I just picked up my Core 2 Duo E6300 today.

FPO/Batch# L627A823

Pack date: 08/17/06.

Damned thing is barely a month old.

I have to install it and test it, but that's going to take place either tomorrow or Monday.

The ram I'll be using for this is OCZ PC2-7200 Which is rated at 4-4-4-15. It's EPP capable, but I won't be using it on an nVidia chipset based board.

Just got this board and its the P5W64-WS , anyway just started to overclock an hour back and this is what I have for now.

You will have to give me a few days to finalize everything. :)

I am going higher but tomorrow or day after , wee bit busy

I am sorry guys. This is the last weekend before I move. I hope to update for you tomorrow.

Ran Prime all night and its stable at 3.33ghz , hopefully get another 300 mhz tomorrow
:)

This motherboard (Abit AB9) has been having a lot of RAM compatibility problems. The latest BIOS seems to have mostly fixed them and I can now get a decent OC. I could probably go a lot higher if I was more willing to push VCore.

Would you mind providing ambient, case, airflow, and temps from speedfan/eztune? Thanks and nice OC!!

Primed for 14hrs and works flawlessly , will run this or something similar to this on 24/7 in the end

3516mhz , stable at two 32meg pi and now running prime for four hours , see how that goes.

1. Still on Air, really, who needs water with these chips?
2. New Board, new memory, new timings.
3. A 7950GX2 is also installed.

Hi mentok1982 and everyone else,

I am going for the Low Voltage High Clock level for my system. Unlike what some AMD motherboards do for Cool and Quiet,
Asus's P5W DH does not add increased voltage to SpeedStep. I want a fast system when needed, yet an ice cool box and room when idle.
Currently, SpeedStep runs my CPU at 2100 Mhz at 1.14 volts (22 C cpu, 52 C sys), but cranked up at 100% CPU,
I get 3150 Mhz at 1.28 volts stable (42 C cpu, 53 C sys). Here are my results:

User Name: RemingtonSteele
Stability: 6 hours 48 minutes using Prime95

CPU name: E6600
OC: 3153.9 Mhz (350.43 Mhz FSB * 9 multiplier)
Stepping: 6 B2

Cooler brand/model: Zalman CNPS9500 LED

Motherboard: Asus P5W DH Deluxe

RAM brand: G.Skill
RAM rated speed: PC2-6400 (400Mhz)
RAM actual speed: PC2-7010 (438.1 Mhz) 876

For now!
I'm at 3620 priming right now 45 mins so far at 1.5v :D

Check the temps out , its looking good though and I noticed that I had to up the Vcore a lot to get it to this.

In the end I will run it at 3.5ghz ddr980 or something near that.

I hope you get it above 3625. ;)

Lol, I don't think I can beat that. I've ran into the fsb wall now. Btw my 3620 failed prime.
I have a quick question... when your oc fails are you able to go back to the previous speed you was stable with? I can't and I have to reset cmos and start all over. My mobo is very sensitive and I have to oc it very slowly after 500fsb. Also what are you temps like. On water mine is 28-30c idle and 40-53c load using speed fan.

Well best of luck with your oc.

@sifulee ,check my temps out.

I have primed the one I am doing now for 1 hour and its stable , its at 3603.89mhz.

I pray it passes four hours cos thats what you need to prove its stable

Those are some pretty high temps however core temp is like 12c higher then temps reported by speed fan.
My core temp go up to 60-62c while priming @3556mhz on water!

Holy crap those are high temps! And I was wimping out on the voltage because I was hitting 50C @ load in Coretemp :p

If I take the board to far, yes, it requires a CMOS clear to get back to the original high overclock. I start around 450FSB and increase by 5 to 10FSB up to my max level. I am usually around 29C at idle, end up around 56~58C under full load after four hours with the Tuniq.

I'm gonna kill Bill.

Trying 3.62ghz now, and have put a fan on the ram and another one near the HSF , it bought the temp down by 1c :D

Wow, that is one informative f***ing table . Nice work mentok, good luck moving .

all the cpuz info

:) I think I did good , looking at the family and week cpu I have

PS don't kill bill cos thats the only friend I have.

Can this count ?

I am worried after checking the temps, I couldn't even put the core temp program on , it kept on adviseing me to shut my pc down but that said it is only a couple of degrees over it so I wanted to see if it was stable.

Ran two 32meg pis and its stable , but running prime scares me. if it goes to 95c I am shutting PC down.

Also the HSF is not that hot either , its kinda weird and hoping the temp thing isn't working.

 check temps , onload

Idle

Thats it ,done it , yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I slowly try to find the limit of my system. So here is another update:
Temp reaches 63-64 C with coretemp. Ambient temp = 21 C. I intend to revert to 3200 MHz for 24/7 use.

Im up to 2.96Ghz now and around 1.8V. Ever now and then when booting up I lower the voltage by a notch and give an extra 5mhz bump to the FSB. It is slow and steady, but my goal was only to get to 2.4Ghz, so everything else is slowing increasing in speed gravy. :D

1.8v ??? That's not your core voltage is it? Memory voltage maybe...?
Your right its definitely his Vdimm. Then again you never know

1.8V Core is really too much

BTW I ve noticed a quite large Vdroop on my "rev 2 " P5W DH DL -
in BIOS 1.525 means actually fluctuation between 1.472-1.488 . I was wondering why my CPU suddenly requires a bit more "juice " for the same clocks than before.

Completed 13H Orthos -OK @400x9

Anyone ?
