2, we will all just complain about everything in a division 3 anyway.

Yes and no. At least for me once I get out of a game, I find it extremely difficult to jump back in. IIRC some of the limitations on things they can't implement like more storage is due to it requiring a major overhaul that will never happen. A new Division would get me to play, but I just have flashbacks to doing everything I wanted in The Division 2 so nothing they release does anything to make me want to buy the seasons or even an expansion at this point. I think I last played before they launched that tower or whatever it is with a ton of floors to climb.

It is a lot like WOW for me. There is nothing they could do with WOW to bring me back, but a WOW 2 I would check out.

Is there any new SP content?

Well there's "Retaliations", and if you never farmed Descent for blueprints, you can now get them there.

Descent is AIDS, so it's kind of fun and 'new'.

Retaliation is a new, permanent endgame activity in The Division 2 where players retake a named zone after an enemy faction has "agitated" it to a full meter. To start, players perform open-world activities against a specific faction to fill its "agitation meter," which unlocks a six-hour window to begin the Retaliation. Once triggered, players are sent to an instanced version of the zone to capture control points before a timer runs out, with success dependent on clearing multiple waves of enemies and facing potential "kill squads"

Depending on how long you've been away, there are new exotics, new gear sets, new named items, etc. Some good, some meh.

There's "Master" missions, the end missions of the last few Manhunts, and they are supposed to be a notch above Legendary, but some are, and some aren't. Guaranteed exotics.

There's the whole Brooklyn DLC if you missed that, too.

Then there is the 'endgame' of chasing Expertise levels...

Hey everyone... if you're a player with moderate amount of time in the game, and still chasing some of the raid / incursion items, then you want to play the next few weeks.

The new Xmas Event is live and it's raining exotics like Regulus (I got 2 so far), Eagle Bearer, and Ouroboros. I've only opened 5 caches and I got a 2 Regulus, the new LMG, and a Lexington (I had 2 but still). Drop rates seem to be pretty damn high. Guy in my group got Regular, and Eagle Bearer, and Nemesis while I was opening mine.

Ok so after farming up another 10-12 keys... I have now gotten Eagle Bearer, and Ouroboros...
So I have all exotics never having set foot in Iron Horse or the Incursion.
(I got The Ravenous from the 'stretch goals' thing a couple seasons ago)

Is it just leveling caches, field ones etc? Guess I should fire up the game.
No... They implemented a new holiday system... they are caches specific to the event.

How it works is, there are 'squads' of Holiday minions that will attack you random about every 10-15 minutes. They generally come from places that the loot hoarder guy pops out of (manholes, etc). They'll just appear out in the worlds with a message, kind of like how "Rogue Agents Detected" would appear.

It's 4-5 elites, and they have about a 10% chance to drop a 'winter key' and a 'krampus bounty'. The bounty is literally just 3 waves of the minions (each can drop a key) and then the boss. So you can farm keys (do it on Normal) by just killing the minions, and letting the boss kill you. Then you start the bounty over, and kill the minions, rinse, repeat. If you need help, DM me, and I'd be glad to help out if I'm on (which I more than likely will be, I'm off the next 2.5 weeks... Xmas vacation!)

You can open 2 different caches with a key, or donate it to a community cache to unlock a special outfit if enough keys get donated (they will).

The first cache is apparel and skins and stuff, the 2nd gear cache has a VERY high chance to drop exotics, special named items from the past (Lexington, Turmoil, etc)

In about 30 keys, I've gotten 4 Lexingtons, 4 new LMGs, 4 various Exotics I had, 3 Regulus, 2 Ouroboros, 1 Eagle Bearer, 1 Beacon (new Exotic chest), and a bunch of regular named items (Hunter Killer, Shield Splinterer, Huntsman, etc)

There's also like 40 present boxes out in the world, that if you shoot them you'll get a named item, and maybe a random apparel thing. I haven't done those yet.

Oh and the caches are the Event vendor in the outdoor section of the Base of Operations.

All the people that still play on my friends list have gotten Lexington, Eagle Bearer, Regulus, and Ouroboros.

It really is a "Christmas" event. Funny to see so many people complaining about not having to raid to get weapons that have been out for YEARS and non-raiders getting them. Fuck 'em tho, people are having fun, working together, and logging in.

Hopefully this sparks Massive/Ubi to keep doing mini-events.
