I stopped playing a while back when baldurs gate 3 launched. JP is just infuriating. I'm not sure what capcom was thinking. Like I have no idea what to do when I play against him.
OK, now that the game has had time to mature, is it worth getting into as someone who played sf4 as Ryu exclusively and loved it, and would want to main Ryu again in sf6? .
I meant to pick it up closer to launch, but rl said no... Is there a good number of players online still?
Finally, will my old 360 pad work with it?
Bought. Thanks for your post!!Yeah, 360 pads will definitely still work and there are plenty of people to play online. I pop on for 15-20 minutes (on my work breaks) most days and it's no sweat finding people to play.
Ryu plays somewhat similar to how he did in SF4. Projectile zoning isn't as strong overall, but he's one of the few characters that still makes it work. He definitely hits hard and can play both aggressively or defensively. He's considered to be in the lower middle of the pack, but in SF6, that isn't bad. Even the "worst" characters are still really competitive, especially at the level most people are playing at. Ken is usually seen as the best character in the game, so you could also go that route. Dee Jay and Guile are really strong, too.
Bought. Thanks for your post!!
they are just outfits, you dont have to buy them. im more annoyed at being forced to buy characters, or guns, features etc. in other games. those are the truly bullshit mts.LOL, so the new costumes that launched today will set you back $108 if you want them all. Only want one? That isn't an option. The smallest purchase Steam lets you make costs $12, which is enough to buy 2 of 'em.
For all the things Capcom has done well in SF6, the microtransactions are 100% NOT one of them. I'm about as big of a fan as they have, but I'm not buying anything. Wild guess, there will probably be a Street Fighter 6 Ultra/Champion Edition/etc. that includes all of this stuff for $20 in a year or two. I get paying $12 for a character, but 2 outfits? That's some grade-A bullshit.
Those are downright reasonable compared to some games , and cosmetic. Still would like to earn those through gameplay. You should see some mmorpg monetization though... .LOL, so the new costumes that launched today will set you back $108 if you want them all. Only want one? That isn't an option. There's a new feature where you can force costumes of your opponents, that way you you can nullify some accidental frame buffs characters got, ie gief costume 3 changed his on block frames to -8 instead of -35. Unknown if yesterday's update fixed it. My gripe with costumes isn't the price. It's the you need to spend more to get 1, ie steam shows I can only buy 250 coins or 610, and the costumes are 300.
Pay-to-win.wtf?! costumes should not do that.

Hm, tried going online for my first time after buying a couple of months ago and not trying it out before now. I'm leaving it 5+ minutes searching for a match with 4-5 bar connection selected and it isn't finding anyone. Did I goof by telling it I wanted to be in the "intermediate" bracket instead of the top one? It said you can't change that, so hopefully not...
Yeah, I was. Thanks, I was able to get some matches that way.If you're just looking to play online matches, pop into the Battle Hub area. I think that's what most people are doing at this point. You just sit down at a machine and wait for someone to join, or you can seek out someone with a certain character, rank, etc.
In the older Alpha games his moves connected quicker than Ryu/Ken, so if you were actually skilled with the character you could lock your opponent down that way. It is kind of funny that they took the noob's way of fighting with Ryu and made it more trollish by giving Akuma the ability to shoot fireballs while jumping, though. It's also funny how Dan was just as quick as Akuma, but they turned his damage way down.Looks like the same 'ol Akuma. If that's what you want, that's exactly what they delivered. I'm sure the waves of people who just keep jumping backwards and tossing fireballs are ecstatic.
