Everything remains the same from my previous setup except the OCZ memory is now at 5-4-4-12 with the increase to the 7x505 settings and upgraded to the 0614 bios. Still on air, no reason to be a wuss and use water. :D

I overclocked at E6300 with a Gigabyte DS3 to 2.8GHz. 12 hours dual prime stable. I have Patriot DDR2 667 ram, but I am running it at 800MHz, so I'm pretty happy about the whole thing. I didn't take screenshots of the 2.8GHz dual prime stable reading, but I'm not lieing. I just wanted to contribute to the thread. I will try for higher once I understand what the bios settings mean.

Lyquist

P.S. All voltages are default. All I did was raise the fsb to 400 and it worked no problem.

New CPU
I replaced my CPU with a week 28 part, and it runs at significantly lower voltage and slightly higher speeds than my old week 24 part. This configuration is silent: all fans <=600 RPM.

This system can go faster at higher CPU and MCH voltage, but this is as high as I wanted to go so I could keep it silent.
I'm using four Nexus Real Silent 120mm fans, all undervolted to very low speeds, in an Antec P180 case. You can't hear the fans more than 8 inches away from the box.

NOTE: To get these speeds, I had to increase the tRD parameter with memset. The BIOS sets it to 5. At tRD=5, the system stopped being stable at FSB 361.

As always with P5W DH, I disabled C1E, SpeedStep and Hyper Path 3. I stuck with 1:1 RAM speed to keep latency low.
The CPU temperature reported by Probe 2 and SpeedFan is bogus, you need Core Temp, RMClock, TAT or Everest to get the on-chip temperature. The motherboard temperature is the south bridge.

The stock NB HS was replaced by a Thermalright HR-05.

Well, after reading this thread and using it as a guide for hardware purchasing, here's what I got.

User Name : Whiskey29
Stability : 10hrs SP2004

CPU name : E6300
OC : 3304
Stepping : 6 B2
Week : L626
Code : A537
Vcore : 1.35625

Cooling : Air
Cooler brand : Big Typhoon

Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3
Bios Version : F4E

RAM brand : Corsair TwinX
RAM rated speed : 6400
RAM actual speed: 944
Latency : 5-5-5-18 stable (currently on 5-5-5-15 not tested)

CPUZ ID : 122170

Too bad RAM is holding me back it won't go pass 480, it will boot at 475 but 3.3Ghz is enough for now. Although I'll try other TwinX sticks.

Max Temp Full Load according to CoreTemp is 62, Avg 59, Idle 52-54
Room Temp is between 24-25
BIOS setting, I disabled as many options as I could, and set

Mem Mhz : 440
PCIe : 100 (just in case to prevent the mb increase it automatically)
CIA2 disabled
Mem Multiplier : 2
Dimm : +0.2
PCIe : normal
FSB : +0.2
MCH : +0.2
CPU : 1.35625

I found out that most of the time when I crank the bus speed, CPU volt is the last thing I increase, Mch and FSB is first, if it not stable then dimm volt or CPU volt depending on the test on SP2004. If I run small FFT failed then it's CPU volt and large FFT failed for mem volt.

By the way, Mentok, is that word mentok comes from a language in SE Asia ?

Cheers ;)

That may be true, but I named myself for the Mind Taking judge from the Adult Swim cartoon
Harvey Birdman Attorney At Law.

And famich I noticed that you have Skype on your desktop. I just started using Skype
myself. Would like to be my first Skype buddy?

Most welcome, Mentok, I accept willingly ;)
I am from the Czech Republic , Europe . GMT +1 hour, so I do hope we ll stand the chance to communicate :D

I am expecting the new rev of P5W with 1.85MCH V and I hope that 6600 s gonna reach 3800 ;)

anyone know if this chipset cooler will work on the ds3 with a tt big typhoon or will i have clearance issues.... or will the non sli work please respond i wanna order today

Well, this is my final o/c for this E6600. I'm going to try chip #2 now.
Can you update my listing submitted already with this max speed data.
Please note that the cooler I use is by a company called CoolIT, not 'CoolTechnica' as was mistakenly entered in the database.

THX , Mentok, for updating the database !!!! :D
You ve had a lot of work with it for sure !
Kudos to you.

PS PM with my Skype info follows.
;)

Mentok -

You can remove the 1st of the two listings you have for me on the E6600 @ 3450... it's the same chip as the one listed right above doing a (final) 3476 mhz.

Thanks man! GREAT job on the DATA COLLECTION. This really helps us old school O/Cer's separate the BS from the real deal.

I haven't been this excited about overclocking since my Pentium 233MMX hit 292 mhz.
Socket 7 rulez !
Quake timedemo forever ! :D

I get an error(s) running at that timing(s). My memory is weird it's good to about 960fsb at 4-4-4-12 but finicky about anything else, even with higher voltage. Up to that speed, however, I can run it fine at 2.1. After that even higher voltage (I've tried up to 2.4) doesn't seem to matter.

I start getting more errors before 100%...looks no go to me.

Any suggestions? (this is at 7x450 @ 2.1v)

Make sure you have active cooling on your ran and up Vdimm to 2.2V
